Who is this guy again? He sounds worse at video games than even me.
he is STILL on to it??What makes this even funnier is the title of his latest Metroid video:
Fired from what? he's retired lolOkay, it's clear now that this is an attention-grab grift.
He should be fired over this, he's insulting his own peers.
He makes YouTube content and the attempt at attention towards the channel he puts content on is almost certainly for financial gain either from monetization revenue or sponsorship deals, and he's even still in videogames. How the heck is that "retired"?Fired from what? he's retired lol
It definitely is. Remember the whole "6ix9ine" debacle? It has showed us that getting a lot attention doesn't automatically result in respect, neither does it result into longevity. He only was relevant for his antics, but his songs didn't have any staying power. He charted high, and fell off of soon after, until he did the next stupid thing. No one was really listening to him, they only wanted to see the clown do his thing.Okay, it's clear now that this is an attention-grab grift.
The song debuted at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming 6ix9ine's first number-one single in the country, and Minaj's second and her first as lead artist. She also became the second female rapper to debut atop the Hot 100, following Lauryn Hill in 1998.[23] The following week the song dropped to number 34, becoming the first song to fall over 30 positions after a number one debut, and breaking the record for largest drop down the chart from number one in Hot 100 history at the time.[24][25][a] It spent a total of 4 weeks on the charts, marking the first time in Hot 100history that a song that peaked at number one charted for only 4 weeks.

There's some times where you can point to specific things that ARE badly designed, though. If you can articulate the reasons why, it's not "lazy".I wish we could get over calling design choices we disagree with "bad game design", it is a lazy critique for one and assumes there is a proper way to design something.

One example this year that springs to mind is the end game design from Outriders, wherein the developers forced everyone into a pure DPS glass cannon build if they wanted to have a chance of getting the best drops in a run. By making everything based solely on completion time, they removed the ability for players to have tank or healer builds, because there was simply no way for players to finish the challenges under the time limits, if they wanted to get a Gold tier drop (and the drop rates were remarkably stingy anyways). For a game that had a ton of good mods to customize your character, the end game was most definitely "bad game design".
I actually think it's the overwhelming majority that's giving him shit for this.To be fair to him, he is just giving back the same attitude he is receiving from the vocal minority of his audience. I don't think that's the smartest choice but that's human nature for you.

Yeah, most people don't leave comments, but have you seen the dislike ratio on some of his Metroid videos? It's an overwhelming majority negativeI'd argue the majority of anyone's audience probably doesn't post comments or on gaming forums. Even if the majority of Jaffe's audience disagrees with him in this scenario, they are more apt to shrug and move on than to kick internet rocks at him.
Take a look at the comments to the video. I had a hard time finding a positive one.I'd argue the majority of anyone's audience probably doesn't post comments or on gaming forums. It's pretty pointless speculating on what the people who don't engage in the conversation think. That's human nature. Bitch and complain vocally when you feel slighted and stay silent when things are satisfactory or better. Negative comments aren't surprising but unless the ratio of views to comments is 1:1, it doesn't mean much.

Yeah dislikes unfortunately pays the bills as well on Youtube. But he could’ve just bought some stocks if that’s his motivation, and spent the time playing something he actually like, the earnings from one single Nvidia stock during October alone would’ve payed for Dread.Oh man, the cringe is off the charts.
And he’s honest enough at the end to call us all moronic for raising up video engagement, subscriber numbers and revenue.
I 100% believe what I'm saying and I've defended it time and again and the people who try to offer explanations for why I am wrong don't offer any compelling logic as to why.Why is this topic still in first page?!
Isn't clear to everyone that this guy is just doing this for clicks?! He probably doesn't even believe his own words...
You have to do this on YouTube to grow your channel, everyone else does, it's how social media works. He makes YouTube content and the attempt at attention towards the channel he puts content on is almost certainly for financial gain either from monetization revenue or sponsorship deals
Discussion about video games in a youtube comments section isn't a lynch mob. They're the people actually talking. Is everyone who has a dissenting opinion a lynch mob?As is listening to the internet lynch mob.
I think you’re wrong but I’m as gray and stubborn as you so I’m not sure it’s worth anybody’s time discussing itI 100% believe what I'm saying and I've defended it time and again and the people who try to offer explanations for why I am wrong don't offer any compelling logic as to why.
And yes, at THIS point, sure: doing it for clicks and for fun. I said what I needed to say in the FIRST video. But I won't lie: of course it's fun to give back some of the trolling and pushback I'm getting. What? I'm just supposed to take it? I don't think so.
I'm glad you can smile and shrug it off, and push back with a little humor rather than act like some victim or bitter person. You're fine, people are just super dramatic about everything.I 100% believe what I'm saying and I've defended it time and again and the people who try to offer explanations for why I am wrong don't offer any compelling logic as to why.

Maybe you should read this thread. Or the comments on all your Metroid videos.the people who try to offer explanations for why I am wrong don't offer any compelling logic as to why.
That's not a bar that anyone is going to pass. You're literally never going to see a video on a channel of any decent size with a 1 to 1 comment to view ratioThat's human nature. Bitch and complain vocally when you feel slighted and stay silent when things are satisfactory or better. Negative comments aren't surprising but unless the ratio of views to comments is 1:1, it doesn't mean much.

I wish people would stop using this kind of thing as a way to score points.some really fucked up comments to David and his family.

Dude, I am SO sorry! I am trying to figure out why whenever I post a tweet or video it sends out a magical signal that literally FORCES you to watch my shit and pay attention. That must be so fucking annoying. I will do all I can to fix it before Thanksgiving but from what I hear, it's cause the whole 'force people to watch my shit' tech is super old and archaic. You know, like Metroid Dread.I've been patient but I really wish Jaffe would just shut the fuck up at this point. He's literally arguing a case for stupidity to dictate game design.
May be streaming it tonite, in factdavidjaffe where’s my Mario Party Superstars video boy
Have you watched the game dev toolkit video? I don't think it gets better explained than that. Hardly shitty design.I 100% believe what I'm saying and I've defended it time and again and the people who try to offer explanations for why I am wrong don't offer any compelling logic as to why.

And you should try to learn when to take people seriously and when to recognize they are just having some fun.You should try to learn from those better than yourself and see it as an opportunity to improve rather than lashing out and trying to tear them down as you have been.
#1- Your mom jokes are always funny. Not as funny as the face your mother makes when she climaxes, but still: always funny.Oh my fuck, this dude is actually making your mom jokes and "you should have been aborted," jokes to negative commenters on YouTube. This is what an actual midlife crisis looks like.
