I wish International Women's Day (and same with IMD) could be a neutral day for celebrating women, defeating stereotypes and highlighting issues for women. Oh and debating on problems and solutions. However, it has since its inception been entirely left-wing propaganda device.
While suffrage was fought by a broad spectrum of women, the IWD has been utterly driven by left-wing parties. This remains a case to this day, with Norway having examples of right-wing women participating in IWD being harassed by left-wing women. There's a reason why a lot of center or right-wing tend to avoid the day. There's a reason why those marching on IWD call themselves "rødstrømper" (redstockings).
Whenever I read the articles during IWD I'm reminded at how many crazy people are given the spotlight because of this day. You'll see bold claims being thrown out, most of which are either patently false or misleading. Often it's a day for repeating things that might've been true decades ago or conflating global issues with national issues.
Honestly, it's a day when a minority of left-wing radical women are given attention to repeat their narratives. "<This left wing opinion> on <whatever political issue>". Which is kind of sad and there's been a lot of women who've noted this and how it's pretty much a partisan joke day.
For IWD I drove my wife and daughter on a fishing trip (her choice, as I'm definitely not into fishing).

Younger me might have cared about this, but being grown up, I can't celebrate another gender.
It doesn't mean I hate women, but I have felt backstabbed by some of them the same way a Man goes out of his way to screw over another guy. Being female isn't a blank check to not be criticized.
Rather than focus on "equality" I care about understanding both genders are different and have their own needs. Trying to force one or the other to be the exact same hasn't produced good results IMO.
