Just a quick FYI, if you play with Wii classic Controllers, the home button WILL actually perform the reset.

But otherwise, if you wanna use the regular controllers, gotta wait for the hack.

I love doing a low level run in ff6 until the world of ruin.

Makes the early game a tad more challenging and helps you raise stats later super fast.

Scored big today! Got my first unit at a Target this morning (8am) and my 2nd unit this afternoon at the Amazon Treasure Truck (5:30pm)!! My Target gave out its 30th and final ticket 1 minute before the store opened.

The Amazon Treasure Truck in Dallas was crazy busy! They had a very steady stream of people coming in and out of the K1 Speed Kart parking lot while I was there. I was really surprised to see so many units still on the table too. I’m sure they were all sold and just waiting to be picked up by their owners, but still...

That's weird that the manual would say to unplug the system. The power button even says shutting down on the screen.

Does that mean I shouldn't just leave it plugged into the TV?

So, I got one from the Truck today and I'm thinking of keeping it (if not, it goes to my friend for cost calm down GAF) Can anyone speak me out of my jaded attitude of not using an emulator on PC to play my games upscaled and what not? I'm super tempted to keep it

Anyone with an 8bitdo SFC30 controller and retro receiver got them working with the SNES Mini? I’ve managed to get the controller pairs, but with the latest firmware on he receiver it didn’t recognise the X and Y buttons as being distinct from others and with the 1.05 beta 0 firmware someone on reddit recommended the buttons work but the d pad doesn’t now.

Yeah, same here. Hopefully they provide a firmware update.

I'm more curious how that math adds up to 23 units lol

We were 2 persons and then on actual day time 29th we were 3 persons. Some walmart sold us extras so it was cool.

I am not bragging but I once bought 400+ Ipads all on my own and I felt proud and it was a very nice paycheck. So 23 is not very much but each store was still very limited in supplies and there were always a good number of people waiting for them.

Forgot how hard it was to pull off moves in street fighter using the controller. Loving how vibrant and amazing the games look on my tv though.

Yesterday a Walmart CSR person assured me my 8/25 order was being shipped today. It's about 6pm here and it's still "preparing".

I'm beginning to suspect online chat people making minimum wage might not always know what they're talking about!

Ahem.

Not that anyone cares, but i went to walmart last night at 11pm and waited until 12 and got one. I did get nervous because there was about 15 to 16 people ahead of me and some of them were buying two systems a piece...

But i did walk out of wally world with the crown jewel ....

We got a total 23 with 2 persons at Walmart midnight launch andand then 3 Walmart 7am launch and Best Buy.

Could be more but we didnt preorder and don't ask me why I need 23.

Ooh, is it because you wanted to make sure that tons of people who wanted to buy them from the story would be unable to do so so you could make some spare money?

Weird, I just hooked it up and started playing Super Mario World, and the audio is popping in and out. The main menu music plays with out a hitch but not in the game. Any ideas?

Shit. I saw all these third party controllers supported posts and figured they put Bluetooth in this thing. Oh well, looks like I'm gaming 5 feet from my screen like the good ol' days
The 8bitdo ones connect to a separate dongle. That dongle only works properly on the NES Classic right now, but they're supposedly working on an update to make it work on the SNES, too.

Some dude in front of me started talking to other dudes how that me and my friend were buying 2 each that the people behind me won't get any...later Walmart changed it to 1 per person...

Try a different HDMI cable first.

Wait, you shouldn't leave it plugged in after shutting down? Just unplug it? What'll happen if it's plugged in 24/7
Beats me. Someone said the manual says to unplug it after turning it off. Was the NES classic the same way? Did anyone have issues leaving it plugged in?

I never got my hands on an NES Classic so having the SNES is mind blowing to me vs chase Holy Shit it's so small and adorable!

Also, I totally forgot in EU we got a design more in line with the JP version in comparison to the US one, the US one is kinda ugly.

I took the cable that was attached to my switch, it was fine there.

And for kicks I reset it and tried out Kirby, the music is fine. Maybe a hiccup?

Been playing it off and on all day. If I had these games on an emulator or even VC I prob wouldn't even play them. There is just something about having the SNES controller in hand with the console in front of me that touches all the right buttons. Shit just brings me back. Also the CRT mode is great.

The NA one seemed cutting edge against the boring EU/JP in terms of design in 1991. But now it looks very cheap while the EU/JP looks so classic. Remember they wanted sharp corners, region locks, etc. So glad regional differences like this are done.

So I've searched some of this thread trying to figure out the best mode/setting to play these on (Pixel Perfect, 4:3, CRT). Is there any consensus as to what is best? Or will it vary game to game or person to person?

Probably very person to person. Crt mode is the only one that looks decent to me.

Still, if the problem happens with the game again, try the included cable. It's perfect for me.

And about unplugging the system, the manual says to turn it off and unplug to avoid malfunction or data corruption. I don't know how that would happen but yeah.

Ended up being able to trade for one on facebook. Had to give up my opened/used NES classic straight up. But I feel that was a good deal for me.

I was late to the SNES party (got one wih DKC) so I’m pretty pumped to play.

Also BTW Star Fox is bruuutal. Could see the appeal in ‘93 but that one didn’t age.

8/25 Walmart preorder finally shipped. No email confirmation. Hold fast, my friends. You should hopefully see yours shipped soon. Just keep checking your order periodically.

Has anyone tried this with the Xbox One powered USB and input HDMI yet? Would be nice to not have to move my furniture and install this.

I can’t believe the amazon truck bullshit.
I don’t understand how a company can in good faith pull from their stock of systems and sell them while preorders go unfilfilled. The shittiest part is the good PR from the truck will probably outweigh the bad PR from the preorders going unfulfilled.

I'm disappointed by the length of all the cables. You pretty much need to hook this up to a PC monitor and play it at a desk, or have a couch that's 3-4 feet away from the TV. :/

So I picked up mine from Best Buy earlier today (I'd ordered it back when they went up on the site and just did in-store pickup) and instead of going to Gamestop and waiting, I lucked out and managed to grab one from Thinkgeek as a Christmas present for a friend. Glad they accept Gamestop trade in gift cards.

I thought the controller cord length was 5ft this time? Or was that bs, lol.
