- Scarlett Johansson's breast reduction
- The rise of the "Souls-like" videogame genre
- Twitter
- Pet Culture ("Fur babies/Emotional Support Animals")
- The cancellation of Firefly (So it couldn't last 8 seasons, turn to shit, and no one ever wants to talk about it again)

You had to slip my games in there didn't you.

20th Century Fox deciding to make AvP with director Paul WS Anderson, as opposed to Alien 5 directed by Ridley Scott & written by James Cameron.

There was a time I'd have thought your take on Souls games was crazy, but so tired of that formula already, and I hate when games even borrow just a couple of the elements even.

Twitter is the more open and immediate crybaby platform, but the more insidious platform is Facebook. Slowly algorithm-ing everyone apart as best it can, moving away from its original and even second wave focus of connecting families and friends to focus on capturing everyone worldwide in its net (shadow profiles for non-members in case they decide to fill in the gap, etc).

Twitter is just louder in online communities.

Jennifer connelly's reduction was a far greater tragedy than scarjo.

What?? So that's why she was so much hotter in the 90s! I knew something was different but just didn't hit me that she got a reduction.

What's up with hot Jewish women getting their Yaama haamaas reduced?

-The rise of Cancel Culture and insular woke SJW mobs, and media's unflinching support of the shitshow, to the detriment of literally everything's integrity and quality.
-Twitter.
-The Great Exodus and Rise and slow fall of Resetera.
-WAP (the song, not what it's referencing)
-E3 2021.

Why do you have to turn this into a serious topic?
I agree.

My pop culture hot take that always seems to annoy some people is that Firefly was just fine. I saw it a couple of years after it aired so I went into it with a huge amount of hype, as if it was some all-time classic. And it's just a decent, kinda fun, sci-fi show.

1. Social Media (facebook, twitter, instagram, youtube)

2. Human rights abuse and lack of condemnation

3. Jim Ryan as President of Playstation

4., Japan Studio falling.

5. Crystal generation

That's the secret truth. Way above average compared to scifi channel garbage, but average overall .

- Social media and the constant need for validation
- the "you are perfect the way you are" movement
- the new authoritarian movement
- the "if I was not around when it happened it did not happen" generation
- the new addiction to violence

3000 cards not being available
No freesync on steam deck
No ac origin 2.0 announcement or a expansion
No full tripple AAA remake of Myst
No pokemon mmo

The big deal with Firefly is that most fans feel that the shows potential was off the damn charts and never had a fair chance to become a classic (or completely fall off the rails) we just wanted more!

The off the charts potential is subjective so even if I don't agree with that then fair enough.

Plenty of shows get cancelled after one season though. How many of those get movies? So the Firefly fans got more. Yet it's still talked about like it's this singularly wronged property.

-The move from slasher horror to documentary horror
-Live services overtaking physical bought software
-destruction of labor unions
-Non user replaceable batteries
-Invasive employers expecting people to work at home after clocking out from the office.

- Decline of home video and rise of streaming rental services
- Decline of CD music and rise of low-quality MP3s or music streaming services
- Deaths of some of the last great film, music, etc entertainers
- Modern movies and TV reliant on CGI rather than implementing practical effects
- Social media

  • Darth Jar Jar not being made canon
  • Brad Dourif not playing the Joker
  • Simpsons not ending on a high note
  • Jif being renamed Cif
  • No academy award for best memes

That movie was a slap in the face and exactly what we didn't want we wanted the show to continue...
that movie was bascially FOX telling us to fuck off writing 1000x letters to bring it back for years lmao

And Its the wronged property firefly fans care about?.....I don't know man it seems like your irritated about the opinions of superfans of a show you aren't really a fan of? thats...interesting
