Yeah, maybe you wouldn't want to make a game about a virus that only infects women; not that it's misogynistic, it's talking about medical conditions strictly based to one gender.
Talking about medical conditions in general and making them a basis for anything is going to stir up some feelings with the creator AND it's audience
It's just an uncomfortable topic; no one wants to bring something like that up in a positive way

There is an intent to art being created by the artist
But there's also the interpretation of art by the audience

If he doesn't want to make sexy women in video games, sure, whatever, do that. Saying he's doing it for political reasons?
This is the type of drama only the entertainment industry can bring; you wouldn't see that shit said from any other big company. Just a stupid business move.

And no, the reason why the idea of a mutant cordyceps only infecting women failed is because how in the world can you biologically explain the mechanisms behind that in a believable manner? There are sex-linked disorders, but those happen from inheritance not from a fungus. It has nothing to do with misogyny.

Yeah, this is what worried me in the lead up to TLOU2. Like I said though, I'm going into this game objectively. My only point of focus will be the story and the characters. If they ring true within the context of the story, I'll be happy. If they stand out from the context, I'll be pissed off. If the context IS SJWing, then I'll be fucking pissed off.

Yet Neil describes the concept of such a disease as tantamount to "hating women" or "believing men are far better than women".

The idea of that Mankind game actually sounds super interesting. Like Y The Last Man, but with zombies.

I have no idea how that would be misogynistic though. If anything it would highlight just how much more valuable women are to the longterm survival of our species compared to men. Plus it would demonstrate the massive importance of the feminine in balancing and temperering the masculine, and demonstrate the absolute worst men would be capable of without women, and with them the hope for a family and future. Frankly that sounds far better and more interesting than The Last of Us.

His free to make what he wants to make but I don't like the idea he tells other developers how they should design their own characters and they wrong simply because he personally not like designs, but unfortunately in current western gaming culture western developers desperately trying too hard to make gaming as "mature" industry and in their eyes having attractive character design considered "immature".

I agree 100% with what you've said here but what Neil is talking about isn't the disease itself but the act of 'choosing' what gender the disease affects. THAT is what he's identifying as misogynistic. He's clearly suffering from male guilt. What bothers me the most is this ideological theorising has been promoted so much by the media that he and others honestly think they have the intellectual high ground, which is why, to your average Joe like you and I, it comes across as arrogance ... largely because it IS. These people are living in an ever smaller echo chamber but rather that look at themselves and ask difficult questions, they look out at the world and believe more and more people are bigoted. That's why Trump is a Nazi, his supporters are white supremacists and anyone who disagrees with a black man, a woman, a homosexual, a transsexual or any number of 'convenient' labels, is also a bigot. The majority represents a needle and it's getting ever closer to their bubble. Soul searching is something these people have forsaken and it's the very thing they need the most.

Largely depends on how many people have been turned off by the leaks. Today, a 90 minute long video of TLOU2 gameplay got leaked and a certain part of it really pissed fans off.

Angry Joe covered the leaks a few days ago and he's no anti-SJW. In fact, he hates anti-SJW's. The majority of comments in his video that covered the leaks praised the leaker for saving them $60.
