A few thoughts on Nier Automata (lttp)

It's not about that though. It's the entitlement that the game should have provided the "hype" by Ending A. Everyone has already explained this. OP just doesn't wanna say "I'm good. My loss."
I think he clearly understood after some many people being harsh to him to explain that he needs to play again.

Still he doesn't feel like continuing because the game was not that good till then. (And actually because people went over their head and called him bad names for not continuing, which is always a nice way to try convincing someone....)
He accepts the fact he will not see the good part.

I guess you didn't get the real message

Automata is based on a future so future that mankind died, the robots came and died, aliens came and died. The robots that left are a fluke of everything that ever existed, and they developed emotions based on what we used to do, and even treating humanity as gods to explain the whole creation thing. It's a full circle... for some. Other act rogue, or just don't mix with it. Even the character that you play eventually struggles to understand why and for what she is fighting for, which could be translated to our reality, since we are living day by day until we die and that's it?

By one of the endings of the game you can sacrifice yourself to save the world, but not a single trace will be left to disclosure that you were responsible for such thing. Did you never wonder that maybe this happened, happens or will happen with our world?

You did not get the real message.

Androids were created as a last ditch effort by humans to separate bady and soul to counter White chlorination syndrome, Humans died because androids developed feelings and started to believe themselves the real humans and rejected their role as empty vessels for the human souls to go back to. Of course the rest is wrong also but im not going to spoil it more because im tactful, unlike you.

Thanks, appreciate the reply.

You mentioned "worse gameplay" in part B. That brings to mind one additional reason I'm reluctant to play Route B. I'm being a little silly here, but I enjoyed watching 2B strut her stuff throughout the game. She was fun to just watch move. I am reluctant to now switch to watching 9-S's skinny ass instead. I'm not a big fan of his hacking minigame, either.

That hacking game is the only way you get to see the two best Easter-eggs in the game.

I bought on Steam a few years back, installed Special K and started playing. Once Route A was done I was put off by the backtracking as it really annoys me. I dropped the game.

A few months later can't remember why I decided to pick it up again and power through. I was glad I did. The game is really good and it dares to try some different stuff.

It's well worth it to go over Route B to continue.

By the time I finished the game I remember thinking the concepts and narrative was on the level of Hideo Kojima which is a big thing for me.

I'm on team over rated. Finished routes A-E and never really clicked with the game on any level that made me feel otherwise. I just never really cared about the story or I guess more accurately I never really cared about the themes yoko taro was trying to explore? Even the gimmick at the end about data that other people seemed to find really moving I was just meh about. Combat was serviceable but not great with swordplay mostly being mash light / heavy attacks at enemy. There wasn't nearly enough of the cool sort of hybrid shump stuff to make most of the combat encounters feel interesting. The only thing I'll hype about the game is the OST. The music is fantastic and 11/10.

The game is "interesting". It's rough around the edges but has some weird ideas to it. It's worth your time but not something I would tell people they need to play. I would never label it a masterpiece.

Everything you said doesn't null what I said since the subject didn't change

Can you remind me in spoiler tags?

I loved N:A and played about 99% of it but at this point a year or two later I remember less about it than I do of Nier on PS3.

First one isn't story related:
Hidden Boss in Amusement Park
Second one is right at the end:
The "Final Hack" during the end-fight as 9S

The second one is absolutely amazing.

Not going to ruin the surprise, because the payoff is just such a cool reveal.
I looked up a video as soon as I saw your post as I won't be returning to it any time soon. Very cool. Both unexpected and exactly the sort of thing I'd expect Nier to have.
