I'd say the thread title is absolutely over the top however if the guy is going around making racist and homophobic jokes I would probably dump him as a friend as well. He's asking for the opinion of other people and they are willingly giving it.

I would hope some of this stuff is not normal conservative values because you would be kind of proving Resetera's point that all conservatives are trash.

I usually just read the political stuff when I read over there. I also saw how they operated over here too. I'm sure they disagree on things outside of politics, but politically speaking they are horrified of opposing views. It's literally an evil to them.

I typically just look through the political threads since I find those topics most interesting for debate. That's where all the crazy bans are. The reason I left the forum is due to the hostility and calls for violence against Republicans. I don't visit too often anymore. All those threads have been the same for awhile now since debate never existed and only one viewpoint is allowed.

I agree if it is not about political or social issues the place isn't too bad. Sometimes politics leak into other gaming threads though.

Danny has always been a vitriolic person. This really came out the last few years and one of the many reasons I will continue to refuse to watch NoClip documentaries. I have no interest in giving that man money or views. I always had more respect with Adam Sessler, though I have never really followed him through his transition between Rev3Games and where he currently is. Seems like he has fallen deep into the rabbit hole of the far-left.

Apparently he has recently lost his mother and had back surgery. Not sure if this played a role in his caustic attitude, but I still have fond memories of his past actions. I really hope he becomes less hateful over time.

The second is not a defining quality of being far left. I am an adherent of democratic socialism, which would certainly qualify as far left (though not as far as communism)*, but a neoliberal or conservative does not support Hitler, is Hitler, or agrees (on most points) with Hitler. I am also in no way pro violence. I am, on the contrary, a pacifist and am supportive of absolute gun control (no private person may wield a gun).

*According to the Wikipedia definition I would still fall within the standard left, but in the terms commonly used in US-centric forums I would qualify as far left. Certainly left of Sanders and people were complaining about his extremely left-leaning positions.

Far left is based on the need of progressing on everything without thinking if something needs progression or not.
Its the change for the sake of change.

And it's promoted by people who have the single neurone to not just shit theirselves.

I was happy with Clinton but the tribalism within the democratic voter base was damn well toxic.

I would say "evil" is far too strong a word, but to me if you support Republicans you are at the very least not a good person in my opinion. You didn't deserve a ban though if thats all you said. I would need to see the original post though to be sure. Some of the mods are way too harsh and since there is no set guidelines on punishments it all comes down to which mod gets your report.


Some won't even bother with a warning and others with hand out bans for the same kind of post. Some are strict and some are lenient. Some have a sense of humor and others don't. Its one of the many issues the site has in terms of moderation. Its why some of us pushed for more specific guidelines on punishments so there could be more consistency across the board rather than leave it up to each individual mod to decide. In fact thats actually why you see "duration pending" so often now. In those cases its decided by one of the mod captains or by a group of mods what punishment is handed down rather than just whatever mod responds to the report deciding. Its an attempt at more consistent moderation.

The pick above is also one i can highly recommended if one is interested hearing from the bee's knees what the Sonderkommando, the cleaning unit of prisoners in Auschwitz after the gassing had to endure. Amazingly, some survived, and then there is this story.

About the bolded it depends on the thread really, i saw some threads with good advice for depressed/worried people but i also saw horrible advices there, it depends really.

But one place in particular in that i think truly help their members to the best of their capabilities is the OT for Mental Health, i saw plenty of good advice and positive posts, always encouraging those who are down to search for medical help, among other things.

I partly disagree with you, in gaming side i never saw unfair bans for disagreements about games in general, in fact i think they do a good job of moderating console wars and such.

But as soon as you enter any remotely political thread there, even on the gaming part, if you disagree with the majority you will get banned, and no one is pretending this. See Threads about Valkyria Chronicles 4, Cyperpunk, Kingdom Come Deliverance, among others.

Tell me if you dont find even one unfair ban on these threads.

I wont even bother with off topic because you know any thread there is a minefield.

Really? That is disappointing coming from you. Despite our disagreements on things, I always try to give you the benefit of the doubt and thought you were better than this. I always thought you at the very least, despite our differences in opinion, could sit down and have a beer, agree to disagree (and agree on some things too) and share some snarky laughs together and actually be friends were we ever to meet outside of a message board. You are better than this. Take off those partisan blindfolds.

Where did he say generally? Even if so that means for the most part.

I am a Democrat by the way. Republicans for the most part are good people. Democrats for the most part are good people. There are extremists on both sides we need to watch with critical eyes, but the general electorate are good people looking out for what they think is best.
