Gran Turismo Sport vs Forza Motorsport 7 comparison with the Corvette C7

Here's a much closer time of day.

I recorded it with Shadowplay and it seems to have done something with the audio EQ, so excuse the fact that it's missing a bit of bass.

4K downsampled to 1080p, encoded at 1080p, 30fps, 25Mbps. Only 30fps but the footage is solid with no stutters from what I can see on a rewatch.
Much better.

Y'all also need to check out the comparison from a few weeks ago :

I remember this video, beautiful!

Your opinion is not a fact. Show some recipes.

Facts:
I saw both of them on an LG OLED 65, and Forza looks way times better. Difference is so noticeable that makes me think that people arguing this didnt play Forza 7, or its in denial mode, or anything else.
Again: The difference in IQ is substantial. Go check them both on an OLED TV and then lets talk again.

I was under the impression you can’t change times of day in Forza unless you used a consumable? (I’m serious)

Well any time you go to a track in career, it's part of the day/night spectrum randomly. There are specific mods that make a race harder for a bonus by like making it a night race. Free play I think you can choose a few condition variants, but it's still random versions of each of those (not all the storms are the same, not all the sunsets are the same, etc), but it's not down to specific time-of-day.

Now let's do a wet track comparison... oh wait we can't. ;)

On a more serious note, I'm not a blind Forza defender, I agree that it could look better, but we should remember about a few things:
- Forza will support more cars during the race
- Forza now has dynamic weather and time of day, we haven't seen any weather footage from GTS (not counting night races)
- Forza has more tracks and a shitload more cars in the game (to be fair they've reused a lot of assets but it's still a lot of content)
- Forza Motorsport games always offer steady 60fps and the new game is exactly the same, steady framerate even on the oldest XONE models

All of that is meaningless if you can't download the game due to sheer incompetence on Microsoft's side ;)

is it losing tho, or is is just more accurate and cars don't sound like airplanes

are you suggesting that the forza vette sounds like an airplane and the gt one doesnt? LOL. to be honest, ive never been in a race car of that caliber. but supposedly that whining noise is accurate and is due to the cars transmission. as for which one is more accurate? i wouldnt know. but i do know i prefer the sounds coming from forza.

I had this one with Driveclub about seeing it on a big TV and got no where, I don't think you will too.

Not seen GTS on a big TV myself, but man I'd love to play it.

How can you even say that when theres not even been a GT game to compare Forza to? 😂

Hence my post. We've yet to see a current-gen GT.
But if we look back, the graphical comparisons were always in favor of GT as far as I know.

They just take their sweet ass time to release a game. Everyone knows that. Or was that your attempt at a sick burn or something?

No, that's gameplay. GT has always been good looking, and Forza has always looked ok. Forza has been more fun to play for years though.

Too bad Turn 10 has decided to move in the arcade direction with Forza 7 physics wise, so that's probably not true anymore after GT Sport is out.

I generally like Forza sound better but they should definitely do something about car sounds never changing appropriately based on where the camera is. Especially with PD finally stepping up their sounds game.

Source?

They have, looking back towards the car you'll hear more throttle/intake-sounding audio and at the rear it's more raw exhaust sound. If you look at the side of the car you'll even take advantage of stereo and have one in each ear.

Feel like T10 needs to sort out the lighting in their engine going forward. Horizon seems fine but the Motorsport releases seem too over the top at times. Lighting is brilliant in GTS.

I played GTsport beta and Forza 7 PC demo Max in HDR on my 2017 LG oled, and didn't come to your conclusion. Only thing I liked about forza was the image quality and that was about it.

This is getting off-topic, so the only reply I will do on this topic.

Here:
As far as the car physics go - this game is simpler and less of a simulator than ever before in the franchise.

https://www.gamereactor.eu/reviews/594823/Forza+Motorsport+7/?page=1

This reviewer has reviewed every single Forza game for Swedish branch of Gamereactor. His favourite in the series is Forza 4, which he gave 9/10.

Also, the guy said "Forza is more fun"...does that mean the because the physics ain't as realistic (not going into there as I don't drive cars)...the game is less fun?

In racing games that aspire to be called sims? Absolutely.

The overall lighting? I don't know, just spitballing here.

Lighting is better, but now, when you see the heavy rain starts, the reflections on the track and cars all in crystal clear 4k native resolution... nah, my point is there.
Anyway, its not my job to convince anyone. Just my opinion ;)

This is bs, the game feels the same as 6.
Got to disagree there, it feels considerably different. I get the feeling that everyone who thinks "SIM" means "harder to drive". Forza 7 feels a lot better and feels planted. 6 was a bit unpredictable and messy physics wise IMO.

The entire tone of that article feels like the reviewer has a jaded outlook, and at one point he name drops a car as missing when it is in fact in the game. Whether or not he's reviewed every Forza game so far, I don't think I would take his word as gospel.

Play the demo.

He's right, Forza has been trying to be more Arcade than Sim for a while now.

I have more than 50 hours of game time on the full game. I have it open right now, and as a matter of fact I posted one of the comparisons in this thread. To me, Forza 7 feels like Forza 6 with driveline flex and a tad more grip/bouncy suspension feel. I know for a fact it isn't THE most realistic sim, but it's not "trying" to be arcade by any measure.

Is it missing, or hidden inside a loot crate?

I kid, I kid.

The same demo that had a ton of people saying they couldn't handle the Porsche?

So many people here just talk out of there ass with no basis in reality.
That Porsche is completely understandable. Takes 4 years to break, sticks to no road and handles unpredictability.

Especially on a track where the road surface would be like 50C 😂

Love that people are ignoring the videos where Forza doesn't look like somebody put a white blanket over it. Never change gaf

With assist off its incredibly hard to handle on that track, but turning on traction and stability control changes everything.

And try to brake instead of break, will do you wonders ;)

I have the game, and the game with the TCS off is trash, is nothing like a SIM or a real car... If you want a good review from a Sim hardcore perspective check this review. Nothing cant touch 4 in the Forza series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmbCZPJ1WBw&t=0s

The question was if they made it more arcadey since 6, not whether you like the handeling model. Anyone who says they have made it easier since 6 is incorrect.

The fact that this is a PC @ max is fucking insane.....wow does GTSport hold its own.....that engine that PD build everytime is utter magic.
