Just because it isn't worth engaging with crayon eaters who actually think the following things:

It is fine that other people are getting to play your games two years later on their preferred platform.

Sony will also be absolutely fine and should have done this fucking years ago.

Simmer down and play some Bloodborne.

Oh shit, where is that from?

Sounds a little too good to be true.
Who are the ones porting these games over? The main developers or third party port house?

I'm not really a fan of these PC ports. I don't think don't think devalue their console, and don't think they will considering how much money they get from PS+.
But hey, if they still release on console first and foremost, I guess there's nothing really to lose.

People care too much about what is ported to PC.
Play the fucking games. Or don't.
Too much? It allows a lot of people to either play those games for the first time or replaying them with better resolution and framerates. Of course people will care about this bro.

Are people actually BOTHERED by this? Seriously? Bloodborne released March 24, 2015. That is almost 6 YEARS ago. Not only that, you can still play it on your PS4. Uncharted came out in 2015 also. God of War in 2018. All of these YEARS after the original release. YOU CAN STILL PLAY THESE! Why are people bothered by this? Christ.

I should clarify, I mean the people who are sore that they are getting PC ports and the people who seem to think that doing this is a bad decision for Sony.

Why where pc fanboys so bitter when gears of war showed up?

If they're gonna release it on PC it'd be nice if they could at least release a PS5 patch for Bloodborne PS4 because i would like to play it. I haven't been able to because the horrendous frame pacing makes it unplayable for me.

Oh then we agree mate, nothing wrong with that. In fact I think it's a cool move by Sony, this may atract some PC players to buying a PS5 to play the sequels or those games, or at least make some money selling old games.

i love how i come in with increasingly dark takes and you still manage to one up me lmao.

Sony ending up as SEGA is a scenario so dark it makes me shiver.

But that is flat out just never going to happen. In fact, this could yet bite Microsoft on the arse.

As for SEGA, how can that comparison ever be made at all? SEGA's downfall is contributed to so many well documented reasons. Just to name a few.
  1. They were fucking hemorrhaging money by the end and were severely in debt.
  2. SEGA execs in the early days were pissing company profits on personal gain.
  3. They had more supply on shelves in warehouses of the SEGA DreamCast than they had actually sold.
  4. Gamer's were looking forward to the PlayStation 2 that many never bothered to consider DreamCast an option.
  5. EA, SquareEnix and Rock Star did not support the DreamCast due to failed relationships during the Saturn era.
  6. The Saturn was a colossal failure. It was a nightmare to develop for and all it's key third party titles became staples on the PlayStation. I.e. Tomb Raider.
  7. SEGA pissed their retail partners off big time with their stunt at E3 announcing the Saturn was out now, without informing or giving stock to major retailers.
  8. SEGA's strength was porting arcade games to home consoles. By the time the Saturn was out arcades globally were virtually dead. There were no big titles to port.
  9. SEGA pissed away money on too many poor decisions such as the endless add-ons and accessories for the Genesis/Mega Drive that never made a profit. 32x, SEGA CD etc.
  10. SEGA even found themselves competing against themselves in certain territories and the cost of a 32x, MegaDrive and a SEGA CD was far more than the cost of a SEGA Saturn.
  11. The Game Gear and NOMAD were also failures. They never managed to even make a dent in Nintendo's complete and utter dominance of the handheld gaming market. Even with a superior system.
  12. The SEGA Saturn had a very poor line-up of software and the only people who really knew how to develop it were SEGA themselves. The lack of a core Sonic title is a glaring omission from the catalogue.
  13. In Europe and the UK in-particular, SEGA severed it's relationship with Virgin who turned the Mega Drive into a market leader and helped SEGA capture over 50% of the 16 bit console market pushing the SNES into 2nd place.
That isn't even the half of it, those are just the glaringly bad mistakes that SEGA made. The writing was on the wall in 1994, never mind 1999 when the DreamCast launched. How Sony could be added to that comparison is ridiculous. Their biggest failure was the PS3 launch but their turn around and profit since has been remarkable. Even the Vita was profitable for all it's faults.

"PlayStation just shot themselves in the foot."

Sony just shot themselves in the foot.
I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Sony exclusives for their system, nor will they purchase any of Sony's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Sony has alienated an entire market with this move.
Sony, publicly apologize and cancel Bloodborne for PC or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Say hello to the 3DS my mate, Japan gravitated away from console games a LONG time ago. Look how well the PSP and Vita did in Japan. That's caused more upset for Sony. The Japanese market has massively changed. It's not just the culture, even though I think there's a bit of bullshit in there.

I'm going to get backlash for this so get going on that, but sincerely why get a PS5/XSX? If I didn't love physical media so much, I'd have quit playing on Xbox/PS a long time ago, and it seems like they don't care for the diehard fans as much anymore. By that I mean just play their games on PC, especially when their consoles are impossible to find.

