People think this somehow lowers the value of the machines they bought, and act as if they would have bought a PC if they knew these games would come to PC two years later. They wouldn't. They're idiots.

It also removes ammunition for LIST WARZ.

How fucking sad that Sony fans would be so fragile over years old ports. You played it first, you're already balls deep in other sequels or waiting for the sequel which will again be exclusive for god knows how long on your console. Why would Sony, expending audience to gamers who are clearly not that interested in the console proposed value, be a threat to PlayStation? Hell, if PC gamers enjoy Sony's games, it might actually make them interested to buy the console for playing the sequels earlier.

I can't wrap my head around how it's not a win-win situation for everyone involved.
First of all, its just a joke. The gif is poking fun at both sony fans and sony. If you cant laugh at yourself then whats the point.

Secondly, there are plenty of reasons to be upset. We can see that despite being a port of a 4 year old game done by an outside studio, Guerrilla Games had to waste dev resources fixing the bugs themselves. They spent almost 6 months fixing it. Those are resources that were taken away from Horizon Forbidden West. If Forbidden West gets delayed, they will blame it on covid19 but we will know it was because they were too busy with the PC port.

Another example is MLB The Show. Fifa and NBA2k both got substantial next gen upgrades to character models and other graphical details and yet MLB the show a first party title is shipping with the same shitty last gen graphics. Could it because they had to ship four xbox versions this time around? It would appear so. They are not like the EA Sports and Take 2 teams who are used to churning out multiplatform games. They simply dont have the resources to ship multiple games while also offering the next gen boost in graphics we expect.

How is either situation a win win for PS5 owners? Sounds like a lose lose to me. How is Bloodborne getting ported to PC before it even gets a PS4 Pro or PS5 patch is a win win scenario for people who spent $399 on a Pro and another $500 on a PS5. We shouldve just bought a $1000 PC and gotten a 60 fps BB patch. Same goes for games like Uncharted collection and DriveClub which never got a PS4 Pro upgrade let alone a PS5 one.

The rest is all speculation. There is a chance PS5 games launching simultaneously on PC causes longer delays, more bugs and less polish we have come to expect from multiplatform titles compared to AAA Sony games. There is a chance this magical SSD I/O Cerny shoved down our throat wont get utilized because if you cant port a game to PC because the SSD and IO requirements are too high, execs wont greenlight it in the first place. So I paid $500 for fewer tflops and an SSD that no one will take advantage of.

And finally, just the mentality of multiplatform publishers putting profits over quality. We have seen it time and time again this gen. We saw it a couple of months ago when CD PRoject shipped a completely broken game to hit the holiday season. We saw EA rush out not one but three bioware games to hit their March fiscal year deadlines. ME3, Andromeda, Anthem. All great games that couldve used a few more months in the oven sacrificed for quarterly profits. The entire point of first party exclusives is to show off your console and put out a product that makes people shell out $500. It's not to make profits. The moment it becomes about profits they incentive to hit max profits becomes the goal and everyone turns into greedy EA at that point.

So PC players will be able to play Bloodborne at 60fps while Playstation users are stuck to 30 unless you mod a PS4 (which is hardly ideal).

I really don't understand this strategy.

This and sadly also because they fear that they can no longer shit on Xbox for having no exclusive games.

According to REEEEEE, Sony plans to release all these gems for PC. I know for a fact Bloodborne will be announced soon and God of War was mentioned a few times in podcasts. The others are a welcomed addition.

He has also leaked before, even though the times were off:

BloodBorne and GoW for PC? I'm INNNNNNNNNN
Uncharted...eh...maybe.

If its 'Cboat', and i assume it is by the name, he is a genuine leaker that posted on here for years.
I remember CBOAT. It is %100 not Cboat. There's no indication of that whatsoever, aside from this random person stealing some of Cboats naming convention. Am I Golgo 13 from the 1980's video game? Must be because that's my forum name.

Those are some old ass games.

Don't buy ghosts coming that early though.

Sony 1st party are the best in the world bar none. Time for the PC plebs to recognize what they been missing lol

You act like if 50 people make a ps5 game, those same people have to make the PC port in addition to new games they are developing. In reality the team would expand to do this.

Furthermore, you fail to point out that these ports can and will bring the team and company more money to make their products in the future even better.

So he basically named every big PlayStation exclusive? Didn't leak neither Horizons or Days Gone.

Insider confirmed!

