Destiny 2 |OT2| Leviathan Wakes (Spoiler Tag ALL Raid Discussion)

I remember grinding to get pocket infinity. Took forever to get the quest and by time i got them they had both been nerfed. Didn't get the vex until year 3.

The nerfs were unnecessary. The game needed op guns like that. They shouldn't have been allowed in pvp. Bungies refusal to keep them separate was an issue since day 1 even back then.

Bungie is still in denial to keep them separated on Destiny 2 so maybe Blizzard should move some of Warcraft designers to help them

It's a bug lol.

Will be fixed in a patch on Tuesday.

Still think its weird its a bug. Makes complety sense to me to give someone a power level 10 item when someone in the clan completes Nightfall, Trials etc. You didnt do anything but still get a reward. Thats pretty nice already. But you need to infuse it yourself. Thats why i was so surprised when i read it was a "bug".

everyone thought the same until they announced it as a bug a couple of days ago.

Yeah, I'm guessing Bungie's logic is it helps get more players Raid ready faster, so give them another high level engram.
I don't mind it personally, actually quite like getting my Clan a weekly milestone we haven't got yet. But I don't think many were complaining about them being 10 PL.

I thought the same too, that the clan welfare engrams are basically a non-participatory way to get Trials and Raid gear, with the downside that you need to infuse them yourselves.

That was some amazing food coma I had yesterday

Oooh weeeeee!

Delicious home made food, hits the right spots

Was out cold for a good while

Fake Edit: In b4 kadey makes me go to sleep, no Mrs Ghost Primus, I'm woke as literally I'm awake!

CrowdChant and crew sorry I couldn't finish the raid with you guys. You all are a really fun group and I hope to be able to play with you all again in the future. Thanks for the good times.

Do the raids actually take up to five hours?

I'm up for two hours but five hours of non stop playing seems like a bit of to much time to spend on one event.
Can one stop half-way and continue later?

There are checkpoints throughout the raid (unless you're playing Guided Games). You don't have to do it in one sitting.

Also, it can take less then five hours or more, depends on how well you know the raid/how good your team is at communicating.

You will definitely clear it in less than five hours once you know it well enough.

They are much quicker once you work out what you need to do.

For example I went into the raid with a fireteam completely blind today and it took us two hours to do the first main encounter out of the hub. That two hours was us experimenting on different ways to get the correct strategy, now we have it down we can complete it in a few minutes.

I mean with my main group, it's like one, to one and a half hours, with randoms or weak links. Yea, it can take 5 hours+.

Is it hard to win a match in trials for the trophy? I generally hate PvP even though I am good at it and have great items for it. If it's not like some 5 hour thing I might join a casual group just to knock that out then I only have to level my hunter and titan for platinum.

Just wanted to give a shout out to my clan-mates for the first Resurrection Raid of Destiny 2, featuring all clan members. Considering we only had ~10 members in D1 and are now around 40 members in D2 it was a great feeling.

One person had never done a raid before (in either Destiny), another had only done Crota and none of us had done the Gauntlet before. We managed to go from start to conquering the Gauntlet and having a look around the underbelly within 3 1/2 hours, which I did not expect from the tales from release and am still impressed by. Everyone had a great time, lots of laughs and great teamwork to get it down. The silence when the runners are running followed just by the 'top/middle/bottom' felt so good.

The first of many, and hopefully many others with new people. Getting to witness a guardian's first raid efforts is really something great.

Shame everyone only got tokens from it lol

Wait, have you been collecting your powerful/luminous engrams via milestones?

Even without infusion exotics to legendaries, those engrams should drop some legendary equipment above PL 265 to boost your PL's baseline.

Unless your RNG is so bad/good that all the high PL drops are exotics, making them impossible to multi-wear.

