whats stopping different households from meeting up NOW? What is stopping kids from playing with each other on the cramped sidewalk? Is the government going door to door to make sure nobody is interacting? Are the police monitoring every sidewalk to make sure kids from different houses aren't playing? Come on, this is crazy. Think this through.

I can speak to my own observations walking around NYC, people are chatting on stoops... and keeping their distance. It's almost like people can be expected to make rational decisions without being forced to separate by order of a tyrant governor-king.

Oh good, let the lunatics run the asylum. That'll help ya.

they already are, they're named Gavin Newsom, Phil Murphy, Andrew Cuomo, Gretchen Whitmer, etc.

They seem to be handling things fairly normally as we are doing in Europe; so taking a more modern approach to handling epidemics. You want to go against that and return to the dark ages with letting american plebs handle it? May as well burn the whole lot then and be done with it!

I've started to see a trend where I live. The more times the NHS workers post up videos from FB/Insta/Tiktok etc of them dancing around and doing things which makes the hospital look like nothing is going on, the more people are breaking guidelines and going out/driving.

That's kinda to keep their sanity; also not all parts of the hospital are being used: routine operations are canceled for the while.

Will Americans buy American after the pandemic?

Rogan and his guest made a huge blunder by not factoring in automation into their discussion. At some point, the majority of manufacturing will be fully automated. Once this happens it will be cheaper to manufacture in the United States than anywhere else on the planet.

"The next Industrial Revolution is upon us, and scientists, entrepreneurs, and policymakers are warning of an imminent paradigm shift in the future of work. In partnership with the Council on Foreign Relations, VICE talks to industry leaders and laborers to learn how radical developments in automation and artificial intelligence are set to change the world of work as we know it." How robots change the world | Oxford Economics

"A report from Oxford Economics estimates that about 8.5% of the global workforce stands to be replaced by robots, with about 14 million manufacturing jobs lost in China alone. The number of robots currently in the global workforce, 2.25 million, has multiplied threefold over the past 20 years, doubling since 2010. According to the report, every third robot is installed in China. The country accounts for about 20% of robots worldwide. Additionally, since 2004 each new robot installed in the manufacturing sector has displaced an average of 1.6 workers.Over the next decade, the U.S. is projected to lose more than 1.5 million jobs to automation. China is slated to lose almost 12.5 million, the European Union will lose nearly 2 million jobs and South Korea will lose almost 800,000. Other countries around the world are expected lose 3 million jobs to robots by 2030." (June 26, 2019)

At the care home where I work they'll be administrating an antibody test for anyone who wants to volunteer. I might do it, but the way my luck's been going lately it will likely be negative.

Here is an update on Quebec's death, with putting the date of deaths and not the reported date. Arruda said each month they will release these revised mortality numbers to give us a clearer picture.

Look at the old age homes, what a disaster.

Exactly.

People see that and will think "**** this, im stuck at home "saving lives" and they're ****ing about when they're supposed to be busy".
I went back to work this week and it's been fucking horrible.
I work at a funeral directory which i'm normally fine with. I treat it like any other places I've worked at accept when i'm at a service (obviously).
The reason I treat it like any other place is to keep my sanity. If I didn't then it would break me. Keep smiling, laughing and cracking jokes. Otherwise it will fucking destroy you.

The way we treat the deceased that are Covid positive is horrible. We don't get to prep them and they don't get viewings with the family if they want them.
Body bag straight in the coffin. They don't even get a proper service for friends and family to say goodbye.

It has at no point run through my mind is to start fucking dancing whilst people film just to cheer myself up.
Have a bit of fucking dignity in your work. Yea I get your stressed. So are the family's who have just lost loved ones. Doubt they will be dancing for a while.

Why not just ask vulnerable people to stay at home, and give them special privilege to go certain places, especially some sporting venues parks that are off limit to everyone else. Ask them to show an ID to a security camera and just let them be. Use nature as an advantage, designate special drivers or allow them drive. Give some small business owners permission to server only those above a certain age group.

Ask the rest of the nation to get as much sunshine as possible without getting burned.
Limit exercise times to 6am-9pm and 4pm-6:30 pm dependant on the season. Two timeframes are important to make sure people don't congregate on the same spot.

