Upcoming Indiana Jones game is a Xbox console Exclusive

In a perfect world, Indiana Jones would always be relevant, being the quintessence of a certain type of story that it is. Indiana Jones should be remembered through the centuries like King Arthur or the paladin Roland. He's the archetype of the treasure hunter. He's cool. He's the ladies' man. He raids ancient tombs. He finds lost cities. He kicks Nazi ass. He uses a goddamn whip. If Indy isn't the stuff of legend, I don't know who is.

Harsh truth is, in this fast world of here today, come tomorrow, he isn't that commercially relevant anymore. But a good Indiana Jones game has the potential of being better than a similar good game that doesn't have Indiana Jones in it.
Did, did, did you just describe Toxic Masculinity?

Don't worry about this one. Impossible scenario. Microsoft owns the studio and the publisher and that's Microsoft's business model.
But Disney owns the IP and would have made a contract with Bethesda before the acquisition. There would have been a contract in place, correct? MS might need to renegotiate it if it was before the acquisition.

Seems a bit of an odd choice for an exclusive game as it feels like the license is quite tired. In the right hands it could be quite good, but the rumoured developer doesn't feel like the right fit for me.
Uncharted and Tomb Raider felt very long in the tooth by the end, so this would need a few USPs to sell it.

That's Scrooge McDuck.

Not sure if it's a good idea to put these sentences back to back, just saying. "lollipop_disappointed:

Playing as a 80 year old Harrison Ford got me really excited.

They need a hip break mechanic. Like, if you try to do too much and your stamina gets too low, your hip just breaks. Then the next three hours of the game are you rehabilitating in a hospital, and at the end the doctor tells you you have to be more careful, before letting you back into the proper game. 500 hours of game play, easy.

Also need an adult diaper mechanic. Never mind health packs. Indy has to pick up nappies on a regular basis, to make sure his incontinence doesn't stop him.

Indiana Jane!
- find the amulet that will kill all men!
I'm half expecting Harrison ford to be killed off by his 'son' within around the thirty minute mark..

Phobe MUST carry on from there, through a rip roaring men hating adventure with an utterly slap tastic goofy male side kick!

Hooray!

This is your 'new' Indiana Jones, by the way..

Have fun guys :messenger_tears_of_joy:(y)

She really should have been The Doctor... instead of that weird tiny Northern woman who can't act.

And that film is going to be a fucking turd whoever is the 'new' Indiana Jones. Whether they've got boobs or not is completely immaterial.

And you're not wrong about the new film. Those are some big boots to fill!

It wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't. Microsoft didn't own Bethesda till after that deal was already hashed out. Maybe Microsoft as owner of both Publisher and studios can shift it exclusive, but if there's a clause that explicitly requires a PS5 release, then there is no way around it.

I imagine it's still day one on Game Pass, though. Either way, can't wait to see that game. I feel MachineGames are going to knock it out of the park.
Yep. Agreed. I figured the same. But if it's day one on game pass it's already a win.

Exclusive games do matter imo. They should be the prime example of what makes a platform appealing , not for some petty console war shite, to make them the best they can be for our time and money.

Games that pushes the other platforms to do better, to compete for the consumers purchasing decisions and investment in the platform. Surely that's a positive thing? It irks me when people deliberately twist this as console war stuff , that it's about the obnoxious fan boys and fake trolls cashing in on YouTube. It isn't and it shouldn't be.

I'm reading a lot of "who cares as long as it's in gamepass". Well that's fine, to me there is this thinking that Gamepass is the be all and end all and personally I don't like where this is heading at all. I can see the value, i have been a subscriber myself however all these subscriptions and the big push for them isn't my thing really.

Massive pressure on this game from the off though, because it isn't everyday you get an Indy game, and the last one was on the original xbox I think...if they get this wrong and it reviews poorly that would seriously dent another Indy game coming anytime soon....

Well, i'm not sure about a Indy game these days. Is there a movie coming up or something?

Not sure why or how there not being an Indy game in a while would put 'massive pressure' on it lol.

If anything, that means there's no real expectations from it.

Yeah. Put me down for not really digging on Xbox allowing games from their first party studios going multiplat off rip. Xbox can hardly get games to release on dates scheduled out months and months in advance. Now, here's another game that wont release until 2030. and its already going to competing platforms. I like knowing the platform I invest in has games you can't get anywhere else. Nobody else is really playing the same way the Phil and Co are. Yet, Xbox keeps gassing up their competitors like their at some virtual camp fire roasting marshmallows and shit.

Keep it up Microsoft.. Keep it up.
