All The Last of Us 2 leaks/spoilers in here and nowhere else.

Hardly.

Every other studio would use as a chance to advertise who well they treat their own employees. Top it off with these story leaks, half the industry is going to be laughing their asses of at NG.
Ehhh, not quite. Any employee willing to leak an entire game over a pay dispute is going to be hardcore blackballed. If they did it before, they'll do it again.

Sure, they'll capitalize off it, but things will not go well for the leaker themselves.

Still it's not fulfilling for the character, he's survived for decades only to be killed by some random group.
I understand why some would find that frustrating, but personally I don't.
It feels very much in line with the chaotic and violent world of TLOU where the life expectancy is very short. I hate it more when writers give characters plot armor just because they're beloved by fans.
As Joel you kill so many people and you canonically survive every violent encounter or dangerous scenario. It makes sense for that same danger to fall on a character that exists within that world. It makes the stakes much more believe. It would be weird if he was impervious

It's the opposite of a series like Uncharted. Where you're meant to be the action hero of an action adventure movie, and have 9 lives.

Ffs Druckypoos! Wtf is this shit?

Why do these SJW types always insist on making their stronk wimmin look like dog rough munters?

Feminist eye armour for imaginary digital crumpet will never not be ridiculously funny.

Because feminism is the hatred of all femininity and all that makes women gracious and beautiful both spiritually and physically.

Feminists suffer from a severe case of "man envy" and wish to turn their women into men as close as possible.

In the process, they create a disgusting, ugly and unattractive creature at every level, spiritual and physical.

I'm seeing this sentiment a lot in light of the spoilers. Joel and Ellie are assholes. Shitbags, honestly. The fact that I'm being asked to play as another character and murder them doesn't discourage me much. I always assumed ND would deviate hard from a narrative repeat of the first game, and I'm glad they have.

There's also the fact that none of these "leak" revelations are at all surprising.

We knew from the start that it was about Ellie on a mission of vengeance from the get go, and Joel's death was heavily foreshadowed in the first trailer.

The 2nd chunk of footage didn't feature Joel or Ellie at all, suggesting pretty strongly that the game would feature new protagonists for at least part of ots length.

The third reveal introduced Dina, and finally offered an alternative (if not particularly compelling) candidate to Joel to provide the crucial motivation for Ellie's vengeance arc.

The gameplay footage shown a bit later played with expectations a bit more with the horseback ride with Dina being juxtaposed with a helpless Ellie forced to watch someone (unseen) being vicimized. Obviously, by this point Joel was back to being the likely "victim" which is why they revealed Joel (for the first time) shortly after in the other chunk of gameplay. People were still questioning that he was a ghost/memory/halluncination though.

So basically, that kinda covers most of the "major spoilers". Much of the rest is the usual suspects looking for reasons to be offended and outraged by the creative choices not reflecting their political beliefs (Resetera-style), or because they are playing console warror games.

Kinda pathetic if you ask me, especially when its so blatantly disingenuous.

Modern day feminism: men and women are exactly the same, but women are superior, this is kind of ironic.

Honestly, there is a bit of a desire for chivalry in this view of things (they want men to give them everything... which is in a sense what we tend to do for women anyway, they ask and often our first reflex is to give whatever was asked for). However, the problem is that if you apply the ideology completely there is no real place for men in the whole thing, there is no upside to be masculine (we all know they often prefer masculine and especially toxic men anyway, but this is not what their scripture tells them to do).

Anyway, I think that most people who get overly worked out for examples such as the one above as far as body type (she looks solid, but certainly not masculine)... the only thing I find questionable is the number of people who live off of robbery, killing, looting, etc. in this world, after society collapse most would have to go back to farming, owning little farms and subsist / defend themselves, 40 years or so in those who don't have skills they can live from would all have died a long time ago... and women on farms, or small villages, those who life off of manual labor, give birth in dangerous conditions, they kind of have to end up looking a bit more buff than the modern hyper hot "sex toy" women (I say sex toy in the sense that this is how they behave, and their looks are decidedly meant to attract men)... you don't have energy to waste on this when death lurks behind every three.

