Wow, everything I've seen up to this point Forza 7 looked quite a bit better but as far as this video their is no denying Gran Turismo Sport looked much better...

Ones at sunset and the other is on an overcast day - pretty hard to compare them considering the vastly different lighting conditions.

Hmm, beta vs. final game comparison and the beta game looks best.

Full game of GT Sport looks even better than the beta.

No one can ever touch PD's lighting, but that doesn't mean other games still can't look amazing.

When you're the best in the industry at something, that means you're the best in the industry at whatever that thing is. Sometimes other parts of PDs games get matched or beaten graphically, but every generation they still manage to come out top with lighting. Driveclub at 30FPS still couldn't top PD, and you could argue it came close with some of the dynamic weather/lighting.

Different ToD. Useless.

Plus the best will be the one closer to real life. Where is the real life comparative?

I don't know how to explain it but in both the sky looks detached from the rest of the scene. Both games look good though. Prefer the asthetic of GT but Forza has come a long way.

I'm not noticing this big TOD difference. Looked the same to me.

Having a blast playing Forza 7 but regarding realistic colors, lighting and car models, PD is untouchable. But there's more to a racegame like graphics of course so no doubt that I will enjoy both a lot.

WHAT? You're telling me that one game looks better than another game in the same genre?

They both look great so focus on the gameplay instead.

I was about to ask if they botched matching the lighting conditions for the comparison before I opened it up. There it is.

The lighting tho

Especially compared the complex lighting on GT Sport car compared to basic lighting on Forza 7 looks like plastic flat toy car

Pointless comparison lol not even the same conditions

Plus YouTube? Who made this

Show the textures compared to each other too

I want to see the 4k assets in FM7

PC vs console and different times of day. Seems very odd comparison.

I guess even allowing for PC the Forza build will be optimized for console so surely the real comparison is Pro vs X (when that comparison can be made)?

Lol had to resort to a $500 machine that's not out yet to beat GT Sport

Hard to tell what looks better with such trashy video quality.
Forza surely doesn't look as washed out on my PC like in this video.

Will judge for myself when the GT demo soon hits PSN.

Honest question: are those 4K assets going to help the lighting models? Because that's the big standout here, for me at least.

The lighting makes all the difference. I'm sure Forza 7 in its stormy/rainy conditions will look great too but in this video GT Sport is the clear winner.

Forza holds a perfect 60fps at all times, GT has been very bad frame rate wise in the past. Is Sport any better?

Based on the last Digital Foundry video on it, with full car grid at the startup, the worse drop on the Pro was to the mid 50's with all the cars present. Otherwise its pretty much a smooth 60.

Definitely much better than GT6 was on PS3.

Now let's do a wet track comparison... oh wait we can't. ;)

On a more serious note, I'm not a blind Forza defender, I agree that it could look better, but we should remember about a few things:
- Forza will support more cars during the race
- Forza now has dynamic weather and time of day, we haven't seen any weather footage from GTS (not counting night races)
- Forza has more tracks and a shitload more cars in the game (to be fair they've reused a lot of assets but it's still a lot of content)
- Forza Motorsport games always offer steady 60fps and the new game is exactly the same, steady framerate even on the oldest XONE models

Ehhh I'll wait for DF to do their thing with the final products. I would think they would at least try to get ToD as close as possible because the lighting from that will be the biggest change in the way the games look.

Both games do look great though.

This is PS4 Pro vs a PC at max settings with no substance behind that statement(specs of computer, you can max out a game and depending on your rig not have all of the effects.) ... this is the most non technical comparison i have ever seen.. When they are both fully out and DF gets a real comparison, then a thread would be appropriate.

Left pic is way too oversaturated and looks like from a comic.
Personally I don't like that style.

Also there's the problem with different time of the day and the horrible compression

Edit:

It looks like he recorded Forza 7 at half the resolution and compressed the video way more :D

I remeber when I had the GT Sport beta I was always telling my friend that GT looked much better than the free pc Forza game at max in 4k, and that I doubt forza 7 would look better than GT sport because of that.
