Demon's Souls is definitely a great game, but it is janky as fuck. Simply being at 4K 60 won't really change that. If Bluepoint do remaster it, they could do a lot to polish the game up. If not with the gameplay, but visually as well.

Hmm it definitely reads to me as if the PS5 engineer was taken aback and it will only be RDNA 1 in the PS5 despite what he said later on to try and "cover his tracks".
In any case Microsoft has created a very viable alternative to the PS5 so congratulations to them. The PS5 radio silence is annoying now even to me a massive PS4 fan (added with the lack of shows this last year and off hand comments regarding gamepass, refunds and cross play), they really need to come out swinging and soon. I left the 360 for the PS4 because of MS's attitude the second half of its life cycle, I've done it once and I'll do it again if I feel one company is better than another.
Naughty Dog are my favorite developers but with their newest game coming out on the PS4 it will likely be years before they release a game on the PS5. So yeah definitely going to be a carefully weighted decision over which console to get first... and that makes it very exciting

If pc hobbyists can do it to a good degree of accuracy reverse engineering it, sony paid employees with all the documentation required certainly can. Heck give that info to the hobbyists and rpcs3 would be neigh on 90% compatibility already.

Probably a super silly question/theory here, but what if Sony went for a totally custom RT route for PS5 thinking MS wouldnt invest in it at all... like Cell Processor kind of custom.
And then what if it complicates game design for multiplatform titles if MS solution and Sony solution dont play nice together? As in screwing with porting games across platform etc.

If anybody could pull it off outside the stout RPCS3 guys, it would be the original creators of the system.
That being said--as miraculous as that "bomb" would be, it is still a mirroring of what Microsoft is doing with BC.
I don't know what major "bombs" Sony could have save for software, if the edge is so minimal.
The only other thing that would line up for *me* in terms of "bombs" would be killer launch titles, resurrection of long-demanded franchises or studio acquisitions / exclusivity deals on a reasonably decent scale(i.e. Respawn, etc.)

The 12TF number is huge (IMHO). I'm impressed and intrigued. My only odd thoughts about the news comes from looking at the way they've ordered the capabilities – as I would assume you lead with your strongest cards – and placing Variable rate shading (a rasterization technique) more prominently that RT, and then for them to omit RT transparency or semi transparency in the DX RT info makes me question how next-gen looking the console will be with is 12TF. Hopefully these are just reveal mistakes and nothing more.

Glad to see rdna2 was confirmed it made perfect sense as I posted before if it had the new TMUs and CUs of rdna2 why would they stop there. Also common sense won out 400mm die and case designed to cool gets us a solid 12tf. Nice to see a confident MS sure they are going crushed but maybe they can bring some competition and get Sony to move to more consumer friendly.
