I've been pretty sick for a week now, so after calling Toronto Public Health and explaining my symptoms they suggested I should go get tested. It was one of the most painful experiences of my life lol. They had me mean my head back and lift my mask, so I thought they were just going to swab my saliva, but they ended up shoving this thing deep up my nose and it hurt so damn bad that I'm still feeling it. Won't get my results until after about 4 business days, but fingers crossed.

This is one of the lowest days for deaths and cases in a while.
I think things will have a dead cat bounce towards the end of the week but the last 3 days have been a nice decline.
I actually expect a decline in deaths because I think people will stop sending old infected people into old age homes to spread the virus.

My wallet which also contains my phone fell out of my pocket in the grocery store today.
I panicked.
I asked a guy next to me if he could dial my number on his phone so I could locate it. Keep in mind I asked HIM to dial it.
He grinned and shook his head no.
That is barely asking for a favor at all and unless the guy was on a Tracphone (he wasn't) I see no reason to help with something so simple.
Seriously, fuck people right now.
I have no faith in this shitty species anymore. Yes there are some awesome people (a couple here in fact) but overall we are a shit race of beings.

Yep. There are a couple media outlets that reported on it here and there but no one broke lockstep with the narrative. No one started asking if our estimated first cases were accurate.
And now we're "finding out" the estimates weren't accurate. Go figure. There are posts in the early pages of the thread suggesting that the virus could've been spreading around for months already, hence, the virus wasn't as deadly as reported, but that was written off as "conspiracy".
Time makes more converts than reason, I guess. I hope the panicmongers and browbeaters reconsider how this story unfolded so that they're better prepared for the next "wave", to say nothing of other pandemics in our future. We can't react this way to outbreaks in the future. China's negligence was only part of the story. Pushing panic also contributed to the strain on our system.

Population density is a factor clearly, hence New York being so bad, though Wales being a clusterfuck is interesting given its low density. Interestingly (and I admit I had to look this up) the Welsh National Assembly is Labour run (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Assembly_for_Wales) in coalition with a single Lib Dem but can almost certainly count on votes from Plaid Cymru who are a far larger block and are more aligned to Labour in terms of being full-on left wing. Indeed, only 16 out of 60 seats belong to a party on the right. Non-coincidentally, Wales manages its own health service, which is a complete shambles. To give an example, the Royal Gwent in Newport is known for being an MRSA hotspot and is frequently filthy. NHS dentists are impossible to find, while a simple hop over the border to South West England sees vast improvements on both counts. Wales is also hampered by the bureaucracy of the Welsh Language - everything governmental has to be done in English and Welsh, which drives up costs as you'd expect.

I'm sure the experience depends a lot on the person giving the test. The nurse that i had went super slow and deep. She also counted to 10 before taking it out which caused a great deal of burning.
