Hard to Kill
None of us understand what we are seeing but we're speculating based on our bias would be a quick way to explain. Can someone please explain to me what is going on, by using worlds like when talking to a preschooler?

This. RDNA 2 cu's should be legit unless Cerny told a massive lie. He was specific about this.
The tweet is intriguing tho.
What's FPU?
Some one posted a picture of PS5's SOC and a lot of people who think they are engineers are discussing that picture. Xbox fanboys are hoping it proves xboxs superiority, ps5 fanboys are hoping for secret Cerny sauce. Can someone please explain to me what is going on, by using worlds like when talking to a preschooler?
My interpretation of the floor plan PS5 floor plan:
1. Bomba surprise that Sony likely cut down the 256-Bit FP pipes to just 128-Bit.
2. No Infinity Cache/L3$, also not on the Xbox Series.
3. Might have the old Render Backend design, need higher res to say for sure.
4. The WGPs are arranged as on RDNA1 GPUs with two sub-arrays.
Same goes for the Xbox Series.
Navi21/22/23, Van Gogh and Rembrandt only have one sub-array for all WGPs.
5. Higher res needed for a closer FPU look, GPU frontend analysis and details like the Tempest Audio engine.
the nonsense come from those RDG fanboys. go ask themBTW where is coming that nonsense of Infinte Cache? It was a no go since we saw the size of the die... there is no way to have Infinite Cache.
Infinite Cache is a big part of Navi21 silicon.
You didn't tell people anything beside clicking on the triggered emoji like a little kid.Told people last year to hold on with all the infinity/shared cache stuff until it was confirmed, but people love that secret sauce taste.
Sure , that’s true . But wouldn’t it be great if it was forward looking ? And supporting engine designs of the future? Or is it better that the market leader can dictate the market and how engines are build and designed ?
Who is RDG?the nonsense come from those RDG fanboys. go ask them
When did I mention Cerny? You made that up.
I'm talking about the people here and on Twitter who were saying this unified L3 cache was "basically confirmed" and running with it as fact.
What's FPU?
Also people forget they went with liquid metal so they didn't have to use more expensive heatsink.
I think we can all write off PS5 overheating issues.
No, cause we don't want to pay 800 bucks for a console.Sure , that’s true . But wouldn’t it be great if it was forward looking ? And supporting engine designs of the future? Or is it better that the market leader can dictate the market and how engines are build and designed ?
He never confirmed it had Infinity Cache. He even stated it was pure speculation and to take it with some salt. And it's RTGthe nonsense come from those RDG fanboys. go ask them
Red Gamign Tech...some fanboy who here on the forum until a few days ago had to be taken into consideration more than Digital FoundryWho is RDG?
you dont know (R)ed (D)ead (G)aming?Who is RDG?
lol )) I would sub for sure !you dont know (R)ed (D)ead (G)aming?
to be honest that sounds like a nice Youtube channel name
not gonna say i was surprised that was BSSo infinite cache was a lie huh! RedGamingTech and Mlid kept feeding us lies all this time just for views

