They will. I’m sure they do something dumb like calling it Episode Midgar (or the Resitance) there’s no way it doesn’t have a subtitle.they better make that crystal fucking clear or they will be sitting on a nice lawsuit

Even if they called it FF7 Midgar, people who haven't played the original FF7, still don't know what Midgar is, and can still confuse this for a full game. The fact is the only way to solve this is to either add a lame subtitle like "Part 1" or "Episode 1", or for people to wise up and look it up.
Edit: Also anyone who knows SquareEnix knows this practice is nothing new, started with FFX which concluded on a cliffhanger, did people expected a sequel? No, but we got one anyway. FF13 was also planned in 3 parts, but the first one was simply called FFXIII. I don't hear anyone crying about those being in parts, because people just accepted it. As games get bigger and more complex, this will become more and more the norm.
When will the full game be ready to buy? That's all i care about.
I'm not buying FF7 just to play a little bit of a game. I've waited this long, I can wait a bit longer for the full game
Welp I hope you didn't play The Last of Us part 1, because you only played a little bit of the game, before part 2.
What does TLoU have to do with FF remake?
You're talking shit.Nothing, I'm just saying any game that has a sequel can be considered part 1 of a whole. FF7 Remake Part 1 is a full game in of itself, with a beginning and end, and full experience, without the need of playing any of the subsequent games, to get a full understanding of it.
You're talking shit.
Why would I be talking shit, did I say something you don't understand?
So you think remaking an old game chopping it into 3 parts, padding it out, and charging full price for each part and calling it a series is OKNAl1210 and Gashtronomy, maybe you should think of this game less as in "parts" and more as "game 1" in a series.
I don't personally understand the sentiment of, by default, expecting a game to always reach a conclusion in its story, plenty of books end with a cliffhanger with no indication in its title.Even if they called it FF7 Midgar, people who haven't played the original FF7, still don't know what Midgar is, and can still confuse this for a full game. The fact is the only way to solve this is to either add a lame subtitle like "Part 1" or "Episode 1", or for people to wise up and look it up.

If that's the way they are going and greatly expanding on it and making it into a trilogy or series , I personally think they should actually drop the remake part of the title and give each game a subtitle that is fitting for each partYes I do actually, because it's not the old game, is a full blown remakes with enhanced graphics, dialogue voice acting that probably takes up 3x the space of a movie or most games, and each game is expanded drastically in every way compared to the original. So yeah, I'm totally fine with them charging full price for a full game, even if it has future sequels.

Not really when it comes to the last of us argument, I have never played the game so don't know if it ends on a cliffhanger if a part 2 was ever planned initially, but it really seems like a stupid argument, did you feel like you only seen half a film when you realised there was a god father part 2,I was pissed off when a part 3 was announced cause that was clearly just made for a payday, video games get sequels and turn into franchises all the time if they sell, no one has remade an old game and expanded it that greatly to turn it into a trilogy, and charge full price for each part though, which I don't even know if that's the case or not, or if it will just be an episodic release that we have seen many times beforeBut going back to The Last of Us argument, other developers have done the same and no one has batted an eye for them. Pretty hypocritical don't you think?
Its a remake
Thry can do whatever thry want they dont own us shit.
I keep wondering if this game is just Midgar, what the hell do the rest of the games look like, and how many are we looking at?
Maybe my memory is fuzzy, but Midgar felt like a tutorial area for the original game, not a part one, but rather a prologue for the rest of the friggin' game. Sure, they can add stuff, and maybe try stretching it out if they want, but they better be adding ALOT to make it a worthwhile full game experience.

Anyone who complains about the absence of the wording "Part 1" in the title of Final Fantasy VII Remake, in fact already knows that the game is divided into parts.
Thank youWat
This thread is about the many people who'll buy the game, reach the end and realize 'oh, that's only part of the story?!'.
The comparisons to TloU2 are ridiculously. TloU2 is a regular sequel. FF7R March 2020 just a part of a game.
. i don't see a scenario where someone buys a $60 game HD remake of a game they love and yet they do no research at all to see what it is they are purchasing.it doesn't make logical sense it would happen at all. why are we so concerned
Most people outside of Internet forums go to a store, look at a box and decide if that looks interesting. Also, there are probably enough lapsed-gamers who played PS1, quit gaming due to life™, and now happen to be back, but with less time investment.
You're incredibly dishonest to dismiss these people.
Well... at least SquareEnix has proven they can count to 3.
I wonder how many people (who are aware of this) will be waiting until it's finished to purchase. I'm not buying a remake in parts.
Yes, dito
No you won't, sjws don't buy games, they just troll and complain. Nice try with this thread though![]()

NGL gaming most likely has the stupidest consumers out of any business. Was it right to sell FFXV in the state it was in at release. No, but they did anyways.
This is the way of the gaming world - sell an unfinished product initially a d make customers pay for the complete experience (i.e. paid DLC for the additional content).
What about games planned to be a three part story from the start, such as Mass Effect?