There's a massive uk study that's pretty damn comprehensive in who is vulnerable and who is not.

The more studies I read, the more I'm convinced people need to reach 32 ng/ml (Vitamin d) to render the virus mostly ineffective (Mild fever at worst)
All the older studies did not take into account an Pandemic when it recommended 25 which was ok for that time for normal body function, but not enough for this crisis. It's needed to regulate the immune system, the amount of antibodies is dependent on lymphopenia, something we naturally lose around the age of 30. That's why older people are more vulnerable, and if your obese it reduce it's effectivene.

See it as this you need a big enough army to fight the virus (lymphopenia)
You need to regulate that army or else it kills you (Vitamin D)
You need to keep that army fit (All the other important vitamins, they become obese they are less effective.

Like this for example!

I don't see what people are getting so triggered about. A bit of dark humour to get through dark times - likely they were off-shift and just doing something to wind down. Let's not turn into reeeeeeing prudes.

is 32 ng/ml = 10000 units? My doctor gave me a prescription for that once a week.

Do you have a link to the UK study?

It's a disaster at work. When I got in wednesday night through the garage I ended up face to face with 2 men from the morgue (not sure about English term, people retrieving bodies from cold chambers to get them out of the hospital) dressed like people taking radiation levels from chernobyl.

Lots of deaths, we now only take covid cases from old age homes. They're dying like flies and being replaced as it happens.

I don't know if it was incompetence, or was this their plan all along? Let the old people get infected in their old age homes and die off.

Its hard to tell if Legault/Plante/Arruda are that stupid, or that evil.

Thanks bro for working at the hospitals through all this.

The link is in the decription for the study, look for the actual pdf page 16 and page 17 for the graphs. But 'd suggest just watching the Video.

Consider taking 10 micrograms of vitamin D a day to keep your bones and muscles healthy.

This is because you may not be getting enough vitamin D from sunlight if you're indoors most of the day.

There have been some news reports about vitamin D reducing the risk of coronavirus. However, there is no evidence that this is the case.

Do not buy more vitamin D than you need.

If you take that amount for 4 months I think, it would increase your count by 10 ng/ml
Note I always see someone saying take your Vitamin D with Vitamin K

I wouldn't go that far, I just see it as a complete lack of preparedness for such an event. I had some degree of confidence in Legault early on, but that's gone now. He seems to be treading water. I've been avoiding Valeri Plante's briefings because there's only so much time in the day and I like to keep my eye on a variety of issues, but think I'll start paying more attention to her and give Legault a break for a while. There was this bit of news regarding her, too:

Valérie Plante will be representing Montreal on the worldwide scale as she's been named to a global mayors' task force aiming to help cities recover from the COVID-19 crisis.

Montreal's mayor is the only Canadian named to the 11-person squad, which includes the mayors of Hong Kong, Sierra Leone, Lisbon, Seattle, Milan, Melbourne, New Orleans, among others.

The task force is fronted by C40 Cities, a group that focuses on global issues related to climate change.

The Task Force will explore ways for the economic recovery from COVID-19 to get people back to work, while ensuring climate breakdown doesn't become an even bigger crisis for the global economy and the lives and livelihoods of communities worldwide.

"When the time comes to reopen and rebuild, our efforts will define our cities for decades to come –– and as Mayors, it's our responsibility to lay the foundation for the fair society and healthy planet our residents deserve," said C40 Chair and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. "Cities worldwide led the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we will marshal all of our local resources to advance a robust global recovery –– to get people back to work and accelerate action to address the climate crisis."

One of several red flags the response to this crisis has raised that's getting filed to the back of my mind for the time being.

So basically they're holding their cities hostage to get their climate agenda forced on people.

Bolt strategy. Let's see if that works out before they get the noose.

My sense of humor is about as dark as can be. For me, laughing at the darkness/tragedy and absurdity of life makes perfect sense. What's the alternative?

These protests definitely seem to be getting bigger.

There's going to be one in Olympia, WA (state capitol) tomorrow apparently after Inslee just announced he's extending his stay at home order with a very vague and non-committal plan to ease restrictions in steps.

There are lots scheduled for CA tomorrow that are still going on despite Zuckerberg's attempts to suppress and censor the organizing.

