A lot of you seem to be a playing a dangerous game getting your hopes up that this will be like some E3 pt. 2. It is 45 mins which is a good sign, and I do expect some new reveals... but I have to imagine the agenda is largely to double down on their holiday offerings.

Seems like some people are expecting this to be a regular Direct lol.
Nintendo and their partners have been saving quite a bit for this date.

All those PlatinumGames tease gotta deliver, right :p

And reinforce consumers confidence that 2018 will also deliver!

They're broadcasting it at the Nintendo NY store.

It's gonna be a good one...

A lot of directs were better than what we got at E3.

Rank these unlikely trailer announcements from most to least likely:

Super Smash Bros. (port or otherwise)
Animal Crossing
Pikmin 4
Fire Emblem
Metroid Prime 4

If this is to be the last Direct of 2017, sure. Though regardless I don't think 2018 will be of great focus.

But I'd love to be wrong, I've pretty much already decided which 2017 titles I'll be grabbing and which I'll be skipping.

(We know MP is early in development and they don't want to cut into FE Warriors hype so I don't see the last two happening)

Pikmin 4 and Animal Crossing are the only ones that really seem possible of those. Probably just AC since there's still the mobile game coming this FY and this is as good a chance as any to announce a console game to go with it.

Did anyone post this?

A person twitted to Kamiya that he/she is anticipating Kamiya's new work and he replied back with tomorrow in Nintendo Direct.

I mean I know he's a massive troll but still.

I kind of have my doubts about Animal Crossing seeing as there apparently won't be any mobile news in this direct and I'm not really expecting to hear anything about a new mainline Animal Crossing before we know literally anything about the mobile game.

It's stupid that Okami HD isn't coming to Switch at this point, so...

I still think we're well within the period of time where games like Okami HD were in the works before Capcom turned around on Switch. If they announce games like that come next holiday and they aren't on Switch from the get-go, I'll be convinced they don't know what they're doing.

They won't talk about Fire Emblem Switch until after Warriors is out, and they won't talk about Animal Crossing Switch until after the mobile game. If MP4 shows it'll be a CGI trailer and Nintendo typically has a disdain for those. Smash port for the Switch just makes too much financial sense to not happen, but with Sakurai you never know. They may have just moved on to the next. Pikmin 4 is due, and Miyamoto has made comments on how far along the next main title is. That's my bet.

Fair point. Still a bummer though, and if Switch is so easy to port to/develop for like we've all heard, why is it so hard to push out a digital copy in time?

If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say it's because Capcom isn't handling these ports internally. I have literally no idea what the process would be like to add a platform to a title you have an external team handling.

I think at most they'll announce the developer of MP4 (
Quantum Entanglement Entertainment
)

A little bit (okay a lot) OT, but this seems the most active Nintendo (Switch) thread... Has anyone else had any problem with connecting their Switch to Facebook? It constantly gives me error 2810-1500 and I've tried everything I've found online...

Has anyone ever been to the live broadcasting in Nintendo NY?

Now that I live in NY I kinda want to see how it is but not sure how it's going to be like.

Google Metroid Prime 4 reveal at NYC store and you'll see how packed and loud tbe store gets for Nintendo Directs

What makes you say that?

We're all speculating here, but I think there's going to be a big effort from several publishers to get a Switch game from their catalogs to the marketplace in time for this holiday. There will never be a time in the lifecyle of this device that will provide an environment more conducive to consumers impulse buying games than the Switch's first holiday season. Shit, we're practically begging them to repackage old games.

As far as I know, big third parties got the lowdown on the Switch at E3 2016. I understand them not being ready to release anything by the launch 6 months later but, if you're not in a position to shovel us some ware a year and a half later, then you have fucked up.
