NieR Automata Xbox One UPDATE: Why NieR sequel won't be coming to Microsoft's console

If we're counting XB1's backwards compatibility - there are tons of Japanese games on XB1 (Radiant Silvergun, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Virtua On, Guardian Heroes, lots of shmups, to name a few). I might even prefer those offerings to other consoles.

If we're having to count Xbox 360 games, maybe Xbox One's exclusive games problem isn't exaggerated.

We should, especially considering the extra effort some of those BC titles receive. Panzer Dragoon Orta on the XBO:X is simply one of the best experiences this gen, even though it's a 2002(?) title.

Plus, Microsoft isn't making owners buy the game again just to play on the XBox One--if you already own it digitally or via disk, you still own it and it works.

On the dashboard of my Xbox One, I see a lot of fantastic games that I can't play on other current consoles. Who cares if it is a One, 360 or OG game ? They are all fantastic games, Panzer Dragoon Orta is one of my favorite games ever. Guardian Heroes, Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga are all gems. Catherine is also a real gem, and I have been able to play it on Xbox One for quite some time now, but not on any other current system. I can also play Jet Set Radio, another game I love. Ninja Gaiden Black etc...

What else can I say ? A great game is a great game. These older games run like a dream on Xbox One, and I can't play them on Switch or PS4.

If my Switch was actually backward compatible with my Wii U games, maybe I would be using it more. But in the current state, because I have to plug my Wii U to play them, I don't play on Wii U nor on Switch.

the BC is easily the best thing about the Xbox One, they've done a really good job with it, better than I think most people would have hoped. But if the argument is that Japanese games don't tend to get released on the Xbox One because there isn't as much of an audience as the PS4, then I'm not sure it works as a counter. We're not going to get a new Jet Set Radio because it sold ok 8 years ago

In the PC World this seems to be absolutely the case. More proof that Microsoft is trying to blend PC and Xbox. Overall I think it's a good thing, I welcome experiences playing with PC players. Hugs and handshakes all around.

Do we need a new one if we can play both the original Jet Set Radio and JSRF on the same console in 2018?

I mean...the answer is 'yes', but that's beside the point. Maybe. :D

I doubt Cygames is doing much outside letting them use their franchise.
