Midsommar

All I'll say is why didn't Will Poulter play the British guy? Seeing as he's British

Yet he played an American.

Overall it was a great watch, and would be interested in watching something similar. The end scene was a little distressing.

One of my favorites from the last chunk of years definitely. The final scene was truly horrifying in a non-jump scare way.

Cool topic. Also the movie was a pos so whatever. Fight me.

After watching drinker review (full of spoilers obviously) this movie sounds a lot like The Wicker Man but without all the fun Nicolas brings

It was okay but the main protagonist was somehow insufferable for me :ROFLMAO:

The previous film from the same director was miles better (and far better acted)

Really? She was practically the only lead who I didn't want to punch in the face in the movie.

Christian was an asshole who gaslighted her and was clearly going to cheat on her even if when he did it he wasn't really in control. He also steals Josh's idea for his thesis.
Josh knew what an attestupa was (based on his reaction when Pelle tells his what will happen tomorrow) yet did nothing to warn her about the details. Knowing what she just went through, this also makes him an asshole.
Mark is ironically the one who is the least mean to her, just kinda ignores her, but constantly insults and disrespects the people of the commune even before things start getting weird.
Pelle is of course leading most of them to their deaths (like, yes they're assholes, but none of them deserve THIS), and takes advantage of Dani's fragile state.
Simon and Connie are the only two who seem like relatively decent people, but they're not focused on much and are removed much earlier than the others.

The chick at the end is happy that all of his friends are dead basically, and just because a bunch of mad people is accepting her in their crazy circle.

The laugh at the end was too much.

Heaving been a part of one when I was growing up, this movie was a trip down memory lane. It's certainly effective for what it is trying to do. The original The Wicker Man is a more enjoyable film, but for a modern movie it wasn't too bad. Go in blind and you'll like it more.

She was most likely drugged, and had been slowly brainwashed by Pelle and the others over the week which was easy to do as she was still vulnerable from her family tragedy not to mention we saw how easily Christian manipulated her the entire movie, convincing her that she was the one always wrong even when it was clearly he who was in the wrong.

Also, LMAO, "friends". If my friends treated me like that, well I wouldn't wish for their deaths, but I'd kick them out of my life at a speed that would make Barry Allen gasp.

The original Wicker Man is definitely a better film.

Midsommar was ok. Fairly boring and predictable. Not a film I'd bother to watch again.
