When they're actually out there at their rallies using that signal, that's all I need to see to count it as legit. I'm not gonna be fooled by that "it's just 4Chan trolling, breh" bullshit.
I have read most of the thread, but so far I haven't seen anyone say what Destiny thing it's referring to.
Just because you haven't heard of it doesn't mean it's not well known. The flag was flying in Charlottesville, it's not a secret or anything

It wouldn't hurt Bungie to see if they have any reason to suspect the designer of being a white supremacist and deal with it. I doubt it'd be difficult to find out. If they are stupid enough to put WS imagery in a game while working at Bungie for release all over the world, they're probably not closeted in their racism.

In that case, it seems weird that a costume like this would even be approved in the first place. The designer must be decently high up in the art department.

Well, Luke Smith was a major WoW nerd, and I'd imagine he's not the only one. If not familiar with the original neo-Nazi flag, it may have been seen as a small callback to that.
People asking for the guy to be fired, because "there's no chance this is a coincidence", are talking out of their asses.

I think it's just a weird bug that happens with bungie.net and the companion app. I've got a few items on the app that say that. Probably just didn't load right or something.
Bungie usually uses this to usually hide secret weapons and unused assets from being found through their gear and weapon api.

That's wrong. There is a way. Do an internal review of the employee once identified and see if they frequent questionable websites using company computers, look at their social media to see if they're tweeting stupid shit, etc.

It is a shame the nature of this issue prevents Bungie from really making a statement about it.
What I mean by this is that it would have been kind of cool to see a quickly put together brand new "Hidden Area" deployed via patch that would give people who own this item a new "unlocked quest" where you would have to fight your way to a forge like machine, then BURN this arm armor and reform (ie "reroll") a newer, ALL DIFFERENT, more powerful version of an arm armor that you could only get from this quest.
Something called like "Rainbow Megaton" or "Color Vibrancy" that could be a total and utter backhanded response to the original intent of the arm armor's design in the first place.
Ah well, a direct item target and change/removal is probably for the best given the popularity of the game, but a gamer can dream of new in-game content...

Yes, a discussion is occurring in this thread, because this is a forum for discussion. When you try to shoot down said discussion, you better believe you'll get some blowback. When you see a table full of known white supremacists all suddenly deciding to flash an Ok symbol, and people in the Nazi crowds doing the same thing, it doesn't matter that it started off with someone making up bullshit. They're eating that shit themselves. Shit-eating grin as they hold up an 👌.
People are allowed to be outraged. Who are you to try and quell that outrage? You know no more about the situation than others on here. People can be mad and hope the person or persons responsible for this are punished for it. You can disagree and say it could all be a coincidence. Neither side is right, neither side is wrong, not until more details surface. Until then? Discussion. Let people articulate their disdain instead of trying to shoot them down for no other reason then "they could be wrong".
