Apple September Event 2017 |OT| A Top-Notch Keynote

Show me this working at night, in dim lighting, on a dark-skinned black person and I'll be impressed.
The whole reason they use the ir dot emitter is to that the effective light doesn't matter. It will use the ir dots to map independent of the light.

But yeah I'd like it too.

Guys the message said "Passcode is required to enable FaceID", meaning it wasn't gonna work cause the phone was recently restarted or something.

It would've happened with TouchID as well; that's the intended functionality

The front of this phone is really one of the most inelegant mobile designs I've seen in years. There's still some bezel and the black bar up top is really distracting.

The edge to edge display looks so flashy, but offers NOTHING other than allowing for smaller devices at the same screen size.

meanwhile, 3D touch is an invisible feature that added so much functionality to the phone.

Face ID looks annoying to use tbh.

Having the ability to use iris scanning OR fingerprint sensor at any time depending on the situation on my S8 is a life saver.

Having to use my face to unlock the phone in every single situation is going to be a killer for a lot of people.

Seriously.

Was gonna be mad about control center at the top, but as its smaller than the Plus it's probably reachable without issues.

I didn't have to wait for Touch ID lol. Not that impressive my dude.

Does the black strip on the top show during videos and photos? If so, what a bad decision by Apple.

It's physically part of the phone. It shouldn't be an issue for regular 16:9 video though. Phone is wider than that.

That guy took a huge chance demoing the FaceID again (and again), and it paid off. I bet he was sweating his ass off, as was everyone else there from Apple.