THis is going on in Lebanon.

I don't think things are this bad in the US yet so American's can calm down a bit.

but if you keep pushing things this could be the future.

My city has 67 cases out of a population of 50,000 and like 2 deaths. The mayor just issued a proclamation that he is lifting the stay at home order for us. Masks and distancing is still needed, but we have FREEEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which city, btw? Not trying to stalk you or anything.

Even with orders being lifted I still plan to act like nothing has changed. There's still no vaccine and I don't plan to take any unnecessary chances.

People are such spoiled, entitled morons. I think discussions over whether or not the impact on the economy and psychological impact of this, whether it's families losing businesses or jobs and healthcare because of it... that's a legit concern and a legit discussion. Whether or not long-term, that will be more deadly and disastrous than the virus itself. And whether or not businesses and the economy should be opened up more is a legit debate to be had.

But people protesting for the fucking beach? Get over yourselves, you spoiled morons. Find something else to do. Ride a fucking bike. Sit out on your lawn. Go for a walk to get some sun. Beaches are luxury activities, not necessary things. These are the morons who are gonna extend this bullshit by weeks and months. Because they are either too entitled to give up their damn beaches or too political to allow "the libs" to force them to do something they don't wanna do.

And if you wanna protest, do it spread out, not clustered together. It's like these morons are doing it out of spite to own people on the left. You aren't owning anybody but yourselves.

I can't even say Fuck China News anymore :(
these protestors are going to send us into a second wave way faster.

we almost had this shit if protest start trending around the world fuck all of those people seriously

A tyrant governor picking on one city to be vindictive over something that has NOTHING to do with the pandemic will piss people off. Fuck Newsom.

Man, imagine if those people had to deal with a leader who is a real tyrant. Peak exceptionalism on display here.

Newsom is picking on Huntington Beach because he's still mad that they sued him over the sanctuary state declaration. The people who live there know that, and they're pissed.

Update on my parents Covid-19:

They said they still haven't recovered. While the pain isn't as bad as before, they say it still hurts when they cough and it makes them slightly dizzy.

Next Monday, they're apparently going to get retested but the expression on their face tells me the virus isn't gone yet.

Technically, my two week quarantine is also over but I haven't actually received a call on what I'm suppose to do. My workplace was suppose to call me but I haven't actually heard from them since last week.

I wont rush it but tommorow I might ask what they want me to do or if I should wait for them. The worst of my flu symptoms are gone but I'm still in a household where two people have the virus and it looks like it's going to be longer than two weeks before it's gone.

What people need to realize is that hospital medical workers experience people dying almost on a daily basis. To them death is nothing out of the ordinary.
Sure that's all good, but still doesn't mean some people won't find it in bad taste. Imagine just having lost a loved one to Coronavrius, and you get on social media to see that.
People need to realize that too, like come on it's such an obvious social faux pas.

Ok this is what happened, it's not everything but it played a huge role...

There was the fear of saturating the healthcare system when this all started...

Once the patients from the old folks homes were out of danger and stable, they were sent back into their residences.

This is where the shit hit the fans...

Hospitals basicly lighted the residences on fire since they weren't equipped to deal with these patients who still had covid. So pretty much all residences got infested with covid.

Notice how the hospitals saturation is climbing up the last weeks? That's because now we can't send them back home.

There was also patients testing negative and sent back to non covid units, that still had symptoms a few days later and ended up testing positive on their second tests

There was also staff being told to take care of covid patients without wearing any masks...

It's been a whole mess...

Man it's scary to think how way off the worldmeter tally is off by. 3.4 million infections, 240,000 dead. Who knows how many people that had/have the virus in primarily China and how muffed the number of deaths there is. China fudging the numbers big time is speculation, but it's almost impossible to ignore the sudden drop in cases reported daily, and how many deaths have been caused or influenced by Corona. A country with about 1.5 billion people suddenly screeches to a halt with a trickle of new cases here and there. C'mon China. We know there's a lot of dumb people in the world, but even most of them are not buying your number of reported cases and deaths.

Captain Obvious....was here.

Anyone else scared that we'll have second, third, fourth etc waves of COVID-19? That as soon as people start going to work, walking about etc we'll see a rise in confirmed cases and deaths again?
