No, his point was that Jesus, the son of God, who transcended death, who cured the blind, who walked on water, who is believed to be 100% real by Christians, does not exist.
His point was not that Jesus, some nondescript random dude from some random point of history who couldn't possibly have performed any miracles because this is real life, did not exist.
The difference between the two is pretty simple to understand.
But nobody worships or disputes the historical figure. They worship or dispute the son of God. Both got crucified, the one is imaginary. There's an entire mythology separating the two.

Jesus was a philosopher who took the ideas behind Judaism and added his own twist. He got crucified for it. I'm willing to believe those things, just as I'm willing to believe that Mohammed existed and married a 9-year-old, and was likely a warlord of some kind. I think it's not new and scary anymore, and really, people are just tired of this new normal.
There also doesn't seem to be a whole heck of a lot of "new news" to drive posts. It's just regurgitating the same stuff ad nauseam.
Things seem to be trending in the right direction in most of the world, there are still some areas that are on a big upswing, but is more and more looking like they're outbreak is just timed differently than the rest.

There's no real new information coming out at this point - since the IFR (not the CFR) appears to be pretty low for vast majority of the population, it's now just turned into a big government oversight / return to normalcy political shitshow - I'd say primarily fear driven on the "don't fucking leave your home" side of things.

We have a metro area of 4 million facing an extended economic shutdown with up to 50% of shops estimated to be facing closure, yet the press is asking why we aren't extending the shutdown yet again? We hover around single digit deaths when excluding nursing homes.

I do suspect there is some truth to this. If the mass lockdowns can keep up for even just another month or two, there's no way we see a big recovery by October or November. Democrats can keep saying they are the ones who care about people's lives as the reason for why we can't open up anytime soon and why we need more government bailouts. They get to look like the virtuous ones to a whole lot of people and can then position Biden as the right man to fix the economy since he's pulled out us out of a recession before alongside Obama!

Its crazy how varied the police response has been from the lockdowns. Where I live, nobody is pulling people over to verify that they are "essential" workers, I've been going out for motorcycle rides every weekend and passed tons of cops with no issues, parks are closed but people are just parking outside of the park and walking into them and no cops are harassing anybody.

Well, in the England at least, from Wednesday we can go out as often as we like & do whatever activity we like, the police can’t do jack shit about it.
They can go back to not investigating crimes and ignoring our calls.
Police forces around the UK have done irreparable damage to their image in the way they have handled themselves during the past weeks, jumped up hitlers have revelled in their new “powers” the population will remember their actions.
What little respect they had left before this is gone.

Some states have classified "leisure driving" as an outdoor activity. Aside from California creating an explicit list of what is allowed, I don't think any state has declaratively stated "only <x,y,z> are considered outdoor activities", so it's open to interpretation.
We've been exploring rural Texas every weekend, no problems at all.
