I like Drive to survive, but I do not really watch the race season when it is going on. I think Norris winning the drivers this year would be cool.

Redbull's second seat. What a disaster.

Dutch paper de Limburger is now reporting that Yuki Tsunoda will replace Liam Lawson for the Japanese GP.

I am three thumbs up for Tsunoda but RB are brutal lol and I dont even like Lawson.

Yep, read the news just now. Weird to remove Lawson so quickly. That car is fucked no matter who you put in there. All F1 drivers are exceptional at what they do, but you need to be even better to control that car.
Only a very few seem to be able to get the most out of it, with one of them being Max.

Don't think it's a good start in RB knowing you get kicked out after very few races already, rofl. Maybe Yuki can manage, but I doubt it. Not that I think Yuki is a bad driver, but I do think that car is just not very controllable. They should focus on that, instead of kicking their drivers out.

The mistake was putting Liam in RBR for this season. He only just started racing in F1 and the car seems very difficult to find that window to work with and extract pace. The team needed a more experienced candidate after a tough 2024 season and I'll keep saying they should've given Carlos a chance (regardless of Max liking this choice or not).

Who knows, maybe Yuki will suck in RBR as well, but he definitely should have been their first pick from VCARB. He was next in line with most experience after Red Bull parted ways with Checo and Danny Ric.

People confuse RB driver pickup strategy but I think they have been pretty clear about it. Young, fast and dumb is what they want, especially when they know they got a bad car tuned to a specific way and they choose to rely on Young drivers whose driving instincts (atleast in F1 cars) are still developing hoping they would develop around this tuned car, rather than hiring someone like Alonso, Sainz or Bottas who are settled in their own ways (not to mention bad PR if they badmouth the car).

It's a stupid strategy but if it had worked with Liam they would be treated as geniuses. Seeing the record, Yuki is going to have a terrible time with this car also.
All Yuki have to do is atleast show some progress, Liam has put the bar at almost dead last.

I think it's absolutely insane Redbull let Sainz go to Williams. Any team would be lucky to have him. He would have been a 1,000x better pick than Lawson.

In any case, I'm excited to see Yuki finally get his chance in a top car.

I dont think they let him go, they just dont offer long-term contracts and Sainz wanted a seat where he knew he was there for the long haul. RB gives 1 year contracts and even with that, as we saw with Perez, they can cancel your contract even with all the PR and media saying you are hired for the next year lol. Im glad he didnt go to RB, because if he had same results as he did with Williams, he would of been on the chopping block and next thing you know, he would be kicked out of F1.

That temporary livery Red Bull will use this weekend should've been the standard for the entire season.

Wished Yuki had done better. He should atleast go for the P10.
What an insane drive by Max, this was a drivers win than the car.

Even with this Red Bull, Max can give McLaren a run for their money. Perez, Lawson, Tsunoda... all mid table in the same car. Who else could out drive a car? I can think of Senna, and now Max.

18 to 1 odds on pole bro, always bet on Max.

A rough weekend for Red Bull. Poor pace of the car leading to disappointing qualifying for Max, costly mistakes during the pits and fighting the Alpine instead of chasing the leaders.

At least they got 2 drivers in points again, that's a small positive.
