You acknowledged that sexuality is on a spectrum, and that's why you figure it can shift. Have you considered that the only people who are able to 'shift' to living a heterosexual lifestyle and still be happy and fulfilled may be close-to-centre on the spectrum? Maybe those people are just closer than others are to being straight. Or maybe they were bisexual, and so it was easier to just "pick" the opposite sex.
What happens to the people who are far afield on the spectrum? Can you acknowledge the possibility that 'shifting' toward the opposite end is not as easy for them and might be impossible?
