Don't just go by numbers on a sheet.
Maybe there will be one game in ten with a tiny resolution difference but I don't see this being anything significant.
Like wasn't AC Valhalla at 60fps being hyped on XSX and people were saying PS5 couldn't do it.... guess what!

I'm not, I'm saying you're making assumptions even though we have seen nothing but an indie running on XSX. We have seen plenty running on PS5.

You're not the only one. I have gone from NES/SNES to PS/PS2 to Xbox 360 to PS4 and next will be going to Xbox Series X as my primary gaming console. I will still buy and own a PS5 but it will be for the 10-15 exclusives that I end up playing on it for the generation and well, that's it.
Everything Microsoft is doing with Xbox Series X from console itself to the controller to Game Pass to their first parties to their very consumer friendly moves is speaking to me like Sony was in 2013. All of those reasons combined is why Xbox Series X will be my primary gaming console for the upcoming generation.
Overall, im super hyped, can't wait and wish it was November 10th already!!!

This gen hasn’t even started yet and no ones been blown away yet from anything shown. In about 2 years we’ll be seeing the better next gen stuff. There’s no reason why all third parties should not look better on by the XSX though. So if you’re someone who mostly plays third party games. XSX is an easy choice IMO. I’m getting both. Ps5 is an exclusive machine for me.

For starters: Halo, & Gears for great shooters with excellent gameplay and competitive multiplayer, Forza MS and Horizon for driving games, Ori & Cuphead for super high quality 2d platformers, The Medium and Scorn for horror and a bunch of others as opposed to PS5 a bunch of cartoony kids games or cinematic walking sims with pretty graphics and little gameplay that are all style and no substance

And "cinematic," i.e., they have a story and cutscenes. Apparently that's a "formula" now.
p.s. Although I just tried to play Death Stranding, so I have to say, that one is definitely way too "cinematic" for my taste. It has over 11 hours of movie in it. Too much. I think you should use cutscenes to flesh out the story and characters, and to set up the plot, or perhaps to show cool moves you couldn't pull off with a controller, like in Spider-Man. But don't make cutscenes the centerpiece of the game. If you want to be a movie director, go be a movie director.

You are not the only one but I strongly doubt you are the majority. In Ireland not one person has mentioned Xbox to me, I doubt they even know what's it's called, but in work today everyone was saying they couldn't get to pre-order a PS5, I haven't heard one of them talk about being into video games before today!

I don't have any loyalty to corporations or brands. I just go where the gaming experiences are that I like. For the first 10 years of my gaming career, that was Xbox. Since about 2012, it's been Playstation. Three or four years from now, when Microsoft studios start delivering, I may switch back to Xbox again -- who knows. It depends on where the gaming experiences are that I enjoy.
I don't need to bag on the things other people enjoy. I think that's lame. You like competitive multiplayer games? Cool, enjoy them. You like story-driven action-adventure games and RPGs? Cool, enjoy them. You like to play puzzle games? Fine. Racing games? Neat. JRPGs? Great.
Why get defensive about what other people like? It doesn't change what I like. Putting other people down for their preferences just makes you look small.

Sony has done just about everything they could to make me buy a Series X instead of a PS5 next gen. Their single player focus and cross platform stance offends me...
But MS has been so utterly incompetent that I just can't get myself to do it. Honestly, a Halo Infinite multiplayer sneak peak would go a long way right now but they can't even do that. Microsoft feels utterly incompetent to me right now.

AAA third person story driven. TBH I’m slightly sick of most of them myself besides those two. GOW was amazing and can’t wait for ragnarok. Spider-Man was good but I wouldn’t say amazing. Rachet and clank was great. Besides those three I didn’t care for the rest of Sony’s first party this gen. I want more gamey games. Some more old school ps1-ps2 gen. My growing love for smaller games fits perfect with gamepass on top of the fact it will have the superior versions of all third parties.

I don't think this is that crazy of a premise. The homogeny of Sony games is exaggerated for sure, but it's disingenuous to act like their isn't a through-line. They seem to be all about the idea of blockbuster cinematic experience that emphasize story and graphics over everything else. That's all well and good, and obviously for the vast majority of people this delivers what they want out of Sony first party and isn't a problem.
For a portion of people though, these games just don't appeal. Other than Death Stranding I've been relatively unimpressed with Sony's first party in the second half of the PS4's life. It'll be blasphemy to many people here, but if I have to choose between Ghost of Tsushima and Crackdown, I'll pick Crackdown every time. I do not find the Naughty Dog model that most of their studios seem to be inching towards very fun. The emphasis on setpiece moments over engaging gameplay keeps me from finishing some of their higher profile games, whereas games like Battletoads and Gears Tactics do a much better job at keeping fun gameplay the core of the experience to me.
It's different strokes for different folks, that simple. I have a One and PS4, I'll be getting an Xbox Series X. But if Sony puts out a new PaRappa or InFamous game I might get a PS5 too. Right now though, they haven't shown anything truly exclusive that appeals to me.