Link this tweet too:
No, people were speculating about a different cache arrangement for the CPU cores. Infinity Cache was ruled out a long time ago, since the chip was not large enough for that.So people speculated, some said the IO and efficiency were better and made the difference and others guessed maybe the PS5 had Infinity Cache.
He never said PS5 has Infinite Cache.Red Gamign Tech...some fanboy who here on the forum until a few days ago had to be taken into consideration more than Digital Foundry
This. No, people were speculating about a different cache arrangement for the CPU cores. Infinity Cache was ruled out a long time ago, since the chip was not large enough for that.
The I/O complex is probably on the opposite side of the CPU... two extremes... so I don’t believe the FPU is there because it could generate a big latency. The FPU does not necessarily have to be installed in the CPU. It can also be in the I / O complex. Or, for reasons I don't understand anyway, Sony thinks it can do without it.
You didn't tell people anything beside clicking on the triggered emoji like a little kid.
No one claimed the PS5 had infinity cache. Everyone was surprised how the PS5 was performing better on CPU intensive games with a lower 100mhz clockspeed. So people speculated, some said the IO and efficiency were better and made the difference and others guessed maybe the PS5 had Infinity Cache. It was pure speculation by most and no one hard confirmed it. Maybe read or listen to everything they state before jumping the gun.
He never said PS5 has Infinite Cache.
He speculated that the cache scrubbers (confirmed by Cerny) is probably something like Infinite Cache.
Unrelated... you need just to stop to spread FUD the others didn’t said... you made up too many things in the last 24 hours.yes yes he also heard about ps5 rdna3 features. follow him is a total trustworthy source
It feels a bit schizophrenic to have Johnny Silverhand answering to John Wick, maybe someone with a Neo avatar can join in?No, people were speculating about a different cache arrangement for the CPU cores. Infinity Cache was ruled out a long time ago, since the chip was not large enough for that.
I just read on Wikipedia that an FPU is also possible as an independent chip. So I just speculated. Maybe it's a chip outside of the APU.The I/O complex is probably on the opposite side of the CPU... two extremes... so I don’t believe the FPU is there because it could generate a big latency.
Lol why should they? What would they possibly get out of doing so?Hopefully this will push Sony to explain PS5's hardware more clearly to put an end to misinformation and confusion.
Unrelated... you need just to stop to spread FUD the others didn’t said... you made up too many things in the last 24 hours.
Oh they are. Very much so. Not in terms of accuracy, but as a limiting source of latency. Data locality is always a concern.I have no idea whether floating point calculations are sensitive to latency.
It was never going to have 128mb of infinity Cache. There was speculation it might have 4mb of it. Just speculation but obviously some people can't help themselves......When did I mention Cerny? You made that up.
I'm talking about the people here and on Twitter who were saying this unified L3 cache was "basically confirmed" and running with it as fact.
The FPU is there, just at 128bits and not the usual 256. Basically it has half precision. The FPU does not necessarily have to be installed in the CPU. It can also be in the I / O complex. Or, for reasons I don't understand anyway, Sony thinks it can do without it.
Yeah, he put pretty heavy emphasis to unified L3 for the CPU in mutliple videos but apparently his sources were wrong about the matter. Unfortunate.This.
RGT more speculated about L3 cache of the CPU that is not even related with the Infinite Cache of the GPU.
Seems like Xbox fans uses Apples to talk about Bananas.
This will confirm that RedGamingTech and other bullshit insiders were jerking us off all this time. No unified CPU cache (potential zen 3 feature), no rdna 3.0 features.ok so in layman's terms, what am I looking at and why is this newsworthy?
I'm waiting info about that because i been muted just for this reasonThis will confirm that RedGamingTech and other bullshit insiders were jerking us off all this time. No unified CPU cache (potential zen 3 feature), no rdna 3.0 features.
It will also confirm whether or not the PS5 is using RDNA 1.0 CUs and has more in common with RDNA 1.0 than RDNA 2.0.
Not saying he is right but the die shot won’t confirm or deny anything he speculated in that twitter.![]()
I'm waiting for Locuza info about the dieshot
lol it's keeping up with the 12 tflops gpu and in some cases outperforming it by a small margin, but i wouldnt say its kicking its butt. The beauty that kicks a 12 TF console ass performance-wise in the naked. I love it![]()
he is making up stuff ...just don't talk about that site/youtuber as something to take seriously. topic closed. Not saying he is right but the die shot won’t confirm or deny anything his speculation.

lol i cant believe I forgot about this. Its shocking that they did this at all. made me think that the breach was far worse than they let on.
The CUs are RDNA 2... Cerny said that in March. This will confirm that RedGamingTech and other bullshit insiders were jerking us off all this time. No unified CPU cache (potential zen 3 feature), no rdna 3.0 features.
It will also confirm whether or not the PS5 is using RDNA 1.0 CUs and has more in common with RDNA 1.0 than RDNA 2.0.
It feels like people lacks nuance nowadays, like an insiders said it has supposedly some zen 3 features and some people hear it is full zen 3 but in reality you can have zen 3 feature(s) without having a full zen 3, it just helps a bit.It was never going to have 128mb of infinity Cache. There was speculation it might have 4mb of it. Just speculation but obviously some people can't help themselves......
this is absolutely true 100%The CUs are RDNA 2... Cerny said that in March.
It was never gonna be 128mb. Probably 4mb of L3 cache which was pure speculation. No, people were speculating about a different cache arrangement for the CPU cores. Infinity Cache was ruled out a long time ago, since the chip was not large enough for that.
