They're not demos - they're access to the full game for a time limited period like Cyberpunk just had. 5 hours was decent enough and I bought it (again) after getting that far with it on PS5.
According to GP subscribers, they buy good games they got to try out even though they're on GP, so this is the same right? Right….?

I think it will have games like gamepass but not the very latest ones. Probably 6-12 months old and later.
The media keeps doing to it for clicks which only helps confuse the consumer even further. Sony just wants to retain their PS Plus subscribers, get a few extra dollars out of them, and incentivize those that have a PlayStation (4 or 5) to finally sign up for a subscription. Time and time again they keep saying it won't be a 1:1 equivalent on top of always quoting it won't be like Gamepass, yet it seems to be the only term they know. Same with streaming services and Netflix. Everything new in streaming is trying to be the Netflix of XYZ.

I agree with most of that (including the motivations about increasing the ARPU and attach rate) and still believe that naturally consumers will compare it to Gamepass and Netflix, they don't have to be mutually exclusive reasons.
Makes sense, I think the PS4/5 firmware updates this week were a pre-requisite. Now they're out it's ready to go.
Btw forget any possibility of full PS1-PS2 libraries, if there are legacy games at all it will mostly be the same old titles that we've seen before. The licensing/distribution issues with many of those old games haven't gone away.

Oh so this is gonna be an extension of PS NOW? Was not aware of that. I thought it was gonna be something brand new.
I guess my hope is that they come out with something similar to what Xbox has. Most of the games available on Xbox Game Pass are also available on PC Gamepass. I'm not really expecting day and date releases, but more PC ports would be awesome.

Nah they are greedy and they'll put everyone on lowest or midtier with a cheap upgrade with current subscription. They'll not converte everyone to the highest tier. Best hope is midtier.

Indeed, Google Stadia saved me from the horror of Far Cry 6 last night. Didn't like it at all so glad I didn't download all 80-odd GB from Ubisoft.
Its a bit weird but it seems like PS Now is a part of the highest tier so if i was someone without either, I would tell them to just get PS Now because it makes sense that they match you to the service with the same features so effectively you would be get PS+ free.
I don't expect Spartacus to cover PC games sadly but could be wrong on this, that would be pretty good though imo.

I haven't tried Ps Now in a very long time but I played DMC5 from amazon prime in my browser just to see how it was and I was pretty impressed. I wouldn't wanna play a whole game like that but as you said it's pretty cool just to mess around with and demo a game.

How do they know that if Microsoft never mentioned the amount of subscribers that use xCloud, and not even how many GPU subs do they have? Right now there is no way to know if xCloud is more popular than PS Now because MS never shared their numbers.
Both PS Now and xCloud are limited to around 2 or 3 dozen countries (a few more in the case of MS).
Cloud gaming needs the player to be close to the servers, meaning that they must put a shit ton of servers around the globe in the covered countries or close to them to have a decent input lag. In addittion to this, each server serves way less players at the same time than video streaming, webs or multiplayer game servers meaning that server costs are way more expensive for cloud gaming than for other services.
For this reason Sony and Microsoft -and the other cloud gaming services- are only limited to certain countries, they focus on these a handful dozen countries who cover 80% of their gaming revenue.
I think the Spartacus top (PS Now/Cloud gaming) tier will continue being limited to these countries (maybe they add a handful more) but that the other two tiers will be available worldwide.

Well, the highest tier would also include access to a catalogue of allegedly 100 classic PS1 games, with PS2, PSP and PS3 catalogues arriving later on.
