Is there any reason that the music for Yoshi's Island has occasional skips for me? It's the only game (so far) that I've noticed do this. Granted, I've only really put a lot of time into Super Mario Kart, Street Fighter, DKC, and Yoshi's Island so far.

Drifting is so much different in snes mario kart..i used to be able to crush 150cc, i had issues beating mushroom cup 100cc last night.

I went back to my Switch and beat 200cc just to make myself feel better lol.

I'm exposing myself here:

My first Mario game was Super Mario Sunshine (had a N64, never did get SM64). Despite being the weakest Mario game, I had a grand time playing it over a few weeks. However, I never purchased it, because I kept it those few weeks as a rental (Hollywood Video or Blockbuster, I've forgotten). I'm certain it would have been cheaper to purchase the game than to rent it for a few weeks. In fact, I vaguely remember a comment from an employee saying as much.

I didn’t laugh...that’s sad. Still it’s an emotional reaction so if no one else makes me LOL in the next 20 minutes it’s yours.

Lol, you couldn't be more wrong. One of the best 2 player games on there.

Eh, there are far bigger omissions. Honestly I will wait till warranty period is over and look at how people add games to this. Mind boggling at some of Nintendo choices though. I would have paid double the price if it had maybe 10 games more including Chrono Trigger, Pilotwings, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Earthworm Jim, NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat II, Turtles in Time, heck even Donkey Kong Country II is a big omission etc.

How was the NES adding more games on scene? Any issues of the consoles being bricked or ruined after? Don't want to mess with a good thing.

I'm absolutely loving Secret of Mana. I just got banished from the village and made my way to Neko the cat's house, 30 GP just to stay the night and high priced items, apparently he's the Tom Nook of the Mana world.

For anyone else in my boat:

Reached out to Walmart CSR again re: my 8/25 order that's still "processing". Was told in sorta garbled English that they are working hard to make sure I still get it by the promised arrival date of October 4. I said "a friend" (another poster in this thread, heh) got a 10% discount for the delay and was wondering if I could get the same. She said she couldn't do that for me yet because the October 4 date could still happen.

So in summary:

Who the f' knows.

Mine is supposed to come the 3rd. No idea how they plan to make that voodoo magic work out lol.

You have to beat all single-player to unlock multi-player? Or just certain ones?

When playing, have Kirby copy a power. Then press A to create a helper. Player 2 can then control that helper by pressing buttons on the controller. Also a 2nd player can spawn from Kirby if he has a power copied by pressing buttons on the 2nd controller.

There is no way to play as multiple Kirby's. If 2nd player wants to change powers, the Kirby player can press A to discard their power as an item that the helper can touch and gain that power. When the helper starts exploding and while they're in this state, they can touch an enemy with a power to copy them and recover their health. They can also force this state by mashing A. A little trick to recover health for the helper if Kirby doesn't have a power is to press A to create a cloud near him that will turn the helper into a Power Item that he can inhale. Copy that power and make a new helper that will have full health. I believe the only abilities that cannot be made into helpers are Mic and Paint. The closest way for player 2 to mimic Kirby's copy ability is to make a helper of the T.A.C. enemy (looks like a bandit with a big green bag) who can copy abilities semi-freely.

There's a tutorial when starting Dyna Blade for the first time that will go over this.

The superior design and color!

Can't wait for mine to reach me in mid-Oct.
My experience with Amazon's international shipping is that it usually arrives much earlier than the estimated date they give... But we don't have super cheap shipping options like shipping to America does, so don't know how that works. I think I paid 25 GBP for shipping from UK and 35/40 Euro from Spain, there were no cheaper options offered.

Anyone wondering how the SNES looks in the RDS carrying case for the NES classic:

If Amazon.com ever allows shipping these internationally I might snag a US one just to see what all the fuss about the buttons is about.
it's not that big of a deal. Pick up your NES controller and feel the buttons, now you know what the fuss is about

I've noticed it too, in Earthbound and FF3. Pretty annoying.

Seeing "Super Nintendo" on what is clearly a "Super Famicom" just looks wrong. ;)

Super Nintendo = Purple
Super Famicom = Skittles inspired controller
I never owned a SNES before, so I have no previous mental associations with either. I just know that looking at both designs today, I strongly prefer the Super Famicom/Euro design. The controllers are a toss up for me though.

Holy shit, you're in for a treat then.

Can't imagine playing all those classics for the first time as an adult.

Why is Yoshi's Island stated as a one-player game? It has a two-player mode!

But I actually forgot the cheat code to unlock it and haven't come far enough in the game yet so I could look it up.

Super Mario World: could you guys remind me how to fly across stages while in Superman mode? Can't remember the controls.

You kinda want to alternate between the left and right d pad.

Assuming you're facing right, when you're in the air, pressing right will start to descend but then pressing left will cause you to bounce up, and repeat

Its the most cpu intensive to emulate thanks to all the superFX2 stuff etc, its the only SNES game I ever had run poorly on a modded Wii. So it's probably that.

As a notorious retro game image quality freak, I'm surprised by how much I enjoy the picture quality on this. Especially with the CRT filter on. I'm sure Digital Foundry will explain how it's technically inaccurate in some way but it passes my personal sniff test. The games all look more or less how they should.
