when Ryse came out I believe it ran at 720p on Xbox One so yeah...alot of its beauty was masked behind shitty resolution. Play it on PC, the facial animations and details in this game still blow áway almost every recent game that got released. Well, its from Crytek so
It was 900p actually, and considering games like Diablo 3 and Destiny were 900p before MS allowed ressources to be given back to games by disabling Kinect, I do feel like it could probably have hit 1080p just like those games did, but since it was a launch game it was never patched later on to take advantage of this.

I honestly would be shocked if the event will be viewed as a positive on here. But pleasantly surprised of course. MS just has a bad track record and even Sony and Nintendo usually blow these events.

I don't know what it is, gamers just seem impossible to please. All that MS needs to do to have a positive show is have a good slate of games. That's it. That's all they've ever needed and that's all any of these companies truly need. Switch is cleaning up because it has software people want. Sony understands making truly great games as well. That's why I don't think the possibility of MS buying WB games is exciting at all. Gaming doesn't have to be zero sum, and that's a completely zero sum move that doesn't add anything to the gaming pantheon. Microsoft should be laser focused on creative new properties with great new updates to existing ones. That's it IMO. That's how they will have a good show.

And it doesn't matter if people want to nitpick or bitch and moan. If you're happy with what they showed, then it was a positive event for you. There will always, always, be people unhappy.

Expectations for conference:
- Halo infinite (launch title)
- Fable reveal and gameplay (launch title)
- hellblade gameplay
- 2 other AAA games announced
- four hundred ninety nine dolla

Bonus:
Day 1 adopters get free game bundle

A man can dream.

Its all about Halo.
Been so, so long since the last entry. So many recent E3s being disappointed of no Halo showing or the past 2 years of tiny teasers. Im ready.

Im hoping for some genuine surprises too. Pretty excited.

Ryse was 900p.

Halo Infinite
Fable Reboot
Perfect Dark Reboot
Forza
Hellblade II

And more surprises.

I can't say I'm that interested in most of those but, yeah, if they show all of them they'll have delivered for sure.

I'm excited for the show mainly because I really want to see extended next gen gameplay. We still didn't really get much of that from the PS5 event. About the only worthwhile footage was the Ratchet stuff, and they never released high quality video of that.

I'd say Hellblade 2 (we need to see gameplay 1st though), Ratchet and Clank, Kena, Returnal all look next generation to name a few

Actually most of the stuff shown at the PS5 event looked next gen, it's just so much of it was quick cuts and/or cartoony aesthetic that it's a bit had to appreciate straight away.

Even something like Destruction Allstars - it's running in native 4K and actually has really high fidelity. It's nobody's idea of a 'Killzone Shadowfall' moment, but it's still leaps and bounds ahead of anything on current gen.

That's true. I'm looking forward to so many of those games too

4k video:

Sorry, not trying to put Sony stuff in the Xbox thread, was just pointing that out to Hunnybun here.

I meant the gameplay footage they showed after the trailer.

I know the trailer has gameplay footage, but it's all quick cuts, like 10 seconds at a time. Hard to really get a sense of the fidelity without constantly pausing the video.

Not really excited about: Halo, Forza, Gears, if only I would like to see the graphics, what I am really looking forward is The Medium for the OST alone, if the game delivers i will be surprised, hope they have good actors for a horror game, shitty acting could ruin it. Also i am intrigued about Hellblade 2, i really hope they improve the gameplay because it was lackluster in HB1 and the enemies are more interesting, because the combat was dull. I liked everything else.
Scorn looked good, but after watching the gameplay videos it looks average.
Since Rare is not even a shadow of what they used to be, I do not know what to expect from Everwild, the art looks beautiful. It's a mixture of Disney's Bambi and Zelda Wind Waker.
I really want to be surprised by new stuff, not old boring master chief game.

Nothing to show in June and now it feels like they're waiting as long as they possibly can now, ffs MS just blow the load and get it over with.

This is the time of year everyone... I hope Xbox Game Studios finally brings out all the exclusive AAA games I want. For as long as I can remember, I've always had high expectations for every presentation they had but always end up being somewhat disappointed. At the very least, I'm expecting quality game play for Halo Infinite and the next Fable. Keeping out Gears and Forza for this iteration is fine.

If they can also announce old IP such as Perfect Dark, or any OG Xbox game, then I'm pre-ordering this console for day one.

Always saw the box as a 3rd party machine really.

I would be surprised if it hasn't been updated visually since that alpha. But even that looks good to me. Love alien horror.
Well it was a game that was PC only, with no console version. It was designed for high end PC's. Luckily XSX is as good as a high end PC so it will probably look even better than this vid which i believe was running on a 1080ti.

For me they need to show more than just halo, Gears, and forza. Another thing we must remember is most of the games shown will possibly be able on the xbox one.

They did say no exclusives for the first two years. I'm looking forward to seeing what they have

That's beside the point . The earlier showing was for indies .
we are clear for next gen stuff .

looking forward to HB2, Forza,Halo, Pd and WB games.

You have too much patience. He's just baiting. Report and move on. The less of these guys in the thread the better.

I think I'm curious about The Initiative's game the most. They have a lot of big names working there but the studio is only like 30-40 people last time we heard

I wonder how big the studio will get

Edit: The Initiative's game won't be there lol

I think Playground Games will show their versatility with Fable and show why they are one of the best Xbox studios

Microsoft needs to knock this out the park.

But HALO INFINITE needs to be incredible not just for Xbox but for all of gaming! 343i is probably feeling a lot of pressure at the moment but they really, and i mean really need to get this win.

There are a lot of games I'm excited about and I want to play, BUT HALO is the most important, FAILURE TO ME IS NOT AN OPTION!

So I'm interested to hear people's thoughts on what Halo Infinite needs to do/be to make it a smash hit?
