I feel like this thread is full of people that waited in line for 12 hours, beat 6 people to death with a bat to get ahead in line, then decided to post about how easy it is to get one without any mention of where it was apparently so easy to get one

Even stores where it is "easy" to get one are sold out within 5 min
Basically everyone with a job has no chance of getting one today, hopefully it gets easier to get one in October before it becomes really impossible to get one
I have a job. I was in line at 5:30 for a 7:00 purchase and about 8 people got in behind me and got one as well up until about 30 minutes before store open. It took a little effort, and I'd rather have been able to buy it off my phone while naked in bed, but it wasn't very difficult if you really wanted one.

My best buy in Tacoma will probably have 20-40 in stock for walk in when it opens. Wasn't a large line.

Glad I got mine, took a paid day off, 3 day weekend and snes! Good luck to everyone~

Were there not proper pre-orders in America or something?

In the UK I was able to place a pre-order down a while ago and my order was delivered to me on time today. No stress or hassle and I'm now happily playing it.

My wife stopped by the local Toys R Us and they had plenty. She showed up at about 10am when the store opened and was maybe the first in line or one of the first few. By the time she checked out, there were a ton of people in line.

Told my Amazon US order I placed back on Aug. 22 with original ship date changed to tentative will not be sent anytime soon due to stock issues but I am on the high priority list...has ANYONE who had a amazon US order received one?

That's disappointing. They probably couldn't give you a timetable either, could they?

That kinda proves his point. Not everybody can do that with a job and kids. Some have to stay home with the kids and some are working early in the morning so they can't do this.

Got in line at my local Walmart, they were handing out tickets. I got 54 of 54 and the poor sap behind me was pretty mad lol. Wish I could have grabbed another for my brother but oh well.

welp all 100 at Mississauga heart land best buy seem to be gone. their opening up online orders at 12pm tho, don't know how long that will last but don't give up if your still searching!

Do you mean all Best Buys? Seems strange anyone will have them online today until the stock/pre-orders settle out.

Job haver here. Unless your job starts before 8am you could have easily gotten one in Target by showing up about an hour early.

Ft Myers here and wife and I both landed one at coconut point Best Buy. Lines at page field were crazy.

Going to have a happy child at Christmas!

Is anyone going to argue this time that them selling out wasn't intentional? They knew the demand, had over a year to manufacture the product, and yet there isn't enough in stores.

Nintendo of America manufactures artificial scarcity as part of their standard operating procedures. You can't really argue against that this time.

They said you had to wait in line for 12 hours or something. It was 90 minutes for me and a lot less for plenty of others. I'm sorry they had a rough time getting one but it wasn't really that difficult. I have a kid too. I made the effort because I really cared to get one today. If you don't want to, that's fine, but don't be surprised if you don't get one at release.

It' the first hours of release of a very in demand product. Yeah, you're not going to be able to waltz in to a store any time today and easily find one. It's like that for any product that is highly anticipated.

Damn, I should have just gone to Walmart this morning. They got over 60 and sold 40 at midnight. The last one was sold at 8:30.

I still have one on Walmart.com but it says processing and I'd much rather have it in hand.

Nintendo did good on supply. Picked up three this morning from different stores

...why did you pick up 3?

Got mine pretty easily. Woke up at 6, waited for two hours with about 15 other people at Target. They had about 25 or so from what I saw on the floor. Middle of nowhere, Kansas!

I'm gutted, I missed out on all the pre orders but thought I'd be able to pop into Argos first thing and pick one up. No dice though, they were completely out of stock and not sure when they are coming back in.

I've tried Smyths and Toys R US also but the same story.

I'm based in the UK,

Asda is the only place I've seen that has stock in store. Maybe try there if you have one local.

What the fuck is this thing that automatically deleting my locked suspend point saves?

Yeah you have to be careful with those. I lost half an hour's worth of time in FFVI after pressing the wrong button.

Currently experiencing bizarre psychodrama with Amazon reps on chat. Have been transferred 3 times. I am interrogatting my poor rep, but he's giving confusing answers...

REP: Also in that the stock is very less and we will not be able to guarantee that the item will be shipped soon. I am sorry that this will be disappointing a gamer.
They would have sent for all the orders as per the first in basis. However as this item is in big demand even stock is not available with different seller. They might have got a huge orders for this item.
ME: I ordered within seconds of the listing going up and it was up for an hour or so, I imagine I must be one of the very earliest orders, so one would imagine it would ship unless Amazon had EXTREMELY constrained stock. Sorry to be difficult, just trying to get some clarity on the situation.
REP: I just wanted to be honest to you. I don't want to disappoint a gamer more by giving a false promise.
ME: The internet suggests that ZERO people have had SNES orders shipped by Amazon US, which seems very strange.
REP: I will check this and give you information. We certainly did not expect this to happen.
ME: Thank you, it seems very strange.
REP: I just now got the information that the offer you saw in August was for digital address and now we are waiting for the items for physical address.
Once the items are available for physical address you will be receiving your order.
ME: I have heard from people who have spoken to Amazon reps that confirmed the order page used was the proper listing for the product. The strange "Nintendo Digital Downloads/Game Trust" label has I believe been used for Nintendo products like the switch in the past. I got the sense the odd labeling of the product was probably to fight automated bots that would try and eat up the stock, hence the unconventional listing. I am not sure I entirely understand this explanation of digital address vs physical address.
SNES mini is a solely physical product, not a digital one.
REP: As per the information I got the stock was available only for the digital orders on August. I am sorry about this. I can understand how disappointing it is when your item which you are waiting for is not in stock. But in this case this will be in stock soon. We are also waiting for the stocks to be filled in our fulfillment center.

Peachtree City, GA.

Best Buy still had some when I left (I was #20 in line). Gamestop was sold out already when I arrived (only had the ones people pre-ordered left). Overall, it does seem like more were released but still demand is way too high for them. Hopefully they will continue to supply a good amount of them.

You don't just flip a switch and millions of pieces of hardware appear out of nowhere. You have to source parts and line up contracts with manufacturing facilities. Maybe they are at capacity, or maybe ordering more capacity would cost them more money. In the end, they are trying to make money, not trying to get a console in every person's hand. Just like the SNES Classic has supply and demand, so does all of the SNES Classic parts and Nintendo has to make a decision on where they want to meet that curve and what price point they want to pay for it.

Wait, so what's going on with the US Amazon orders? No one who ordered from Amazon is getting a shipping confirmation?

IIRC some did, like when you are entering a name.

This has always been one of my biggest issues with the game. It cuts out melody instruments to play sfx. So yes, that's accurate.

That's really lame. They should have used the power of emulation to fix that. Really. Paradoxically, not fixing this thing that was in the original release actually messes with nostalgia somewhat.

Finally home with this thing. Overall it went well I was 3rd in line I arrived at Gamestop at 6AM waited 4 hours total. The people I waited in line with were pretty chill the first person in line arrived there at 1AM like jeeze. The 2nd person in line called in "sick".

It's a Nintendo product. There are Nintendo fans that will argue for anything that this comoany does. Remember when people said making the nes a limited item was a smart business decision that they decided to do and now they're making them again after realizing how widespread demand still is?

Nostalgia overloaaaaaaaaddd

Was able to get mine fairly easily this morning, the Best Buy across the street from my job has about 20 tickets left and co-workers keep popping over to pick them up, situation seems to be quite a bit better than the NES Classic launch.

man the game's selection is much better than I anticipated, just looked at the back of the box. Earthbound? Mario RPG? Megaman X? sweet.
