It didn't seem so bad until they got to the part where manually turning off assists dont give higher payouts.
This mod system could have been a fun addition, but when you replace things people like to do freely with arbitrary walls,it's a downgrade.
Yep.
That and making the VIP rewards limited use make all of this ultra shitty. (Those people basically paid for extra lootboxes and early access when none of that was made clear beforehand)
Anyone who is saying this doesn't change anything or that it's not a big deal simply aren't paying attention.
Also it is shady as SHIT that companies dont get the real micro-transactions going till some time after launch.
Fuck them extra hard for that bullshit.
I hope 10 years from now we can all look back at paid loot boxes and say ''Wooh, glad that shit was over.'' rather than ''Can't believe we didn't stop it back then.''
Same goes to microtransaction.
Its actually better this way. So they can minimizw the influence the MTs have on the economy.
I remember when Forza Horizon 2 came out, the progression system was generous and rewarding. So when they added MTs later, there was no accusations of progress being slowed to impose MTs. It was still generous and rewarding and so MTs felt optional.

I can't find it. I'm under two hours of play time so a self service refund shouldn't be a problem. If you find the self service refund button let me know because I have 1 hour of play time and can't find it. Might have to contact support to get refund.
It's fascinating watching video games slowly turn into virtual gambling machines.
Nah unfortunately we will look back and say "remember when you could actually get something that resembled a proper game for $60/£50?".
At this point I just want publishers to push the line until it blows up in their faces.
Go on, give a reason for lawmakers to hunt you dowm. Do it.
....Hasn't forza always been this way??
Seems you have always had the option of playing the game and earning credits or taking the easy route and buying tokens.
If I'm not mistaken though Forza has been very forgiving when it comes to credits earned from each race so it is not similar to other games like 2k where you are forced to buy VC to achieve anything.
Even if they remove the bonus credits earned from taking off assists it still shouldn't affect it that much.

If they were up front that VIP content was different this time around, I wouldn't have balked. But sliding this in there without mention in a pre-order context, that's just wrong.
Im pretty sure "mods" (cards) where in forza6 as well and i never had any issues with them or the game
But it does. And making VIP a consumable for 25 uses without warning is fucking scummy.
They're chipping things away from the series little by little until it's the racing version of NBA 2K
And you can turn off all the assists and get rewarded... now is all gone in favor of the Mods ($$)Im pretty sure "mods" (cards) where in forza6 as well and i never had any issues with them or the game

You make extra credits now choosing the lenght of the race. I'm fine with removing rewards for assists as people who can't drive without them can earn same amount as people playing without assists.
This sounds a lot like Destiny 2's system. My solution is to not spend money and just play the base game.
The real issue is they are crippling our options to earn in game credits.
But it also helps to minimize any potential impact of microtransactions on review scores. Because the details of the final implementation are unknown, reviewers may feel hesitant to go hard against it. This is not a good thing.
How so? in F6 for example the more assists you had on, the less credits you earned. This type of stuff has been there for a while now.
For those of us who have traditionally liked to play with no assists due to the extra challenge and extra credits/rewards it provided this does change things.
I look forward to the option of playing with no assists being locked behind a mod in next years edition.
*screams internally*
The lengths people go to defend shit like this is utterly staggering.
That system is no longer there. They locked it behind loot boxes. Just another feature they've chipped away.

Loot boxes have entered fucking physical goods now too. There were so many vendors at DragonCon this year selling loot boxes where you have a chance to get certain items. They looked to be selling like crazy. What has the world come to.

Blind boxes aren't new. They've been popular at comic shops for over 5 years.Loot boxes have entered fucking physical goods now too.
