I blame the Internet jading me and my age. I miss the good old /sSarcasm?
How?
Let's set up a scenario. Sony allows the DS4 to work for all games, since they enable games to fall-back to legacy rumble if DualSense isn't detected, while presenting a warning to the player "Warning: Legacy controller discovered. Some features may be disabled or downgraded."
It doesn't hurt the games, since they play as-is for those with the next-gen controllers.
It doesn't hurt the devs, since there's no extra work for them.
It doesn't hurt the players, since they can still play their games without shelling out $70 for additional controllers for their buddies.
how so? they still have to program for rumble and also for haptic feedback. It doesn't hurt the devs, since there's no extra work for them.
The moment you make a feature optional you condemn it to an existence as an underused gimmick. How?

The fact that Sony gamers always say "you do understand a controller comes with the system" shows you that they really are a single player gaming household. They are only thinking about themselves and not their friends or siblings etc. I probably have 10-15 controllers in my house amongst different systems so yeah I get wanting to bring controllers forward.
how does someone graduate college when they're stil in high school?I think your view of Spiden-man super hero is a bit confusing because the face he has in the first game never looked like him.
Peter Parker story start at 15 years old, graduate college at 17-18, when his girlfriend dies he has 19-20, when the clone saga ends he has 22.
The game events happens when he is 23 years old.

Abandoning the old stuff is the only way to ensure that the new stuff is actually used.
But where is the limit?
New controller every gen?
Every second gen?
Every third gen?
SOCOM? Some Stadia exclusive? New multiplat IP?

Supermassive Games Staffing Up For New Project, Mentions Experience In 'Compelling Real-Time Combat' - PlayStation Universe
The Dark Pictures developer Supermassive Games is staffing up for a new project, and mentions experience in 'compelling real-time combat.'www.psu.com
that's not how it works. In this scenario, they'd only need to program for haptic feedback, which some/most would do anyways. Sony would then handle the 'downgrade' to regular rumble automatically, if the game registrered a legacy controller.
I tell what would happen in my house:The fact that Sony gamers always say "you do understand a controller comes with the system" shows you that they really are a single player gaming household. In the US you don't need to complete High School to go to college.how does someone graduate college when they're stil in high school?
You do know there are two "clone sagas", right? There's the one from the 70s and the one from the 90s.
I tell what would happen in my house:
Game A: it uses haptic and feedback. Kid A has the new controller at hand. Kid C has an old PS4 controller. A bloodbath is assured and I, as a parent, would have to take away gaming rights to everyone for a couple of days. Everyone cries and shout.
Please no: same controllers!
that's not how it works.
to my knowledge most devs have team of 1-3 programmers for rumble/haptics, don't know really what sony has to do with helping them? and why they should do it in the first place if they want it to support haptics for PS5?
Did you have a 360? If so, how many controllers did you have for it? They don't work on Xbox One.Absolutely. I'd be sad if I had to repurchase 3 new controllers every gen.

I wasn't sad my PS3 controllers didn't work on my PS4. They were shit controllers. I don't care that PS4 controllers won't work for PS5 games.
It's great that Series X controller is pretty much just a Xbox One controller with a share button, I guess.
Have this already been talked about here? Can't find the original poster.

Area51 Alien techPS5 is so secret that needs to be a certain distance from Sony HQ otherwise it explodes.
Disagree. Local coop which is what I assume you mean by couch gaming is personally a big missing feature. And I hear the same among friends and family. No one wants to carry a system over to someone else's place for a 4 hour gaming session and a beer.Couch gaming is a novelty now. It's hardly used anymore and don't pretend otherwise
That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.Have this already been talked about here? Can't find the original poster.

Also the black has to be bigger. It can't be same size as the white oneThat's box racism right there.

Do you think support for haptic feedback is a requirement in every single game released for the PS5?
