I answered this poll WHILE playing a game. Let's see other platforms do that.

Also, no phones. That's cheating.

Ever since high school I've preferred PC as my platform of choice. I like building my own system and the customization aspect, I like having the better graphics, I like not having to pay to play online, etc...

Xbox for the controller, OS features (quick resume is one of the best features of the last 2 decades), and first party games, though I'm playing more and more on PC as well these days.

It's really tough for me to choose between PC and PlayStation, but right now, the PS5. Convenience, games look great in checkerboarded 4K and HDR, the DualSense is amazing, 3D audio is great, they have the best exclusives for my tastes, and it's a mean UHD bluray player to boot. Not to mention almost all of my real life friends who play games with any regularity started gaming on PlayStation exclusively last gen.

It depends.

I was a Nintendo guy as kid until the 32bit era where all consoles were pretty much mandatory. dreamcast became my primary after that.

When that died the ps2 beame my primary by default but I did prefer the GC controller so I used that for multiplats and multiplayer stuff.

Went back to being a Nintendo guy for the Wii and Wii U with the X360/PS4 as secondaries.

When the Wii U died I supposed I moved over to playstation by I have no real fondness for it.

I had planned to make Xbox my primary console this gen yet somehow I ended up with a PS5 and a Switch instead.

PlayStation has the best exclusive games, but PC has the best customization and mods (and also multiplayer and cheap game deals for the most part). I don't have a PS5 yet, so PS4 is my go-to console.

Nintendo is cool, kind of in its own lane compared to the others. I like Nintendo consoles more than Xbox though. Xbox hasn't been interesting to me in over a decade, like 360 was peak.

Xbox Series X. I got it March 2021.
I have all the systems sans PS5. Cant find a PS5.
Xbox has gotten pretty much 99 percent of my past year playtime.
I did take a few hours to get into Days Gone on the PS4pro but thats been It in 2021.

PC isn't applicable for me, but it is far and away the site of my greatest game experiences... I chose PS because my PSP, Vita, PS3, and PS4 Pro have together given me my top 10 non-pc game experiences since my GameCube broke in 2006.

I own all of them and I like them in different ways but generally my 'loyalty' / preference goes to the system that respects the player most with quality of life features and technology that provides relatively great performance. So for the time being that honor goes to the series x in my eyes and thus its the one I buy all my multiplatform games on. Switch and ps5 i just use for exclusives.

I always preferred consoles, despite my most played game ever being on PC.
The closed and standard specs always made them more technically appealing to me.
Also the console exclusives were always better for my taste

i have all the consoles. But prefer Xbox. I have since 360. Comes down to multiplats, controller, ease of use, ecosystem and console features i guess.

Which kinda sucks because PS2's my fave console of all time. And i don't even really care for Xbox exclusives. I shouldn't even have to own an Xbox technically. But thats how good Xbox is and how playstation has just gotten worse over the years. The controller on playstation keeps getting worse. Backwards compatibility WAS getting worse which idk if back-compat even counts now because PS5 is just a slightly better PS4 Pro in disguise i think. the ecosystem has been not great. Im pretty much forced to keep getting Sony consoles tho because every couple years they put out an amazing exclusive.

same with Nintendo i guess. Nintendo for me is just a Super Mario and Zelda machine. I barely have used my switch outside of BOTW and Mario Odyssey.

Xbox for now, always preferred the controller layout / feel and gamepass made for an easy choice this gen, plus they are finally getting serious about having a good first party offering. I will still get a PS5 when available and hopefully they'll find a way to design a console without a stand before I get one..

Ps4 up until some time ago. Currently xsx because it's compact and convenient. Ps4 pro is still hooked up but currently getting stuff on x.

PlayStations got the best exclusives for now, but I prefer the controller and OS of my Xboxes.

That being said, I've been playing only a Xbox for a while but that's mostly because I want a PS5 to finish Horizon ZD, Death Stranding and TLOU2.

I'm just surprised its this bad LMAO
Currently Elden Ring gets shit on just because it's graphics doesn't meet GAF's standard and we regularly getting DF threads that people could argue about few resolution and frames…..come one.

The most popular threads in GAF is either about graphics or controversy in gaming industry.

Generally speaking I prefer Xbox because I get more games for my money through Game Pass and PC versions as well.

But the games I play matter a lot and Forza Horizon 5 just released. Had you asked me after the Ratchet & Clank release I would've said PS5.

Retired from consoles im 2020. There's almost no compromise with PC now, other than trying to find a decent GPU. Lucky enough to have a 3080.
