The absolute brain dead cringe that came out on its platform and by its 'stars' was revolting. Not only that, sometimes it was even really harmful (people drowning dogs for views, hundreds of videos showing girls converting to Islam for 'love', high school failed fuck-ups sporting jackets and suddenly gaining admiration of young girls....). I was so happy the day it was banned. Fuck that shit.

USA is Israel Ally, no doubt about it, but I've yet to see it go the other way. It's very much a one-way friendship.
As for competent allies, you are missing my country, France, even if we don't agree on everything, we've helped each other in Africa, in Afghanistan and other conflicts.

20 years ago I would agree, in fact in the 80s when I served I probably saw some of the last good ones. Now not so much. That’s not to say France and Germany are incompetent, it’s numbers, somewhat inconsequential in anything other than a police action. The only thing preventing Europe from being rolled over right now is America.
So there are no longer respected fighting armies in Europe, haven’t been for decades. The vast majority are poorly trained as well. ( 7 years 3rd ID USAEUR ) . I really don’t see any of Europe digging in and fighting. I see a lot of capitulation. Just my opinion of course.

When armies start growing the desire to stay independant and make your own weapons grows.
Look at France and our desire to keep most of our core weapon system in house.

Except France and the UK I would say. I don't disagree with your assessment that most European Armies are poorly trained but only these 2 european armies have seen close to continuous combat all over the globe.
As for armies being Police Actions, well , welcome to the 21th century, that's what Afghanistan and Irak were, Talibans and ISIS aren't armies, they are terrorists.
Same thing that France is fighting in Mali and in the greater Center Africa.

1) The rise of 'pet fetish' culture. Just this morning I saw someone online saying that they were sad from looking at the news and wanted a new 'cute dogs' account to look at.
2) 'Everything is IP.' It seems like every movie/show/etc is either an already-established IP or brand, or looking to launch one. Right now I'm rewatching Gladiator, and last night it was Gangs of New York. You just see less and less of that kind of movie these days. I liked Black Widow well enough, but I'd rather have something like that as an original story/characters.
3) Narcissism. I think this explains so much of the bullshit I see around me: people looking at their phones when they drive, cutting in line, shouting at the manager at the store or restaurant. It's "I'm going to do whatever I want at any given moment" and it's just a sickness. Society won't survive it.
Sidenote: A few months ago, I was talking to a new supervisor at work. He said something like "You know, it's like when you're hanging out with your friends and someone wants to take a selfie." And I said in response, with clear disdain on my face, "I"ve never hung out with people who take pictures of themselves."
4) Empathy. I'm sick of hearing about empathy. Don't be a psychopath or a sadist, of course, but I don't think it's healthy to try to feel what everyone around you is feeling, all the time. I also don't like having people use "empathy" as code for lowering standards, letting people get away with things, etc. I'm a teacher and this is a big movement in schools: "You need to give them all As because empathy and reasons and they're good kids." We've completely disconnected cause and effect.
5) Not a complaint here. But anyone who doesn't know about Young Jennifer Connelly, I strongly suggest you check out The Rocketeer. Pretty sure it's on Disney +. It's by the director of Captain America: First Avenger, and there's a whole lot of common elements. Like, most of them.

Vin is now too old to play Hannibal, plus you're right about his acting skills.
However, he also wanted to direct it. Not sure how that would have worked, but it sounded epic.
His plan was to film it in Latin and Punic (although Punic is a dead language, so not sure how that would have worked) and make it as historically accurate as possible. The battle scenes would have been godlike, but alas he still hasn't got round to it.

Well this could be due to not having an artistic mind's eye. Anime translates to cg translates to reality. My mind can do such automatically but merely at the level of grasping the concept not necessarily visualizing, though with effort im able to visualize too. It is akin to politician cartoons in news paper.
The issue is if translated to reality many anime would basically have the most beautiful actors in reality. That is why I have issues with normal tv series I cant help but notice all the flaws in the human faces. Similar happens in the real world i can see only flaws in the vast vast majority of humans. As if this was a world hit strongly with the ugly stick.
Of course with deepfakes and genetic engineering and computer controlled cosmetic surgery with synthesized tissued this can be removed from future tv series as all actors can be made to be super beautiful( as in pure cocaine through the eyes addictive beauty).
Then it shall be that future tv series with humans will be like realistic versions of anime freed from all physical flaws unless a message is intended to be conveyed by certain flaws as happens in cartoons of old conveying certain messages to children through character physical appearance.

Artists and DNN can take a person and make an anime drawing inspired on them. Artists and DNN can translate back and forth