Ghosts of Tsushima is a biggie; that's a very recent game (hell, it's from last year)!

The others, especially Bloodborne, are quite older, but seeing GoT there (if this is true) might be suggesting that 1-2 year interval between PS5/PC releases for 1P games I was thinking and talking about a while back (and even Day-and-Date for multiplayer-centric online stuff like the TLOUII multiplayer campaign).

Interesting and exciting times, for sure :pie_thinking: ...

Imagine using ReeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesetEra as a bastion of what should and shouldn't be discussed in gaming  .

Sorry, but if literal Reddit and 4Chan rumors were a-okay in the past, then this should be open for discussion, too. And this one has a lot more credibility to it than most of those, considering only Jim Ryan himself has said very recently that "many more games" will be coming to PC (or something to that effect).
I'm not saying Reddit or 4Chan rumors should be posted or believed either; they're definitely no better. I'm only saying GAF members have an oddly juvenile tendency to let random, unsubstantiated rumors be taken as FACT that result in 50 page orgies of idiot arguments about "fanboy tears". I don't find it helpful or useful, and most sane and rational adults would have the same objection.

That being said, Bloodborne and all of those games may very well come to PC, which I don't mind discussing. But ejaculating random nonsense from internet strangers only cheapens and lessens the discussion.

BUT SONY IS COMMITTING SEPPUKU BY SENDING MUH GAMES TO PC. I DONT WANT OTHER GAMERS TO ENJOY GAMING. NOOOOOO.

I believe this. He was right about Kingdom Hearts and Sony wants to have a bigger base so these games can have a sequel. If Bloodborne does well on PC best believe they will greenlight bloodborne 2. You would have to be a fool of you think Sony is just going to let Microsoft be more accessible on other platforms and them not getting in on some of the action.

Are people actually BOTHERED by this? Seriously? Bloodborne released March 24, 2015. That is almost 6 YEARS ago. Not only that, you can still play it on your PS4. Uncharted came out in 2015 also. God of War in 2018. All of these YEARS after the original release. YOU CAN STILL PLAY THESE! Why are people bothered by this? Christ.
Because these aren't going to be straight ports. They will be enhanced in some ways just like Horizon, DS, Detroit, etc..

Bloodbore alone is gonna sell some 5 million on PC, that's over 100 million USD in revenue for Sony. Other those games will sell couple million too. Sony is dumb for not having done this sooner.

God of War would be great. I bought it on PS4 Pro, but stopped after like 4hrs because of the uneven performance. Wanted to wait for the PS5. Guess I don't need the PS5 anymore.

Joined June 2020. Leaks for clicks

Oh you like high framrates .... Could swear I've seen you defending resolution over frame rates in comparisons between consoles ok n not so many words .
Nice try at a gotcha, but it doesn't really work. Just like my TV, my monitor also has VRR, which means I can live with the frame rate not being a stable 144 hz.

I'd honestly replay Bloodborne, the performance on PS4 left a lot to be desired so I'd also hope the frame pacing was fixed by the brute-force PC method.

imagine what moders can do to bloodborne... oh boy

giphy.gif

I would double dip.

But I'm not sure. They said more titles are coming, everyone and their mother could throw random title names around for clicks and they'd have a 50% chance of being right. Bloodborne has been rumored for something one way or another for the past 5 years, not holding my breath until I see it.

Sony just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase a PlayStation 5, nor will they purchase any of Sony's hardware. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Sony has alienated an entire market with this move.

Sony, publicly apologize and cancel these PC ports or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Yep consoles are dead without exclusives. Just look at xbox.

Maybe its different in america where pc and console is totally different markets. But in northern europe. Everyone has had a gaming pc at one point. Pc was always the biggest market. It was always mainstream. I cannot see how console gaming can remain viable as a budget fifa box solution only.

I think we will see more and more console esque pcs comming, and then thats gone as well.
Xbox is dead? Lol

will be 60fps on PC I bet.
urgh i hope it's not. i'd love if they put in support for unlimited refresh rate. it's not fun playing a game at 60hz on a 165hz monitor....

i know the first Dark Souls engine was tied to frame rate which meant it'd mess up physics if the frame rate was too high. i don't know if they've improved it for games like Bloodborne/Sekiro. anyway if it is frame rate is still tied to engine then someone will just mod it to support beyond 60fps. if a modder can do it then i don't see why From Software couldn't put out an official fix.
