He called Evilore out on quadrupling down on attacking the character of the 'ex' (mental issues, she's a crazy bitch etc) and basically not even taking a moment to take account of his own actions and consider if he was in anyway untoward.

It's nothing which hasn't been brought up in this thread but I'm still glad to hear it from the guys on GB.

The allegations as they stand might be murky but admin has shown a lot of his true character these past few days and a lot of people are noticing it now
 
I keep reading about the peado mod in jail but what about the one who has his bond set at 100k? What's his story?

Not trying to victim blame, but I'm sorting this info out and am rather surprised at the reaction this is getting.

As if all the outraged people here who are intentionally getting banned would really seem so majestic if their private lives were as scrutinized as his.

Yeah, a lot of the members who left seem to forget that sexual relations are complicated and sometimes it can get awkward when you misjudge a situation.

Whoever is in charge, please restore the OT side. Crippling the site is fucking daft. If you can't handle the moderation load from two sides them temp some mods in to cover it. This is not the way. You cannot restore normality by only half.

My problem was more the whole. 'Fuck Donald Trump I hope he dies soon " or "Fuck all the police", that would pollute discussion with zero contribution. Character assassination etc. was often in poor taste and was not discouraged but fed. The double standards people exhibited when they abused someone in a comment, versus when someone would make a similar tweet of post outside their circle, was shameful. Feeds into the narrative that people are only progressive when it does not affect them. The whole "I only like free speech when it's mine" etc. Of course Nazis should be condemned etc. but nuance was severely lacking in certain threads. The witch-hunts were awful as well and the harm done to the accused sometimes was proportionally vastly more harmful than the "crime"( not saying this is the case here).

Always take the position that you are some degree wrong guys.

With that said, the OT was still a bastion on the internet and it is sad to see it go.

I was banned for pointing out that if you condone punching people just because they express fascist beliefs then you can't be surprised that fascists get away with punching lefties when they get the chance.

I was also threatened with a ban for asking a user whether or not their belief in exterminating fascists extended to the removal of Saddam Hussain.

The state of GAF, is that there is no GAF anymore. It was more than a name and a logo. It was the community. And now we can see how it's going to be moving forward. It's the base that's left. I said yesterday that it was becoming difficult to distinguish between voat users and people who started hating the place a few days ago. It will be great when this nonsense subsides. It is becoming super obvious that non-voat coordination is occurring as "ban me" attention whore posts come in waves of three.

I'll check back in a little while to see if there is an actual forum left. Right now it is looking like two different camps of people, neither of which is going to sustain the information flow that previously existed on this gaming forum. The other bout of irony is when the users dancing on the grave here become the target at their dramatically less popular new home. Same shit, different shovel. The same mistakes will be made, and the same problems will erupt. The discord is already a gigantic shitshow of the same pettiness and condescension that gradually doomed this place. I guess it takes a while, but every Dyack has his day.

These are the type of people I am talking about. If Evilore is not a sociopath, which I do not think he is. Than this is extremely hateful and as hurtful. "I hope you die" really? Bully.
 
Evilore just shot himself in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about sexual harassment culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in NeoGaf where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in real life, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the NeoGaf public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to contribute ad revenue, nor will they read any of Evilore's posts. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Evilore has alienated an entire market with this move.

Evilore, publicly apologize and restore OT or you can kiss your business goodbye.

I used to post in a really small niche OT where there was almost no drama and was like an oasis in comparison with more active threads. I hope this and many other OT's don't die and are back once the Community OT returns some day.

Doesn't surprise me. Some of the users were openly racist, but because it was white people they wanted to remove the vote from they got away with it. Madness. Jews were usually fair game in OT too.

Slayven and that little Hillary politburo in OT were the worst. Anyone who wasn't one of them was a nazi. Wonder if it'll ever dawn on them that some people are further to the left than they are.

Well, yeah. This forum was protected by a shield of people like you that shouted down any opposing viewpoint with harsh slurs. Who wants to be accused of being something they're not? So most people stayed quiet. They weren't alt-rights hiding, waiting for something [I'm sure a couple were]... but in general, people just did not feel safe speaking their mind.

You are part of a culture of fear. Fear of speaking. Fear of putting forth one's own opinion because they might get piled on as being a [whatever]. People can't even use common phrases, for fear they're taboo... 'free speech', in this case. Use the wrong phrase, get lumped in with Nazis. So people stay silent.

And now, yes, the shields are down. So people -are- speaking their mind. And because you're so used to painting anyone you didn't agree with as the worst of the worst, you suddenly think you're surrounded by the worst of the worst.

No. You're just exposed. You're just the emperor with no clothes. You think you are wearing the shining outfit of progressive thought, and you used it to paint everyone else as degenerates. But you were just naked, and low. "Then stop fitting the bill" my ass. You try to silence through accusation, thinking you're the higher ground when you can barely breath through the muck.

Don't get me wrong - I believe in many of the same things as you. I believe we always need to work towards a better world. I think many people are ignorant, and a surprising number of people entertain quite vile ideas. But where we differ is I don't assume anyone that disagrees with me must be one of those people, and I certainly don't accuse people of it on the drop of a dime. If someone asks me a question, I answer and try to educate [even if it's the tenth time I'm asked] instead of shaming them.

I know this won't stick, today. But maybe, someday... something in here will make it past your ideological shield and you'll realize I'm on your side. I'm trying to help you understand that we grow through discussion, not silence. I'm not saying we should have the scum of the earth here - we agree on that. But the issue is your brush is far too broad. Vile people exist. And they should certainly be dealt with - I'm perfectly fine with giving no quarter for abusive behavior. But that's not what was happening here [and your 'stop fitting the bill' comment is a perfect example of that].

I have always, and I will always say that people are a product of their environment. Under this context I choose to understand it and say I can treat them nicely at least, even if I do not like who they are or what they are.
