Do Americans really put peanut butter on celery?

Americans are used to eating sweet food and unaccustomed to eating vegetables. Peanut butter on celery is pretty tasty, though!

Peanut Butter in celery is OK. Add a row of raisins and you have "ants-on-a-log."

I prefer to dip celery and carrots in ranch, tho.

Celery, one of the vegetables of the gods. Celery + PB, Celery w/ Hummus, Celery juice

Very healthy choice, anabolic choice too. Makes me feel like I can fuck up a pack of three-week starved wolves some days when I eat it:

According to various studies, among natural compounds, celery (Apium graveolens) is one of the most important sources of phytochemicals such as phenolic acids, flavones, flavonols, and antioxidants such as vitamin C, beta-carotene (Provitamin A), and manganese. These antioxidants have a role in decreasing the oxidative damage. The phytochemicals in celery decrease the activity of proinflammatory cytokines and prevent inflammation. Also, flavonoids in celery suppress cardiovascular inflammation. Oxidative stress and inflammation in the blood stream are the main risk factors in increasing cardiovascular disease, especially atherosclerosis. Celery phthalides leads to expanding of smooth muscle in the blood vessels and lower blood pressure. As a result, the most active ingredients in celery (A. graveolens (have shown hypolipidemic, antidiabetic, and hypotensive properties.

As a kid it would be celery with peanut butter and raisins. My folks wo wild call it ants on a log.

Are carrots and hummus an American thing? I figured everyone did it.

Had it as a kid all the time, tasted great. It's a healthy snack too, as long as you aren't loading it up with garbo peanut butter loaded with icing sugar, like Kraft or Skippy.

Perfect for small kids. A snack bristling with pointy wooden cocktail sticks! Yaaay!

If your kid can't handle a toothpick they might have bigger problems. I mean, in elementary school back then we were building shit out of toothpicks and marshmallows and nobody choked to death or poked any eyes out.

Lol I meant dipping carrots in hummus. I didn't realize peanut butter and celery was such an American thing.
Think of all the thousands of years of Superbowl commercials we have (discarding the rest) and all the "must have" snack combos for game night. They'll market anything to our hungry mouths and tell us it's an "American tradition" or a "Game Day tradition" or whatever.

I'm sure your kids are super mature genius miracle children, but anyonenelse would agree that hiding toothpicks in fun-looking food is just asking for trouble. Kids are always looking for fresh new ways to hurt themselves.

Like I said, we all survived toothpicks.

Remember Cunth Cunth in Europe you guys have REAL peanut butter, the shit we have here in Canada and likely the states is basically peanut icing.. Not peanut butter

+1 for celery being nasty either way

Did this in kindergarten.
On the menu at snack time.
You throw some raisins on there, 'ants on a log' we called it.

In my adult years I still bust out the c & p (no raisins/natty peanut buttuh)
Its a healthy snack. Protein and celery is just a vessel full of water.

Carrots I just eat straight up. Unless with wings, then some blue cheese or ranch.

Yeah man kids eat the shit out of it and adults eat the shit out of it you should borrow that one for the land down undah spread the word to your people tell them I gave permission

'It never happened to me, so it'll never happen to anyone else'

bro did a toothpick steal your girl