LOL then I simply don't understand the leveling system in this game. What are powerful/luminous engrams? All I get are Legendary, Exotic and Bright engrams. The only two 'Milestones' that appear for me in the menu are Leviathan raid and Trials of the Nine, neither of which I can do because I don't have a fire team. I've been stuck at base PL 265 all week. By dismantling and infusing exotics to legendaries I was able to get to PL 274. I just started doing Quests last night. I got Sturm which I guess is a pretty good primary but I ended infusing it with my Sunshot to boost the PL. haha I think I have no fing clue what I'm doing with this game

Did a public event yesterday outside failsafe, the giant servitor was invisible. But only for me, the other 2 guys kept shooting it.

In my game it was like it didn't even exist. It wouldn't even attack/teleport me. Once i triggered the heroic (easily, since i didn't get attacked) the giant servitor suddenly showed up.

They can take as little as 1-2 hours (one group did a speedrun in 25 minutes, but that's not normal).
However, I did my first raid last night and we spent about 2 hours failing the Gauntlet. We had it more or less down by the end but someone had connection problems and we decided to call it a night).

It is VERY mechanics driven, and understanding the rules and teamwork needed takes a lot of effort. However, I think most encounters are only hard when you don't understand it.

If you are doing a full blind run, it will take a VERY long time. Many mechanics are not obvious and recovering from deaths/mistakes is really hard (gauntlet even spawns extra enemies when you fuck up or die, making it a double bastard to recover).

Thanks to Bagerst and everyone else for the raid last night. Special thanks to the veterans for their patience in explaining the mechanics and organising our team strategy.

My not-so-pro tip for Gaunlet:
Use a solar energy weapon for the Centurions, break his shield then use Wardcliff Coil to finish him in one shot (assuming you got one from Xur last week). Centurions almost always drop a heavy ammo and wardcliff coil doesn't need good aim. Something like Curtain Call can do more damage, but if you miss the jump-jetting bastard then you're in the shit. A Merciless also makes it easy.

It's a common bug. Sometimes it happens on the tower for me. I'll spawn in the tower and there will be other players talking to npcs but the latter are invisible to me. I've never had invisible enemies, but I was playing with a friend once and he said that he wasn't seeing enemies in another area while we were patrolling (I think) on EDZ.

A solar Merciless also makes it easy, but mine was the wrong element

Merciless is always SOLAR. You can't change its element or get it to drop for some other element. Exotics always have fixed element, except Borealis and Hard Light, both of which allow element switching. Did you mean you were using a non-solar heavy?

The thing to remember is that you will be matching up to a pool that includes both sweaty flawless groups or just some casuals. The length of time it takes for you to get a win can vary wildly depending on how lucky your mm is.

For example, I expected to be stomped for at least an hour but my casual group managed to snag it on the second match we had.

Wardcliff can take out the big guy in 1 shot with his shield intact and merciless is always solar.

I see that there's another round of maintenance scheduled for this week that yet again fucks Europe.

I get that Bungie have to do stuff during US office hours, but if it's going to be the same shit every week then at this point they should be at least trying to find some way to compensate European players.

EU more like FU!

I'd like to know Bungie's reasoning behind no raid perks on raid gear, because what's the point of getting those gear if they don't have perks dedicated to the raid.

If they're really worried over players being obligated to use raid gear to get huge advantages (Which is a dumbfounded worry, TBH), they could add a second mod slot in raid gear where you can apply raid perk mods into them to it.

I'm guessing Bungie's philosophy of making everything achievable (or making sure everyone stays on an even footing, whichever makes sense) even if you're a "casual" extends to raid gear as well. So basically, they don't want the people who can't raid or won't raid to feel like people who raid are better than them and that they've been left behind. Again, Bungie are being dumb and bullheaded here, just like they are with their stance of not keeping pve and pvp separately balanced.

Sorry, I was wrong (I'll do a quick stealth-edit). I thought my Merciless was Arc, but I didn't have it with me to check. That's why I used Wardcliff, which was surprisingly effective.

I found it easier to use a solar Uriel to break the shield before using Wardcliff. While Warcliff can 1-shot, you need to be pretty accurate (and I'm not sure if it still 1-shots when gauntlet isn't in a higher level of the encounter rotation). It's not a hard fight but the consequences of messing up are high, so I didn't want to leave anything to chance.
