"Please, Please buy Recycled Tsushima next month!.... oh.. and here is some other shit some other publishers announced or whatever."

I wish I could drum up some excitement for this, but I seriously cannot remember the last state of play that got me really excited for their games. I'm going to go in hoping for the best, but I expect to come away disappointed.

Off the top of my head, my bingo card has Yotei, souls like games, Wolverine, Marathon, Astro Bot DLC (more levels or costumes) and maybe something on Saros.

I would really love to see Sony actually open up their IP treasure chest and start to make some games based on some of their older IP. Wipeout, Warhawk, Killzone, Twisted Metal, SOCOM etc.

If true I'm guessing is one to remember they are still making games and those games they announced long ago are still alive.

Sony needs to show Fairgame$, Marathon, Project Gummy Bears!!

Yeah right! Like there's even one thing to get excited about a State of Play much less Showcase. This gen has been al about Third parties. Even Konami of all publishers released something that people were excited about.

Showcase or state of play?
No clue honestly

I haven't been gaming much recently and when I have its been mostly with family and not the people who might hear about these things

The very little chat I have seen seems to think its on the smaller side, 4 or 5 games so I would lean SOP but being totally honest I don't know

What does Sony currently have cooking? There is Yotei (no), Wolverine (another Marvel thing, meh) and Marathon (not my thing). Anything else I am missing? Soros is still a bit off, right?

I have to give him credit, Sony has a SoP every year right before TGS. It being next week sure is calling his shot because TGS starts Wednesday night ET.

The Sept SoP is always the pre-TGS one. You'll get Capcom (Pragmata and RE9), Sega, and Square Enix. Anything big that will be at TGS.

Saros is certainly going to be shown this year, not sure if this is a little early though (I thought it would be the winter SOP/Showcase whatever they decide to do this year), Wolverine has been rumoured to have a SOP around now for a while now, Marathon maybe but I believe they are in full on rehash mode to change the game based on feedback so not sure if they'll show that, Intergalactic maybe as I do know they want to show off proper gameplay but again, thought that would be winter. But we also have whatever SSM are working on, and there is rumours of a second Naughty Dog game (potentially Uncharted related), they have a few other dev teams working on stuff but I doubt those would be SOP announcements and doubt they are ready to show anything also, but you never know.

There is the Bald Lesbian Space Adventures. They might show another trailer with 7 whole frames of gameplay!

I don't think Intergalatic is a 2026 title. I'd say more around E3 next year they will show it next.

Edit: I think Soros is the one that will be left to die against GTA 6 (assuming that does get delayed again).

Kinda obvious, their marketing cycle is three State of Plays per year (February, May/June and September) + TGA.
Really looking forward to the games they'll announce and I hope the Wolverine rumor is true :pie_starstruck: also the good thing I've really come to appreciate about these events is that there are many things being released just a few months later.

All they have to do is release at least 2 month before or a minimum of 4 months after GTA for it not to be left to die (because of GTA... It might die for many other reasons).

I think maybe the official black console covers for the pro might be there aswell.

I usually don't trust leakers as must of them are fake . But this guy poved legit couple of times. So let's go !!

If this isn't Sony first party big games reveal I am going to be pissed lol

Between that and Forza Horizon 6 Japan at TGS, it's gonna be good shit

You don't need to be an insider to say that Sony is holding an event in September.

I like the structure they've been using in recent shows — 30 minutes with solid content. But I'd love to see a big showcase packed with first-party titles: Saros, Wolverine, Intergalactic, Horizon 3, Stellar Blade 2, Cory's new game, etc. Unfortunately, Sony doesn't do that kind of event anymore.