I know it's maybe half a dozen games by now, but I just can't justify a console purchase when we rarely have full exclusives nowadays, on one hand I want more people to enjoy it but on the other these are literally system seller type games, granted they're old but still, they're literally the only reason why consoles still exist, moves like this are just another nail in the coffin. They don't need to do what Microsoft is doing and release all of the sequels to these games on PC, you're just begging for consoles to die at that point. If Bloodborne wasn't "restricted" to PS4 and its infrastructure, we wouldn't have bought the console. Maybe it's a select few to get people on the PS library? Either way, get rid of Jim Ryan, maybe Hermen Hulst, have some passionate execs like Trenton and Layden.

One thing's for sure, can't wait to double dip on all of these and I'll probably slap myself later for posting this, but uh... this is why I have a Switch. Just watch me change my mind if or when these games do hit PC, because I'm not much of a fanboy at all, I understand that they didn't give exclusives from the bottom of their hearts and I applaud those who wanted this, I'm just giving my opinion, and hopefully people don't think wrongfully of me, at least some people here will agree with me on this.

I love how Xbox super fans had suddenly changed their minds once PC became part of the Xbox infrastructure.

An oldie, but a goodie.

We're not wrong, and wanting full exclusivity isn't fanboyism either.

Because, respectfully, these games are system sellers, and I think your justifications are just excuses honestly, I don't know how to put that kindly.

Doesn't matter if Bloodborne is 6 years old or 10 years old, millions of people bought a $400 system just to play that masterpiece (AND I just shot my argument in the foot because everyone deserves to play that masterpiece, NGLTY) and the caveat was "aNtI-cOnSuMeRiSm" and being restricted to one system, but my justification/excuse for exclusivity is the fact that they're the ONLY reason why one would need a $400 system, they're what PC lacks. Now there's not many justifications for buying the new $500 system that nobody can get ahold of.

I understand third party games, but not first or second party. Preferably I'd want it to be very few.

Yep consoles are dead without exclusives. Just look at xbox.

Maybe its different in america where pc and console is totally different markets. But in northern europe. Everyone has had a gaming pc at one point. Pc was always the biggest market. It was always mainstream. I cannot see how console gaming can remain viable as a budget fifa box solution only.

I think we will see more and more console esque pcs comming, and then thats gone as well.

Look at the PS4 in Japan.

Yes, it declined in sales from the PlayStation 3, which declined in sales from the PlayStation 2.

Japan moved to handheld gaming and mobile gaming a long time ago. Local developers in Japan make more money from handheld games that are cheaper to make and distribute. A few days in Akihabara showed me how many PSP, Vita, DS, 3DS and Switch games there are that I had never even heard of.

Maybe all those fools who think witcher 3 was better than bloodborne will finally be able to see the error of their ways.

The PC is getting everything. It's really the only platform to have if you want ALL games covered (besides Nintendo).

I guess we're in for the show of a lifetime when this is made official.

Im looking forward to reactions on Demon Souls going to pc since they themselves inadvertently posted it at the end of the announcement trailer lol.

Bloodborne PC would put me in a strange position. I loved, loved, loved the game. Then got a high-end PC and am in master race heaven since then. Bought the DLC and was hyped for more Bloodborne. But suddenly the stutter bothered me so much that I couldn't play it. So I've never even touched the DLC, despite owning it.

60fps, 4k Bloodborne with mods would be great. But I don't know if I have it in me to play most of the game again.

Yes, it fucking is.
From the user perspective the only real difference that comes from "full exclusivity" is having more ammo for the petty and borderline-retarded list wars.
That's just a silly opinion from people who engage in flame wars themselves, we get it, it's just a piece of plastic, but I'm not going around saying which platform is better or saying it matters and it'scertainly not anti-consumer, I'm just giving my opiniin. It's not a fact, the actual fact from what I gathered is is that the reason why consoles sell as much as they do is because of exclusivity and there's no evidence of any other factors.

Doesn't matter, I'll criticize all 3 the same. Of course fanboyism is a problem, but releasing full exclusives on PC isn't going to get rid of said problem. Can I not want exclusivity without being disingenuously (if that's a word) called every "corporate slave" insult known to mankind? Even though just a few years ago those people were touting about how much better they thought Xbox exclusives were and they suddenly did a complete 180 and now all exclusives are anti-consumer, acting like PC elitists thinking they're more intelligent and mature when they haven't changed at all.

Not gonna knock anybody for it, we just disagree, but saying that defending exclusives is fanboyism is fallacious.

Not sure if that first sentence is sarcasm but if it wasn't for Game Pass and turning Xbox around, their consoles would be dead for sure. Now Xbox has a better lineup of Game Pass games, and less people will be buying PS's, fair enough.

Jesus Christ.

Those sock accounts just want to anger people lol.

The shocking thing is, Sony will STILL HAVE GAMES! The games that are multiplatform do not cease to exist, the library doesn't suddenly become lessened.

Oh shit, where is that from?

It's called "The real suicide squad" from 2016 on youtube, it's short but funny.

You missed "Glorious nippon" but good effort nonetheless.

People think this somehow lowers the value of the machines they bought, and act as if they would have bought a PC if they knew these games would come to PC two years later. They wouldn't. They're idiots.

Ghost of Sushi is the one I'll buy in an instant. Unless they gonna bring all Uncharted games (at least 5) I don't care.
