I'm playing it on a 55" 4K TV and sitting really close due to the controller cables. It looks great. I use the CRT filter.
The CRT filter is much better on this than on the NES Mini. Enabled it for Final Fantasy III and everything has a slight roundness and blending to it, no longer harsh pixels. Highly recommended.
Seems like you already can hack the SNES mini with other SNES, Genesis or N64 games if your not scared of using a long way to do it?

Why do people keep complaining about having to press the reset button when you can just hold START+SELECT+L+R?
Wow, really?! That wasn't a smart design choice..The only resets the game, it doesn't go to the front menu.
I have two of those Yok wireless pads, and I can confirm that pushing both down and select does in fact reset the system. Nice catch! It's some Yok wireless controller. Got it for 20 bucks at GameStop since the cables on the default controllers is only like 5 feet.
Did I accidentally make a fantastic purchase?!
Edit: just tried my normal controller. Didn't work out. So, it appears to be related to the wireless controller I bought. Sorry to anyone I misled! I had no intentions to.![]()
Deadpool_X said:Indianapolis is completely sold out. I got screwed yesterday morning at Best Buy in Avon,Indiana(suburb of Indy). Got there at 6:30, waited until 7:15 when they handed out tickets. Was ticket #12 of 14 in line, and they had like 47 systems. Right after they gave us the tickets, they said that we had to stay there, in line, until the store opened at 10. If we left for any reason at all, even just to wait in our cars, we'd forfeit our system. I work for the Avon school district, and there are young minds who's development depends on my being at work at 7:30, so I questioned them on it, saying it's never been like that in the past. They held firm, claiming it was corporate policy, which is clearly is not. As of such, they made me give my ticket back.
A coworker and friend at the school district also works part time at that store. I told him about it, and he went over at lunch to see what happened. They admitted to him that they lied about that, going against corporates' directions on how to do the ticketing, because they didn't want people taking the tickets to another store.
By the time I got my lunch break, Target, Wal-Mart, Meijer, and Gamestop were all sold out in the entire greater Indy area. I'm so upset about it, because I had a freaking ticket in my hand. It should've been mine, had they followed company policy and not gone rogue.
I complained to corporate, but all I got back was a, "we're sorry this happened and will use this info to assess how we can better do rollouts in the future" response, which is just a spit in the face.
That's really just the NES Mini with Retroarch loaded on, flashed on to the SNES Mini.
I think what people really want is the ability to upload games into the SNES Mini's own frontend, which is what we can't currently do.
The only resets the game, it doesn't go to the front menu.
Youve gotten my hopes up. I too have a 10/6 delivery. Brb gonna sit by the front door all day.My Walmart order, which was supposed to arrive Oct 6, arrived yesterday! Couldn't believe it. Love this thing - what a joy to play MMX again. Also real excited to dive into Final Fantasy 3 - never played it.
Do they come with AC adaptors at all?
Man, playing Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts on the SNES classic right now and all I can think of is 'I want to play Demon's Crest now', lol
What's the shortest game of the bunch? Want a smaller game to compliment the meaty RPGs.

The box you have on your hands has a huge textbox on it that tells you all of this

Bumped because I got hurried at the bottom of the last page.

It's also been a long time since I played a real SNES, but I swear some games like Super Mario World have slowdown where there wasn't before. One of the world 1 stages (the first one with the water and the floating mines), it got pretty bad slowdown when I picked up the invincibility star. I could be wrong, but I never remember things like that in the original.
Still its been a lot of fun so far, I've put a number of hours into Earthbound which I've never tried before and it's been very enjoyable!
Delivery estimate from Amazon UK to US went from 10/16 to 10/17. Really? 3 weeks to make a 5 hour flight?
This resets the game but doesn't go back to the menu for me. It's annoying having to go press the reset button every time you just want to go back to the main menu. Why do people keep complaining about having to press the reset button when you can just hold START+SELECT+L+R?
I don't think there's a product with better value than the SNES Classic this year. I'm going to waste away so many hours with this thing. I've played almost all of these games from beginning to end multiple times but they're all still so replayable.
Anyone read a good technical article or study on how the SNES Classic emulation performance compares to the best RetroPi / Rasberry Pi 3 Model B SNES emulation?
I'd use the pixel perfect ratio if it didn't fuck up the proportions on everything.Quite a ways in to Secret of Mana and just finished Super Mario World:

Star Fox 2 took me about 45 minutes to play from start to finish. What's the shortest game of the bunch? Want a smaller game to compliment the meaty RPGs.
Boss order makes all the difference. My god, Mega Man X is so freaking hard, can't even beat half of a boss he because you die so fast.

It is kinda crappy they lied to your face. There isnt much that can be done at this point. Your best bet now is trying another Best Buy if they do the ticketing again, cause their policy of coming back later helped a lot of folks out to get it later in the day when the lines got thinner. I would scope out what other Best Buys did the ticketing better. Lots of posters in here said they had good experiences with Best Buys in other states.

No, the art in a lot of these games was made with 4:3 CRTs in mind, so when you try to play them 1:1 on a fixed-pixel display, it messes with the look.It felt it enhanced the proporitons in Super Mario World.
