Is neogaf old?

I tend to find younger people either A. Having less exposure and overall experience playing games or B. They come off as the King or Queen of Entitlement because they're young.

I'm never jealous or wishing my life was different because a bunch of young people are playing Fortnite or PUBG. This isn't the birth of 3D games either. So I don't get the ageism remarks.

I am in my mid 30's and asking some intern if he played Bayo 1,2, Resi, or FF1-15 isn't exactly fun or relatable. No offense.

30 something year old popamolers calling themselves 'old' because they're so use to interacting with kiddies/20 year olds when talking videa games...

Just one in many sleeper accounts I've seen randomly go active. The others seem to be actively participating but seeing people sign back in recently who'd been logged out since like 2017 or before...something's off. Let's test the blood before letting these old accounts log back on...that way we'll know if...

I guess we are.
Mods being active at banning immature trolls must have something to do with it.

I think these style of forums are just dated in general if I'm being honest. It's all anecdotal, but I'd bet the younger audiences are using social media and discord for their gaming discussions rather than signing up to a message board these days. A lot of us here have probably been using this format for a long time and much prefer it.

I know OP was trolling, but I was genuinely thinking about this stuff recently.
A forum of this nature, built on real legacy as a staple for discussion, should be able to thrive today.

The owner is either not interested or has been scared from doing so. I would love for EviLore EviLore to weigh in.

VFX Veteran was literally 50 fucking years old and acted like a child. You should have no problems fitting in.

I wasnt born in time for Atari but i definitely played it at my cousins house all the time. They had a different version with joysticks and racing games that came with dial knob controllers. Looked something like this:

Most of these young uns dont get it. We started from dots on screen. Their first experience was knack.

Yes, and I see the consequences: no discussions around online multi-player games. MMOs, mobas, Monster Hunter and now Battle Royales.. these are what people are playing. Not frickin Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. Get w/ tha program
If you want to chat Fortnite, I'm sure my 14 year old niece would listen.

In 2003 when I started out on forums, they were very active. You used to get dozens of users and staff signed in at once. Then several years later, they dropped in popularity. This bothered me a lot, because I was never keen on using blogs or Facebook because forums just looked better. People would keep sending you requests for things you weren't interested in. The Messenger sucks too.

Bebo became popular for a few years, but Facebook eventually took over, so Bebo ended. But I honestly think Facebook has a terrible layout, though.

Maybe people prefer social media because everything is together. Your pals from your real life, news, and banter with people in groups about topics you enjoy discussing, are all there. Even dating and get together events are a part of Facebook.

But I prefer to use forums. I really do. Although over the years, they've dipped in activity.

Forums don't hound you for "Engagement".
Forums don't require you to Doxx yourself.
Forums work best on PC, so that cut's out most of the smartphone casuals that were not on forums anyway before smartphones were popular.
