Imagine being such a loser that you feel the need to go troll on a forum because it allows political discussion of views that you don't like.
Yet, there are a lot of low post count, barely full member by post quantity but still ancient accounts who activate and post in contentious threads to stir up shit, and it has been happening more frequently lately. Some people must be feeling uncomfortable that this site can exist and allow free discussion of ideas. I'm sure he isn't the only one doing it.

People can feel sorry for someone's personal situation yet still chuckle on the combination of someone's commentary combined with their post count. That is literally the chuckle part as it does not burst anyone into laughter.

The Names = A subpart of the staff known for retroactively enforcing policies. Also the kind of names you see pop up on other sites.
The Little Helpers = The members, and they don't have to be prominent, who bait people into a ban or retroactively see only warnings attributed to their account where others would eat perms. Includes, but aren't limited to former staff members, OldGAF members, industry analysts, Community Resettlers and Kiwifarm's branded VIP's.
Together they form the driving force between the negative imagery enstilled at ERA. The Rest are just people like you and me, and its this group that will be subject to bans, - The Herd, sort to say.
I wonder what GAF will do. Yes, its quite hypocritical of me to say this since i am one of the bigger posters here, but i feel as though we are talking in circles about ERA. That its a shithole, people with other opinions get banned and OMG this guy got banned with a weird ass reason.
How can we move GAF forward coming from the ERA discussion? I am for a more analytical discussion than pointing-and-laugh/angry talks more and more, but that's just me though.

There should certainly be coverage when something inane is going on, but id prefer a analytical approach rather than the same commentary saying ''ERA really shows itself: Everyone providing alternative thought is banned'' and variations on this theme.
I mean, hear hear, being one who spurred this myself, but i think most GAFfers have an idea what a lot of ERA, not all of it, stands for.

I use to have a lot of fun with the Vestibule, but the reason Resetera shows up more is because they take themselves seriously.
Like, if I quoted someone at random from Gamefaqs, I would have no idea who that person is or if they're just posting for the lawlz. But with Reset, almost every person has some form of history that says "yes, I am really crazy and believe the stuff I'm saying".
And lastly, there's the industry connection. IGN, Gamefaqs, SA serve their purpose as message boards. No one is really suppose to take their stuff at face value since it's just chatter.
But with Reset, they do make efforts to involve themselves with the game industry. Whether it's actual developers/journalists who post there, or when Reset launches campaigns aimed at shaming developers. That's why I want to bring attention to these things.

It's a toxic environment operated by severely dysfunctional, incompetent people wholly unsuited for their roles in most cases. There is no impetus for change, no apparent interest in acknowledging or addressing concerns that are presented to the administration respectfully and constructively, and dozens of "what the fuck?" moments to justifiably criticize. It's not going to improve, and you're going to continue getting frustrated and writing long posts about the injustices, incompetence, hypocrisy, protected classes, abuses of power, etc. etc., every day that place is still afloat.
They rejected you, and you take strong issue with numerous aspects of how they operate.
This board's administration and community are generally happy to have you around and any time there's friction there it can usually be solved directly with a mutually respectful conversation between adults, yeah?

Quite a bit has changed since June-July. Post activity has soared since then (~300% or something), we successfully split off-topic and politics into separate primary boards, which drastically improved the tone of off-topic and gave more space and a clearer framework for challenging debate on political matters for the folks interested in that. We changed our ad serving to a strictly clean solution and addressed the malicious redirect issues people were having on mobile. We recruited additional moderators to the team to help with coverage and the introduction of the politics board. We also custom implemented a bunch of expressive emoticons from our favorite legacy emoji sets and that's been built out pretty nicely with four big packs beyond the default set now live.
We're working on the design overhaul on the daily here still, but we weren't satisfied with how it turned out as delivered, so we're reworking it ourselves and making sure it's as good or better than the existing design by every relevant metric, polished, integrated with the current design's custom features, and will feel intuitive and comfortable to our users.
It's in our hands directly at this point though so it's no longer a matter of conveying a third party's estimated completion date. We'll get 'er done.

If anyone is looking for a quick ban, post in that thread the curious fact that Bolsonaro actually won an outright majority of votes cast (55% to 45%). The majority of voters wanted Bolsonaro. This isn't a Trump situation where he won with a minority of total votes because of an indirect voting system (electoral college). He won an outright majority.

He actually didn't since we had 30%+ "invalid" votes (blank, null votes and absences). and blank votes for some inane decision default to the candidate ahead here in Brazil, so they were all credited to bolsonaro.
He had the majority of the people who voted (actually not even that, just the majority of valid votes) - not the majority of the country. It's an important distinction. Please, people, i know its fun to laugh at era but if you don't know about the political situation of a country, just don't post.

What does that mean credited to him? In France we don't count the blank votes so that one of the 2 last candidates has a +50% count but they are not given to anyone.
