Edge has a thing with PS exclusives. They mostly give them low scores even when most outlets give 'em 10s and 9's.

Yup, I've been looking through their review history... it's a disaster. Why is this magazine still around? Detroit Become Human - 50% , Days Gone - 50%, Gears 5 - 60%Can't be real... I've never given a shit about them that's why I probably haven't noticed but that pattern.... oof. Not even Polygon.

What got me was the variety of genre's that make it statistically almost impossible for the scores to line up like that. There is only one common denominator.

Just played 3 hours of the game.
Graphically amazing, but I can't help but feel like this game shouldn't have came out after TLOU 2.
There's just some jank in the mechanics at the upstart of learning the game, and the animations can be a little janky as well.
But I've only scratched the surface, but I'm at lukewarm state of mind to the game as is right now.
Will update as I progress.

5 hours in.
-Story hooked me from the get go.
-Looks and sounds amazing
-Very satisfying exploration. Random npcs give location hints for quests, minimal map markers etc.
-Combat is way better than I expected. Tons of skills to unlock.
-You will get a taste of the instant fast travel on PS5. On my launch ps4 it is 1-4 seconds a few times I tried. Magic!
Only thing I don't care is the loot/upgrade stuff. Just get rid of those please.

I've gotten beat down pretty good in a few encounters on hard early on. Jin and juice is kinda made of paper. I'll persist though and hope I git gud.
Thank god the companion AI is actually pretty good when you have someone helping in some missions. They've saved my ass a few times now and have generally been pretty helpful

Anyone playing tested the difference between hard and normal? Was on the fence initially because it looked a bit easy with the insta-kills, but it sounds like there's more to it. Preloading my copy for tomorrow morning, can't wait!

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
This was what Digital Foundry said as well - a lot of the animations are stiff and there is a lot of environment clipping. They mentioned though that most of these problems aren't present in combat, hoping they're right about that.

You're comparing apples and oranges, this is more like Assassin's Creed Origins/Odyssey and HZD an open world action adventure without a focus on one aspect like say DMC5/Nioh2 (combat system) or Uncharted/TLOU (story and TPS).
I love AC/HZD so this is right up my alley.

I just took a look on their page on metacritic and found that they gave god of war II, mass effect, killzone 2, fallout 3, new super mario wii, donkey kong country returns and final fantasy tactics advance a 7!!

I don't read them anymore, but over the years, Edge have given lower scores to loads of games that I've ended up loving (Hellblade, for example). Hopefully this is the case with Ghost.
There's no sense in banging on about it. You should probably just forget it & enjoy the game.

I'm really happy with the scores. My prediction was 81!
Very hyped to play. Won't be long till Edge is gone anyway.

Meh, normal enough for this generation...same stuff in Sekiro. CPU has held this gen back a lot.... even though TLOU2 has some better AI.

yeah but this is really barebones, both for the enemies incredibly limited sight\hearing and general awareness, the guy kill the mongol through that paper door and the other enemy is right there doing nothing, it was hilarious to see.
i played a LOT of stealth and open world games during this gen, and that is pretty bad.
