What's a completely useless interesting fact you know

You cannot see the great wall of China from space. A useless fact that counteracts an even more useless fact that everyone believes for some reason.

There are actually 2 species of daddy long legs. One of them is poisonous when they bite, the other is poisonous when they are eaten. One is also a spider, the other is not.... you can tell if it has 2 body segments or 1.


I also have a uncanny ability to identify actors in commercials and connect them to other commercials.
 
That women have a stronger sense of smell than men do, for which the biological function is to detect another woman's scent on their mate.

I just saw this recently, it may have been here in the black hole thread, but it still kind of blows my mind how I never thought about the difference between these numbers like this ad how far apart they actually are.

and kangaroos can't hop backwards and crocodiles/alligators have to stop completely to change direction

Does this happen? I feel like it would simply ghost ride until it leaned one way or the other, I don't think I've ever seen a riderless bike self correct it's path until it slows down but maybe I'm misremembering.

Peter Cushin wore slippers when playing the role of Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars. The riding boots apparently gave him gyp so Lucas let him wear a pair of comfy slippers instead.

Type IX German U-Boats of WW2 had two toilets but only one was available at the beginning of a voyage. The other was customarily stuffed to the brim with food in order to maximise the time that the boat could stay on patrol. That's right, Godless Nazi submarine toilets were quite literally a German sausage fest.

The slang T-Rex is actually a very common misspelling. It's actually T. Rex. as T-Rex implies the combination of the words rather than abbreviate it (like it's literally a T-Rex, a Rex that is a T) whereas T. (Which is meant to represent the abbreviation of Tyrannosaurus) Rex means exactly how it sounds.
 
the interior of the Great Pyramid is designed so that once you get to the top chamber with the sarcophagi, there is a very high ceiling, and the walls are at very sharp 90 degree angles, so that all sound in the room reverberates for quite a while. it's like you entered some echo chamber.

Bed bugs reproduce by the male using its dick to stab the female through the abdomen. Female bed bugs actually have a genital tract that is used for laying fertilized eggs, but for whatever reason they don't use it for mating and instead the male has evolved a spiky claw penis, and the female has evolved organs at different points in the abdomen that carry injected semen to the ovaries.

The first # on a zip code dictates what area from the US it's at Example West Coast CA etc zip codes start with 9 and steadily counts down to 0 (deviates a little with some states) which is the beginning # of the zip codes from the farthest Eastern Part of the USA.
