Gabe Newell prefers Xbox Series X to PS5

I don't know if anyone would accuse him of that. just would have wondered what the reasoning is. yeah that was not a good look for epic after denying it was related to the investment from sony. Even still it was just a bad look even if unrelated
 
Hmm I cant imagine he said this based on any experience with the hardware. So I would assume he is talking about the infrastructure side. Which makes sense seeing how Valve is more in the gaming infrastructure business these days. I dont play online with my PS4 and rarely use the store for anything, but I is it still true that MS has superior online infrastructure compared to Sony?
If true that statement would make sense for everyone who primarily plays 3rd party games online. Which is a lot of people.

If gabe had a dev kit or XSX dev kit it would be relevant. He does not have a ps5 dev kit.

Anyways I guess since Xbox has bigger APU he likes it more and also the fact that it look like a PC. Xbox is a look alike of Corsair one
 
Gabe runs a platform. Xbox runs a platform. Sony is stuck in the past when it's comes to the whole generations thing. From his perspective it makes sense. It reflects his own career.

LMAO, you just have to justify the reason, couldn't just be because Xbox Series X is simply more capable machine overall... nah, that couldn't be it, let's go with bias!

But when Tim Sweeney sides with Sony and shows off the Unreal Tournament demo at E3 where he tried to sell the PS3 as being easy to develop for and historically has sided with Sony, his comments are completely objective... amirite?

Tim Sweeney has always favored Sony, but has never flat out said that Sony's console is simply "better". If we're just talking about which platform would you rather work for, without counting exclusives, Xbox Series X wins by a landslide, there's no question. If one company went away and all game companies were to develop for just one console, XSX is simply more capable and still has the benefits of the incredible boost of IOPS of an SSD.

We were all pretty convinced that Xbox Series X had the clear power advantage, but.... developers start weighing in and point out how the PS5's SSD could give it advantages in certain areas. We listened to those devs, but now it seems like the hardcore fans want to ignore any dev that speaks against their favorite console... so pathetic.

So instead we have Sony fans accusing him of shilling for Xbox. On the positive side unlike the deal between Sony & Epic, it didn't cost MS $250,0,000 for Gabe's opinion.
 
This happened with the 360 versus PS3. After calling the PS3 garbage to Kaz's face, Big daddy Gabe later got that sweet Sony paycheck for a Portal 2 port and soundbites that PS3 is the superior platform after all.

Now, Gabe is in need of more money. The cycle begins anew.

Had a lot less to do with the IBM Manhattan project that was the Cell processor being difficult to comprehend, and a lot more to do with the Ram bottleneck. The one advantage the 360 had was the unified RAM pool

yea idk about all that, nothing series x has shown up until this point has backed up any pr claims. And history shows you need a balanced console to be most successful in the eyes of most fans. Sony has been check marking those boxes. Of course everything is subject to opinion, it just so happens more agree with me 🤣

People saying he's an ex MS employee... wasn't he very critical of MS and Windows recently? To the point of releasing those shitty Linux gaming boxes out of spite?

A more powerful PC will be a more powerful PC whether or not it has shown a demo of UE5 🤷‍♂️ Ryse Son of Rome looked more impressive than Killzone Shadowfall, yet we all knew the PS4 was more powerful and it was a matter of time when games showed it, even in the form of multiplatform games performing better or having higher res. We'll come back here when the head-to-heads begin, deal?

Was this NOT expected? Besides PC, Xbox is more likely to have 60FPS modes or higher quality/resolution, over the ps5 (on games that might have differences between the two platforms)
