Have you played through the sewage section with Henry and Sam? That has been the most "next gen" moment for me so far even though PS5 was struggling lol still beautiful. I do hope they fix performance for 4k mode soon.
Whats the issue with performance in the 4k mode? The ps5 is struggling? Ain't no way, must need a patch.

Sadly I can't replay games I've already beaten. Thought I might give this one a chance but I can't. Probably the best remake ever along with Demon's Souls (I don't play souls games at all though).

Dude, since elden ring all i do is play the games i finished before.
Just this summer, i replayed and finished, uc4 and lost legacy remasters, inside( was on gamepass, couldnt help myself), fifa 14 (i missed playing with Kaka for some reason) and modenr warfare rebbot (fantastic campaign).
Just give it another go.

Lighting and reflections are on another level.
But the most impectful improvement is facial expressions so far.
Seeing the agony on Sarah's face in that way makes the whole moment 10 times more emotional.
This is the first time i notice Sarah looks like her uncle Tommy and i was like, oh yeah people do look like their uncle sometimes.

I said the exact same thing to someone yesterday. The facial tech is insane, the little quivers and muscle muscle movements you can now see in both Sarah and Joels faces during that scene made it feel new to me and hit me in a different way. It was a lot more realistic.

I don't remember any other remake that tries so hard to prove that it's better than the original version. If it's better, you can even see it in a 720p youtube video, like Demon's Souls remake.

So what are the proper set up settings for the Fidelity 40 fps mode to engage LFC on a CX? Set ps5 to 120hz output from system menu and then select VRR on tv/ps5 then go Fidelity and check unlocked framerate? I can't seem to get a smooth experience so far in 40hz maybe I'm missing something.

One thing about that scene people don't talk nearly enough is Tommy's face of disbelief when it all happens. The original didn't portray nearly as many emotions like this.
You see Tommy first, then Joel, then Sarah. Also...that tear down her face was...not something I needed. As if it wasn't bad enough already. Was the tear there before? I don't remember it.

These cutscenes are unreal. After seeing this, it wouldn't surprise me if Insomniac actually reaches the fidelity shown in the Wolverine CGI trailer. They are not far off here at all.

I am playing with 4k40 VRR mode and the drops to the 30s are often and noticeable during cutscenes and gameplay when using the flashlight in scenes with dense particles (spores) and geometry. It's so good looking I give them a pass for pushing the hardware but they still need to optimize their engine better. At this point, it seems as though Insomniac engine is the most up to date engine for PS5. They have solidified their status as #1 PS Studio as of now.

You can see that Part 1 is better through a YouTube video. What are you talking about? I will say that YouTube videos, especially poor quality ones, have a massive impact and really underplay just how significant the jump is
Look I'm going to be completely honest - Demon's Souls gets a lot of love here and it looks great, but TLOU Part 1 BLOWS IT THE FUCK AWAY visually. This is clearly at the top of the heap on PS5 when it comes to visuals.

Looks pretty detailed to me. Plus it's an open world CROSS GEN game with hundreds of characters VS. a linear corridor exclusive to PS5.Both are impressive. I was just impressed by HFW more in the context of the game world and platforms on which it was released.
