Incel Weeb "Davido" Give Tour of House

Anime is an amazing art form and I don't care what anyone says!

At the same time, Japan is nothing like what anime depicts, but it does sometimes show a different side to Japan depending on th show you watch.

I dont know why people look down on anime when I've personally enjoyed it for the past 10 years or so.

Makes sense if you didn't grow up with anime as a child, which I did as well as my family (Captain Tsubasa).

Anime is an amazing escape from reality, and unfortunately, some people gets so sucked into the escape that they think this is how they should live their lives in fantasy 24/7 so they move to Japan.

That country has some amazing cultural values and some UN-amazing cultural values too, especially if you grew up in the West.

If you really love Japan, then you should embrace the fact that anime isn't their only product when it comes to art. They have a rich history that deserves to be known about if you plan to visit Japan at the very least.

I look forward to evolving from a sensible otaku to a fully fledged Japan enthusiast.

Try and get there ASAP. I fucking love Japan, but mainly the car/street racing culture. And also hot naked spas. Hate anime though.

I "grew up on anime" from ages like 8-12, Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball and Miyazaki. The only stuff I've watched since then is Miyazaki and Makoto Shinkai's work - but the latter mainly for reference for drawing, he does beautiful scenes.

But yes it's like watching some cartoon in the West and assuming everyone in the West talks like they do and acts like they do in the cartoons.

You realise he's probably married with kids to some Japanese chick now? On the other hand, weebs on places like ResetERA dream that they could meet an actual Japanese person in real-life if only they could leave their mum's basement.

That video seems quite old. "Lucky Star", "School Days", "Clannad", that's from 2007 if I recall. And as much as I love Eva, it certainly attracts a lot of weirdos. Waifu wars were a mistake...

I was on the verge of becoming a Davido at that time. Then I started going on conventions, witnessed a fuckton of them (those 30-year old manbabies doing the Hare Hare Dance, brrr...), cringed a lot, and noped the fuck out of anime fandom as a result.

I came back to it lately, but to a much more manageable, less obsessive level. More "normieish" weeb than full blown otaku creep. I also got to learn more about many other parts of japanese culture, and holy crap, equating Japan as a whole with Akiba is just a terrible mistake ! It's like going to Montmartre and thinking the whole of France is like that... Like lol the fuck dude :messenger_grinning_squinting: !

So thank you Davido for showing me the right path !

Not yours, of course.

.....You got this from Era. Didn't you? Were talking about that today.

Anyways i have a friend that's all about Anime and Japan. I'm afraid if he ever moves or visits Japan he's going to get a harsh reality check.

As someone that has been to japan 30-40 times and speaks some and understands the culture.
Be absolutely certain they know and make very racist jokes about your trailer trash friends when they visit.

I am going again as soon as the flights open up since I haven't been to Akihabara in a whole year and the itch for japaneese ps1/2/3 games are getting unbearable.

I go there for 4 days to a week every year, akihabara only, just to do shopping at the retro stores. That suburb is paradise for people like me.
I will bring the boy this time. He wants to start a collection on SuperFamicon games and I know just the place ...
Used to go there once a quarter or more for business. Nowadays I only go for personal reasons to visit Akihabara.

I have a close friend that settled there in a small fishing village in the north. I might visit him.

It seems that you do.

Anime is fine, just like most other media, but it's always that type of anime fan that gets noticed. The forum post "Of course he has an anime avatar" holds so much truth. If you're into anime and your not that guy, then people are not talking about you.

It seems that you do.
I genuinely don't and I'm not a self-loathing otaku. I just happened to notice some people like anything else in life takes things to the next level (videogame nerds, music heads, armature pornstars, etc).

I just think anime can get a pretty bad rep in the West since it's similar to cartoons.

Yes, I agree along with "Videogames are for kids". But anime is not mainstream, popular yes but not mainstream so people will look at it at face value.

Yeah, but theres a difference between an adult who enjoys video games, and an adult who fills their entire living space with gaming memorabilia. Its behavior that indicative of greater character flaws overall.

What's the problem? Sure, he could definitely respect his body a bit more, but that's something a good diet and training can fix fairly easily. He has good taste in Anime. EVA is awesome. Not particularily a fan of the rest of his Anime decoration, but oh well.

He can speak japanese, too, which means he's probably more intelligent than your average (conservative) gaffer.
Go away Davido

I meant to ask this the other day. For those here who can speak Japanese, is his Japanese any good? It seems like he doesn’t understand quite what the other guys are saying to him a lot of the time. I wasn’t sure if that was because his Japanese wasn’t good, he was just letting them walk all over him or both.

"bullies" yup, now we know why you are the way you are. You never got over it. "Bullying" is more often than not societies way of telling someone their behavior is not acceptable (once you have left school). If you are being bullied as an adult, that's a you problem and maybe not defining your personality and building a "Bunker" with "Kids stuff" would solve that.

@obin_gam This goes for you too.

I'm assuming reading comprehension wasnt (isn't) your strong suit

i mean he really didn't strike me as the type who'd retaliate or even acknowledge being clowned, so i doubt it matters