I don't think SJW type issues would be at the top of the agenda for people in this world, gay people would probably be persecuted (depending where you live), so that part is definitely credible... That a group of them decide to get back at a group who hunts them out, this is not surprising either.. the problem is that with a gay village there would not be a second generation, but they could as easily just recruit those who are hunted out of places where they are not welcome, this is the kind of knowledge people pass around orally.

That being said, Joel is a character I loved, seeing him in this situation made me hate the other guys Ellie's "friends"... I hope they have a good reason to do this, and I hope Ellie does something about it.... but it does not seem to be what the game is about.

This leak happened over a pay dispute at ND? ?
There is no source whatsoever for this.

An artist from Santa Monica Studio liked a tweet about a Brazilian translator doing these leaks.
Which is apparently why some games don't do localizations their anymore.

I said it once and I will say it again, that John Schlong guy was reuploading footage.

I would be so mad if I were sony or Naughty Dog right now. That being said the game looked great. I noticed a little load in with the grass. Big spoilers.. They should just release it now. I feel like more is gonna be leaked.

Horrible precedent in the industry. If it happens at ND it can happen anywhere. Studio heads will become paranoid everywhere and this quite frankly makes everybody lose.

Spoilers ......these may be actual spoilers so dont click
So Joel is killed very early on by this Cult...The Cult has some link to the doctor that Joel killed at the end of part 1....Ellie also dies...apparently you spend a large chink of the game playing another character...sounds like a Metal Gear Solid 2 Bait and Switch

It's funny how y'all are talking shit about the plot, characters etc. and then, when the game will come out, fucking everyone (not you guys, but people in general) will praise the "narrative" as the second coming of Christ, regardless of how bad/cringy it's going to be. It will be seen as a 10/10 GOTY masterpiece, you know that. They're been doing that with every PS4 exclusive for years. The most mediocre shit gets praised like they haven't played a video game before.

not reading anything in this thread, but if it's mostly leaked, just release the damn game already. i got a physical ff7 and that did great. most people who really want a physical will get one, or just order digital and hold out for it later.

Think the leaker said she doesn't die.
The first leak said that she dies, the second guy denied that.
Thing is, the first guy got right the Abby stuff. The reddit post was describing a comment from a YT video so there's a chance he messed up some things.

So wonder what their position is now that the major points of the game have been leaked
i would simply hurry the fuck up and release it digitally before most people experience the game on youtube

Still haven't played the first game but this one sounds demented enough to peek my interest.

Always wanted to play like a JRPG where
Half-way though the game your whole established party gets full on killed by the main villain, except for their sidekick and then you continue the game as the sidekick in a different way. Never thought of actually playing the villain to do the deed though.

Man, assuming it's all true, I don't like it one bit. Not a single plot development is how I actually wanted this to go and since the first trailer, I've been worried the direction they were going to take Ellie and Joel's arcs were not going to be to my liking. That's exactly what happened. It's so predictable, but also takes it in directions that feel like an unnecessary "ramp up" or twist compared to the first game and Left Behind. Oh well.

Is it just me, or do these writers seem traumatized by the criticism they read on the internet? It's almost comical how obviously these people (seem to) react to criticism. People complained about not having the choice to spare the surgeon, and Druckmann's response is seemingly: "I-i-it's an important plot point for the sequel guys!" The trauma of Drake being a 'mass murderer' makes a return as well, as they try to get the player to question the main characters' violent behavior. In a shooting game...

I just don't think that stuff works. It's an action game with a huge focus on combat. Shooting enemies is to be expected, and trying to get players to question that, just doesn't work. If you wanted to have a message of "violence/revenge is bad" then why did you make a violent video games where people's guts fall out?

On the gameplay itself, it looks virtually identical to the first game. You wait 5 years to end up playing pretty much the exact same game, but with a bad plot and an ending for the characters many won't find satisfying. Kind of a waste, but also to be expected. TLoU really didn't need a sequel. TLoU2 only proves that, by how much they've had to twist and turn it into horrible shapes to get something of a follow-up out of it.

I agree and disagree. With the way TLOU handles it, I agree. With the way games like Hotline Miami and Spec Ops The Line handles it, I disagree. It all depends on the narrative and the storyline, something which TLOU isn't compatible with.
