Bright Memory Infinite – Graphical it looks nice, but it has this strange plastic-y look to it (though that could be due to watching it via YouTube on a 1080p TV). Game play looks interesting with its grapple and parkour mechanics, alongside the use of melee weapons and guns. Will need to see more, but I like what I see so far.
Dirt 5 – I haven't played any other game in this franchise. Looks gorgeous with some unique environments such as icy roads, rain drenched muddy off roads, large cityscapes. Will keep my eye out on it if reviews are good.
Scorn – a title long time in development and one that I haven't heard or seen much from in a while. Inspired by the work of HR Geiger, it looks like it is a very atmospheric and grotesquely beautiful game – but will it be fun to play? This I genuinely can't tell from the trailer or game play that I had seen thus far. Will need to wait for reviews, but since it *is* coming to Game Pass, there is very little that is stopping me from at least trying it out.
Chorvs - Space game play looks beautiful, but my god that character model looks like some low quality shit. Unless community reviews are great, I will more than likely skip this.
Madden 21 – Never cared for sports games so will completely skip this one.
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 - The models look disappointing and its animations are janky – but the environments? They look gorgeous. Let's hope the game is good, but given the agenda driven nature of some of its writers, I am very nervous about this one. I will have to wait for the community's thoughts before I decide if I will pick it up.
Call of the Sea - A bright, colourful, and cartoony aesthetic. The game looks very interesting. Will give it a try when it comes out for Game Pass.
The Ascent - Cyberpunk/futuristic aesthetic. A top down diablo-esque shooter with what seems like a large amount of customization? Co-op seems to be a major focus. Was never a huge fan of these kinds of games so I will skip it.
The Medium – No major game play to be seen, but it does seem like an interesting horror game. The graphics shown off does look interesting with the help of Akira Yamaoka providing the music. Definitely peaked my interest.
Scarlet Nexus - Bandai Namco come out of seemingly nowhere with this gorgeous looking title. Monsters composed of organic and inorganic parts, the ability to use Psychokinesis to attack and defend. The anime art style is dripping in style. Seems like a God Eater-esque adventure? Day one purchase for me. I am a sucker for these kinds of games.
Second Extinction - An alien shooter that seems to be based in an open-esque world. Possibly co-op? Seems heavily based on waves of enemies, primarily dinosaurs. Meh for me. Skipping.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon – Yakuza changes into a turn based rpg and from what has been said about it, the game is bloody brilliant. Excited to get my hands on this game, though I am still not sure if I will buy it on PS5 or Xbox Series X, mostly given that I tend to try and buy the same franchise on a particular system whenever I can (AC for Xbox, Yakuza for Sony, etc). Primarily it comes down to if there is any massive system differences or censorship.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla – After how much I despised Odyssey for its numerous blatant historical inaccuracies to push some asinine view of an idealized version of Greece, its blatant padding, and pushing users to spend money on "time savers", I am going to hold off on really diving into this one until I see reviews. The game looks beautiful, but graphics don't make a game. The game play, world, and story does. So far nothing has shown itself to be better or worse than the last entry.
Overall, glad to finally get some look at the games that are coming out, as that is all that is important to the console. While there is still no word on if these are launch titles, a few weeks/months after launch, or what-have-you - I am now a bit more excited for the next generation. The first year or two of a console are never indicative of the full power of a system, so it should never be expected. Things will improve as developers get used to the tools available.
