could be similar to the concord crash decades ago where the plane ran over some debris on the runway which caused the tire to explode and fly into the wing/engine.

Very likeley that some debris was hit on takeoff - affecting landing gear and causing the contained engine failure.

There were reports that the same airport was closed earlier in the morning due to reports of drones. I really hope the two are not linked in any way.

I think one of the people said one of the front tires came off during takeoff and went into the engine. So not good, but didn't doom the plane thankfully.

I read the plane model is almost 30 years old? What a solid good plane design unlike Boeing nowadays.
