didn't they mention in an investor/financial report call thingie that they are looking at acquiring a few more studios.
 
If they cared about their future....

They would seriously want to consider Capcom, Square AND Kadokawa.

They can buy all 3 for the same money as TakeTwo. They will only go up in price from now. I they don't do it, they risk their position as number 1 in the industry.

They won't do anything though. They are too stupid, too arrogant and have disappointed me too much.
 
I feel like this is MS's response to Sony running to every studio trying to buy exclusives.


Sony responding to this would be like when your brother shoves you, so you shove him back, and then he hits you because you shoved him.

They have 30 billion sitting around they can spend on anything if it makes sense. And as i told you, this kind of purchase is not a cash only purchase. You buying a Ferrari might not make sense. You don't stand a chance of making billions in revenue each year from your purchase of a Ferrari. Spending money on Bethesda brings in money each year. Your Ferrari does not.

Can they afford it? Yes they can. Will they is another question entirely.

I'm only talking about my personal taste but Doom and TEW are the only games I'm bothered about.
The rest? Xbox can keep them, in fact I think this was a good purchase for MS as I associate most those IP's with Xbox anyway .

Sorry, now for real.

This is not how companies work. Sony's roadmap for acquisition allocations + what games would be coming out when has been decided for years. This is nothing new. And of course they care about their business and future, they are a company.

yes, and microsoft just confirmed it. they will only honor death loop and ghost wire tokyo. the rest are all xbox and pc.

Maybe rethink their launches on PC.
Focus on exclusives (1st and/or 3rd party).
Expand PlayStation Studios (by hiring more talent on already incorporated developers).
More "PS Advantages".

I still believe Sony has the upper hand, specially since the PS5 is reportedly easier to code for. This could mean higher quality Indies/AA's, and fast tracking the development of AAA's.
And remember, game studios are only as good as the talent of the devs.
Sony doesn't need to outright acquire these Billion dollar companies, when they can hire 100 of their best employees (yes, I know, contracts and etc).

Microsoft somehow managed to get outsold by Sony last gen even though PS3 launched a year late, cost twice as much as the cheapest 360 model, ran almost all multiplatform titles significantly worse and barely had any games for the first 3 years. They will manage.
 
Fire consultant Mark Cerny and make Hideo Kojima the new Sony CEO. Or maybe hire Trevor Milton since I heard he is available as of from today?

How does this disprove what I said?

Studios come and go based on their return on profit, etc. A studio could be the best in the world, if it's not profitable, it will be closed.

Plus, we don't know the level of autonomy some of these studios have / had. They may have been PS Studios with a higher degree of autonomy.

Making GTA6 exclusive.
It might be just one game vs an entire publisher, but it would be a giant bombshell for the casual market (aka the biggest market).

Anti-trust are more likely to stop MS now and Japan is more difficult for outside companies to come in and acquire a company.

Just get it done and signed before MS can respond.

dude, microsoft was new to the game and was not that established at this point. they sold evenly because of what you said, sony screwed up. still fucking impressive for the 360.
but people are acting like this gens 2:1 ratio is a 20:1 ratio. with xbox screwing up only resulted in a 2:1 ratio, it will not be like this this time.
xbox with having these games now, having gamepass, having a cheaper console, having a fuckin powerful console. not gonna happen
 
I don't think sony really needs to react but for sure this really turned the tides into ms favor. Last gen was pretty much all sony but this gen is going to be really interesting to see.

Sony can't reply at that scale. They woudn't need to really as they still have it all to win, but they are starting to shoot themselves in the foot lately.

In a world where Sony "needed" to respond, this would at least be the most entertaining, since it's an almost perfect mirror to the Bethesda buy (both RPG giants, most people associate their games with the acquiring studio anyway).

It's all on paper though. In reality PS4 sales are 2.5x XBox in this generation with multiple megaton franchises. XBox has to prove they can do the same.

Yeah, you just wait and see, lol. Given that MS has spent the past few years stating that hardware sales numbers totally don't matter, it's pretty clear that not even they themselves believe they'll outsell Sony next gen.

did i say they will destroy sony? the guy was saying sony will wipe the floor with them. i said if wiping the floor with them is a 2:1 ratio in the best case, then that isnt going to happen this time. xbox is in a much better situation in all areas, that a 2:1 ratio will not happen. it will be much more competitive.
 
They can't and probably won't. I'll admit this is a big get for Microsoft and Sony is wasting their cash on timed exclusives. when really they should be going out of their way to acquire studios. idk sony just hasn't been on the same page as Microsoft so I'll guess we'll see.

Stop they will not lose there position worldwide North America and Europe possibly.
 
Sony elevates game studios.

Microsoft turns them into gamepass filler content creators.

Thats the reality. If you turn halo into a mobil looking game with 500mill budget what will you achive with several titles fallout elder scrolls etc with a 7.5bill budget.


Just ask yourself based on history what sony would do with these studios if they would have the chance.
